Daily BITUB- “Happy New Year 2021”

I have always believed the measure of a great person is in his/her ability to overcome the things they least expect and to carry whatever load must be carried... To have faith when others don't and to trust that God has us firmly in His grip. You can pretty much some up 2020 by saying we couldn't have expected anything like we experienced, and at times it got pretty hard to hold up. Over my 25 years in my current work life I have come across things that made me question whether or not I even wanted to do the job, take the path, and put myself in a place where I would have to do things that would impact others. There were moments I thought I wouldn't be able to make it through the moment, only to find that it was the moment that helped make me. The moving from place to place, the people I was blessed to know (good and bad), the adversity, the doubts, the setbacks, the wins, the successes, the relationships put me right here, right now . That is not by accident, and as my word for 2020 was intentional, I know that God has been extremely intentional in my life. He has created a foundation over the years that has allowed me to build on it to simply do all I can to give more than I take, to be a better person, and to find ways to be of service to others in all aspects of life. As we sit and reflect on 2020 my hope and prayer is that you are able to see that even in our darkest moments there are blessings. Blessings in disguise, blessings that are in plain sight, and those blessings we have yet to realize, and may not for years to come. I am grateful, humbled, and in awe of all that God has given and continues to give. I put 2020 in my book of closed chapters. A book that I often reference to remind myself of the things I have experienced, and to reflect on when I need to remember just how far I have progressed. I am looking forward to 2021, as I look forward to each new day God blesses me with. I look forward to growing my relationships with all of you, to learning more, to growing more, to becoming a better servant of God for those in my life.

I say thank you to all of you who continue to be a part of me, my journey, my path and count you as a blessing and an intentional part of God's plan for me today and what He has in store for me next.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year.
Be safe, be healthy, and as always Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU.

Daily BITUB- “Someone”

As we wrap the year I thought I would revisit a few posts I felt like could be shared again this week. Enjoy and thank you all for the continued support and all the wonderful kind words you continue to encourage and inspire me with. -DC (Little Boy, Big Dreams)

Somebody right now is thinking of you.  They are remembering a moment. Thinking of an instance in which you influenced their very existence. I know it's easy to think of those big things you've done. Those significant moments of change, but the little gestures are what carry you. The ones where you didn't have to but you did. Where you smiled across the room to bring comfort. Where you touched their hand amidst the chaos to let them know it's ok. Where you cried because you just knew they couldn't. Where you prayed for them, and no one but you and God knew. Where you held them because their heart needed to rest, and where you told them it was ok because their mind needed to slow down. Where your hope became the beacon they needed and your faith became the light for their path.  Where your actions created the words they needed to encourage themselves to carry on. Where your trust in God's plan for your life helped them realize His plan for theirs. Yes, someone right now is thinking of you. Simply because you are you.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you know you are someone's everything.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy week everyone.

Daily BITUB- “Don’t Give Up”

Don't give up on them. Maybe they aren't where you need them to be.  Maybe they are falling short of what you expect. Maybe, but ask yourself have you given them all of you? Have you taken the time to offer your experiences, ideas, and time? Think about all the moments you could have been cast aside, but someone refused to let you quit. Every day we come across opportunities to throw in the towel.  Every day we come across naysayers, negativity, and doubt. Yet how many times have you fallen short only to have someone finish the drill with you? How many times have you stepped off the path only to have someone pull you back? How many times have you forgot your goal only to have someone remind you of why you do what you do? It happens to all of us, and it happens often. Take a step back, reassess your priorities, reenergize your dreams and don't give up on those that matter most... After all how many people have never given up on you?

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is for you to realize there are always people ready to help you. God places those blessings all along the path for us, as He places us along other's paths. We just need to notice.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day everyone.

