I remember in 8th grade I had so many questions about faith. So many that I thought I simply couldn't have it if I didn't understand it. The teacher, our pastor, my friends all tried to explain to me it wasn't a thing, but much more than that. I agreed to move on from it because I knew at that point nothing they said was going to change my questions. Over the years so many things happened that I chalked up to chance. The valleys I walked in and got through I thought nothing of it. Then one day I faced something I didn't think I could overcome. I sat in darkness contemplating how I got from one point to the other. I didn't have an answer. Yet, as I reflected, I realized how many times there were no answers, but yet I was able to progress forward and I was able to overcome the moment to get to a place of peace. Faith can be different things to different people. Even when we don't have faith, faith has us. God is there holding us even when we aren't holding Him. His faith in us, in our purpose, in our passion, in our journey is ever present. It's up to us to see it, to appreciate it, to welcome it. If I could go back in time and tell myself that everyone was right... Faith is not a thing, but the ability to believe when it's impossible to believe. To know that God is there even when we aren't. That trusting, giving, living, and leaping in faith is appreciating the blessing that we can.
