Are you presenting yourself in the light you want? Are you being you? Are you being the "YOU" that you know you can be?
Not just some of the time, but all of the time!
Every moment we have the power of influence. I think about my kids and how they watch, repeat and emulate the things we do. Are we examples? Are we role models? The values my parents gave to me are gifts, but they came with a catch… They were always meant to be shared. To give, to teach, to continue to learn as we grow. I find myself often reflecting on a lesson that my parents taught me years ago, and realizing what that lesson meant then means so much more today as I teach it to my children. I understand the times they let us learn the hard way, and how that hard way created a path that made it easier to face the things that would come much later in life. They taught me what it meant to allow others to see your faith and to show how that faith gives us the ability to be our blessings and to share those blessings with as many people as we meet throughout our journey.
Mom and Pop... No matter where we go or what we do we will forever give thanks to God for you. All the lessons, all the comfort, the protection, the honesty, the unconditional love for your children and the example of what it means to love someone... For richer for poorer, in sickness and in health... You are today still teaching and it those lessons that help all your kids continue to dream, to live and believe in who we are and all the possibilities of who we can be.