Daily BITUB- “Make Them Matter”

You are going to make some choices today that will influence many things. We make tough decisions. We do hard things. We make choices that can and do impact ourselves and others. We have families to support. We have people that rely on us. We have commitments, responsibilities, obligations. I tell people often you have to do what you feel is right. You have to go with your experiences and if you don't have any then you go with your instincts. Sometimes that means you can only do what is right in front of you knowing that God will carry you through whatever comes your way. It may be the best moments of your life, it may be the worst, but regardless it is going to be because you made the decision to do it. We take risks. We take leaps of faith. We take hold of the moments we are given and we make them matter. We push ourselves because we can. We take chances because we must. We try, we fail, we try, we grow, we try, we have setbacks, we try, we succeed. We make tough decisions. We do hard things. We trust in God and Believe in the Unbelievable possibilities of what can be. You are going to make some choices today that will influence many things.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you have the courage to do the things you must to reach the places you know you can. In all things go with God

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day everyone.

Daily BITUB- “The Go To Book”

Yesterday I was speaking to someone about leadership and coaching. They asked me about books to read and things I study. They asked me what my go to book was. I've read so many books on leadership. I've read books about faith and what it really means to have it. Read books about courage, noticing the things around us, trust, truth, the struggle, success, how to be rich, how to live life. There is so much knowledge. There are so many people with motivational stories. There are people who overcome things that make you appreciate where you are and humble you by the things they have done. You can find books about anything, but if you want a book about everything there is The Bible. God's words are often intertwined in many of the leadership books I read. The revelations of Jesus as the ultimate Servant Leader, the lessons, the wisdom, the guidance in every story is where I have found the most truth and understanding of why we should lead a life of servitude and prayer. There is nothing I have found better as God's word is the foundation of everything, and is strong enough to hold up whatever journey you are on, situation you are experiencing, place you are in. I have, and will continue to read many books, but if I'm choosing one this will always be my go to book. As we finished I left him with this... "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV)

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you find comfort in His word when you need it and guidance for a life well lived always.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day everyone.

Daily BITUB- “It’s Enough”

What if we gave ourselves a pat on the back once in awhile? Would that be horrible? What if we accepted we aren't perfect? We all are works in progress. We all have areas of opportunity to be better, to grow, to develop ourselves. What if we looked at ourselves through God's eyes? Don't we believe that God loves us no matter what? That when we fail, fall short, mess up He still loves us. His love is unconditional if we want it. "God demonstrated his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) You know sometimes we have to say we are enough. We are running a good race, we are putting in the work, we are trying to live up to the best of our abilities right now. Even when we didn't want to we pushed on. Often, we are quick to encourage others when they need it, but we are harder on ourselves than anyone ever could be. At some point in our lives we must realize that as human beings we all need comfort, praise, love, hope, guidance, acceptance and reminders of why we are on this path, and help sometimes to get us back there. Those reminders are in the blessings around us. They are in the prayers we say for others and the prayers said for us. It is in a moment where we sit and reflect and give thanks to God for giving us the ability and opportunity to know we are doing all we can today and sometimes that's all we can ask for.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you see what God sees in you. That you hold tight to His love for it is always there. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son. That whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day everyone.

Daily BITUB- “Spread Joy”

Every day we are blessed to wake up is another day to give thanks for it. No matter what you have in front of you, you are here with an opportunity to do something with this day. We are renewed every morning through God's never ending Grace. It is our responsibility to take every blessing, every chance, every gift God gives us and share it. Put yourself in a place to make a moment. See the things and people around you for what they are... A small instance in time that can make a difference time and time again. Let yourself provide someone with a good word, a positive push, a thank you, a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on. Surround yourself with good. Let your voice be heard, your heart be loved, your faith be known. There are too many people willing to spread negativity, but not enough of us willing to spread joy, goodness, hope. We have to be better at it. We have to know that it's needed. We must have the courage to do it. Then we take this day, this gift, and we make it matter. Even if for only one person today, then that is one person that knows they matter to someone... and everyone deserves to know that.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you know "The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23) Keep the faith and have the courage and the blessing of giving some of that faith to others.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day everyone.

