You sometimes can't help but wonder how you got here. You think of the choices you've made, the times when things were so bad you just knew you couldn't make it. Then out of nowhere God put people in your path. Some of those people caused hurt, but taught you lessons. Some people picked you up and helped you grow. Some came in for a moment, but left lasting impressions. Some motivated you to be more, to push more, to give more simply by being themselves. Some found their way into your heart and have walked alongside you every step of the way since. There are so many people that influence us, both good and bad. So many who encourage us to live up to our expectations, and others who challenge us to surpass theirs. Today, I simply say thank you to everyone who gives me the blessing of being a part of who I am and who I work at every day to be. My parents filled my heart with passion. I honor them by filling my life with belief. Belief that God is great, that He is ever present, and that faith is believing when it is impossible to believe. Think about what matters and chances are you'll realize who matters. There are things happening right now at this moment we don't even realize. Those influences that shape our day, our year, our lives. It's in our children, spouse, friends, family, coworkers. Think about what you'll do today. Think about where you are and where you want to go. Our actions, our choices, our place in life reflect countless lessons. So wherever you want to go, go! Whatever you want to do, do! Whoever you want to be, be! After all, our pursuit of happiness, our commitment to reaching higher, our very existence creates influences we may not even realize, just as others have and continue to influence us.
