Often we hear what we want to hear. We can take it and twist it anyway we like rather than take it as it was meant to be. We've all done it. Sometimes though you just have to listen. You have to pay attention to the message. You have to let it sink in long enough to understand the point. Then you start to realize all those things you've "heard" you never really took the time to listen to them. So take a moment today and reflect on all those times you were given advice, given feedback, offered a helping hand, given a kind word, received a thank you, a bless you or even just a smile and a "hi. Listen and take notice. Listen to your parents, remember the things they've told you all along the way. Listen to your grandparents, they have stories that paved the way. Listen to your spouse, they may be telling you exactly what matters most to them. Listen to your children, they may be telling you exactly what they need. Listen to your friends, they may be asking you for guidance or offering you some. Listen to your colleagues, they may be giving you feedback to help you tackle the next challenge. Listen to yourself, you know what's best for you. Listen to your prayers and pay attention to how God answers them.
There is so much being said every day... Sometimes we just need to listen.