Daily BITUB- “Your Choice”

"What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"(Romans 8:31)

There is always something for people to be upset about. Always something that can create negative emotions. People can, and will, complain about anything these days. Some even take delight in firing you up to the point you are no longer focused on what needs to be done, but rather what they need and want you to spend your energy on. It derails you, and that energy really should be elsewhere. I once read, "Did you have a bad day, or did you let something that lasted five minutes ruin your day?" Dwelling in it, sulking in, living in it only puts the burden of negativity on your shoulders. That's not how it should be. You have things to do. You have blessings to be. You have joy to spread. You have positivity to light the room that negativity attempts to make dark. That positivity that gives you the motivation to find time to do the things you need to do.
It really is self inspiration. A passion of will that refuses to let a day go by where you are not in control of your thoughts, emotions, happiness. Where you put your energy, how you move on through life, who you live for are all choices. Make good ones. Trust it, own it, and believe in it. After all, "The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts." (Marcus Aurelius)

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you allow yourself to choose to not let anyone steal your joy. Appreciate the gift of life God provides today and every day and put your energy there.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy week everyone.

Daily BITUB- “Do Your Part”

"My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth."- Psalm 121:2

Things don't just happen. We can pray for things to happen. We can ask God to help us, but that's not all there is to it. We have to have faith. We have to pay attention to the answered prayers. We have to understand God isn't always going to answer prayers as we want, but will always answer them as we need. Then we have to contribute. We have to be active participants in our journey. We have to do our part. We have to put in the effort to help God's plan for us work. We can't expect things to be handed to us. We have to be willing to make sacrifices, commitments, promises and be accountable to them. As God answers our prayers in his timing we move forward knowing He is with us along the way, and already knows our destination. It may be a completely different outcome than we expected , but It doesn't mean it's not the way it should be. We must continue to ask God for guidance, strength, direction. We must continue to give of ourselves. Then we believe and have faith that God will do His part as long as we continue to do ours.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you never stop asking God for help. He already knows what you need and is ever present. It is simply up to us to acknowledge His presence.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day everyone.

Daily BITUB- “Encouragement”

Go ahead and encourage someone today. Encourage them to chase a dream. Encourage them to take a leap of faith. Encourage them to take that chance, take the trip, run the race, take the shot. We all need encouragement. Even for the little things. You would be surprised how much a "way to go" can carry someone. Think about the impact if we all acknowledged something someone did today to help others. You have no idea if it's someone's first day on a job, someone taking a chance at something they never have, someone nervous if they are doing ok. You noticing the effort helps them understand they can do this and may just raise their level of confidence enough for them to push their potential even higher than they thought it could go. Everyone wants encouragement. Everyone wants to feel valued. They look for it. They may be at their wits end. May be feeling ready to give in. May want to give up. You might be the blessing they need. You may be the person God put in their path to remind them that "He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength." (Isaiah 40:29). Never underestimate your influence. Be blessed by the moments you get to encourage, and give thanks for all the times someone took a moment to encourage you.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is simply a word of encouragement. That whatever you face you can do this. "For with God nothing shall be impossible." (Luke 1:37)

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day everyone.

Daily BITUB- “What’s in your heart?”

"Strengthening the soul of your leadership is an invitation to enter more deeply into the process of spiritual transformation and to choose to lead from that place."- Ruth Haley Barton

Over the past year and a half I have been on an intentional spiritual journey. Reconnecting with God and finding the strength in Him to revisit old wounds and create new ways of being a better version of myself. In that I've discovered things that have become entrenched deep in me over time that are the source of how I choose to live my life. Confidence builders, if you will, from experience, from lessons in failure, to growth, to faith, to my support system... All of it lets me approach things with what I have learned are my strengths leading the way. We all have those qualities, but it takes a true spiritual, mental, and intentional search of what's in your heart. Then a determination of why it's there and if it needs to be. A realization that what you really feel, and how you say it, is what's in your heart. Maybe you can mask it for awhile, but eventually our words let others know what we really feel. You simply can't hide it forever. Sure, actions speak louder than words, but it is often our words that initiate those actions. Every single experience builds up inside you. It fills your heart. You have to ask yourself "What's really there?" "A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Your words reflect your heart." (Luke 6:45) My discovery has led me to understand that my journey must be led with a servant heart. I've taken so much over time from so many... My hope is that I can repay some of the support, the guidance, the blessings God has given me and do all I can to simply give more than I have taken. It is in that place, it is in my heart, that I will do all I can to lead that life and potentially lead others so that they may find their place too.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you search your heart for the good that resides there. Share it with others. Tell your stories. Talk about your journey. Inspire and be inspired. God has a plan for all of us, and it is in that journey, as we share with each other, we come to realize just how blessed we are to have the people in our lives that we do.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy week everyone.

"God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. Daily BITUB- “Let Them See YOU"

Sometimes we look at our lives from a distorted point of view. We create this false sense of security until we finally can't mask it, and that exposure of reality can be daunting. We go through the motions of our life doing a comparative analysis of how we fare against others. Do we have what they have? Do we do what they do? We are so focused on that we lose focus of our own intent. We spend hours scrolling through the visions of people's lives, the images they portray, and what we think we see. Sometimes we even go out and create what we want others to see, instead of leading the life we are supposed to. Over the years I have found that sharing the real story, the real picture, the real hurt, happiness, joy, events, experiences are what bring people together. It's what helps those struggling realize they can. It shows how we are all human and that life is not just a bunch of happy pictures. There are challenges, adversity, setbacks in all our lives. Don't be afraid to be you. That gives others the opportunity to be themselves around you. Maybe that is what they need. They need that person that says I see you. I see all of you and it's ok. In doing that you might just be the catalyst that creates a community of people around you who understand and appreciate the blessing of being able to be around others they can see too.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you realize there is beauty in all of you. "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism, but accepts all from every nation who fear Him and do what is right." (Acts 10: 34-35)

Have a blessed, safe and healthy day all.

Daily BITUB- “Effort”

Our ability to dream, set high goals, persevere is a culmination of many contributors... Emotions, people, hurt, joy, highs and lows. We often overlook, and even dismiss, how much effort it took to keep going sometimes. To chase the dream despite the obstacles. To push ourselves despite the adversity. Remember that feeling. That moment you decided to not give up. Effort is only noticed when we have to exert it. After the fact we forget we did. We forget why we did. Things we have experienced, people in our lives, our faith through the storm is effort. It's us trying to keep going, to move forward, to figure it all out. Think about how intentional you can be in what you allow in your life and the impact it, or they, can be. You have had that courage to let go of things that you felt didn't matter and put things in your life that did. If you are surrounding yourself with naysayers, doubters, negativity then that's your output. Let it go. Ask yourself what in your life is adding value? What is not? Why are you letting the distractions of other's weaken your focus and energy? Effort. Real, honest, true effort will be many things, but it won't be something you can fake. It won't be something you will do if it doesn't matter enough for you to do it. It won't happen if you allow distractions to derail you. There are many contributors to how and why we live. Don't ever doubt that you and your effort are part of the biggest ones.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you have the strength to do what you feel. That you find the extra push in you to put forth the effort that makes those things that matter, matter more.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day everyone.

Daily BITUB- “Decisions, Decisions.”

I've been working through some big decisions lately. Looking at the possible outcomes, as these are decisions that will ultimately influence the course of my life. I think we all have had those types of choices to make. We put down the possible outcomes. We reflect on the impact of those decisions on others. We do our best to weigh out the possibilities. We think about our past and we lean on our experiences. We know some work out as we planned, and all worked out as God planned. It's hard, in faith, to think that any choice is a wrong one. As I think back on the many things I chose that were seemingly wrong in my eyes at the time... Well, I quickly realize how important those lessons were in who I am today. As I reflect on that I trust that all the things I've done, the places I've been, the people I've met have brought me to this new crossroad. One, that honestly, is a path I'm not familiar with and a journey I am not sure I am equipped to take. Yet, I've said to others often that we can't hold ourselves captive to the things we know denying ourselves the opportunity to grow in the things we don't. Maybe we don't have everything today, but I've yet to get to a place in my life that God didn't provide everything I needed at the exact moment I needed it. That in itself gives me comfort, and as always I believe that whatever I choose, wherever I land, whatever happens God already has the path I will need to take next.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that if you are facing some tough decisions in your life that you trust that God is with you, as He always has been. Pray for guidance and then pay attention to it. There is no shortage of doubt, it is the abundance of belief that often gets overlooked.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day everyone.
