Sacrifices are inevitable.  Circumstances will play a role.  There will even be those times when no matter what we think we are prepared for something unexpected occurs.  That's when the real test begins.  That's when we choose to progress forward in faith or sit idle and question.  It's when we must find it within to grasp the smallest glimmer of light in the darkest of moments.  It's where we still must find appreciation in the most trying times and realize what it means to know we are blessed...  And no matter what we think in the moment we truly are always blessed.  

While we don't always know what will come our way... What we do know is that through God, prayer, family and friends there is always a way and having faith assures us that we will find it.

Are you living up to potential?  Do you ever think you can do more?  If you have that thought, even for a moment, then chances are you can and you know you can!   What is holding you back?  What could possibly keep you from reaching what you are capable of achieving?  It isn't others... Those type of obstacles should be fuel to the fire of determination you must have to reach for your goals each and everyday!  It can't be limitations... The only true limitations are ones we allow ourselves to realize!  What holds us back often times is doubt within ourselves.  Somewhere along the way we allowed some person or thing to get to us and create feelings like we can't do it, we shouldn't do it or worse yet we don't deserve it.  Thing is it's not about deserving anything it's about earning it!  It's about pushing yourself and fighting for your dreams!  You've faced so much already why would you let anything stop you now?  Why would you allow others to dictate your potential?  Only you know your passions!  Only you know your ability!  Only you know your commitment!  Only you know what your potential is, and the beauty of it all is you have the power, the faith, the support and the blessings within to reach it, to be it and to exceed it!  So I'll ask again... "Thank you"!  "Job well done"! "Way to go!"  Recognition is important.  When someone does something well we should find ourselves taking the time to show them appreciation.  We should acknowledge them for what they have been able to accomplish.  Sometimes though in that recognition we overlook why they were able to accomplish it.  The fight, the dedication, the commitment, their character and attitude...  The affirmation of who they are and showing our gratitude for that.  We all have those special people in our lives.  The ones whose ability to inspire comes by just being themselves!  Take notice of their focus on the values, blessings and beauty of life that gives them an ability to push even when the odds are stacked against them.  It's not by accident...They have faith in God's plan and the willingness to show it, live it and lead by it!  Appreciate those that reach the peak, but take a moment to also acknowledge just how much their pursuit of life from the valleys to those peaks means to you.  Cherish those people!  Let them know you recognize they are a blessing and tell them how much they inspire you to climb to peaks of your own!

All the lessons you learn, trials you face and even things yet to come will be a part of, and in some cases, test the foundation you have built. The most extraordinary thing about those events is we control how we approach and perceive them. We control what we will do with the experience and how we grow while in it.  There are blessings in everything and understanding that the blessings of life come to us through the love of living life helps bring it into perspective. Our children, loved ones, our family, friends, the lives we have touched and the ones that have touched ours all matter.  It isn't so much that we are blessed, but that we realize just how blessed we will always continue to be.  Remember even in our darkest moments God will present us with blessings.  We just have to be willing to take notice, and it's the darkest of moments that the smallest light shines through.  So if you are feeling like your light isn't shining because of things in your life stop and look around and realize just how many people are using your light to illuminate their path!

You can't expect to get something out of that which you don't put in!  It's not enough to talk about what you want.  It's not enough to lay out the plans of what could be or what you wish would happen! You could spend all day talking about "what if" and all the ways something could play out, or you could influence the outcome!  You have to put in the effort!  You have to get up, get going, commit and be ready for what comes!  You have to be willing to improvise along the way.  You have to be willing to take the good with the bad.  You have to be willing to grow in the moment and relish the experience!  Set a goal and set it high!  Chase it every single day!  Better yourself... Study, read, observe.  Allow yourself to ask questions and never stop appreciating the privilege of self development. Educate yourself and share what you know so that others may benefit from your experiences.  Do your best to give more than you take!  Pray, give thanks, give praise... Be open to the beautiful blessings God gives you to help you on this journey!  Take them and make them matter!  You want life?  Then it's up to you to start living it!

What is your biggest concern about it?  Didn't you work up to this? So there is no way to tell how far you can go... You just have to go!  You prayed about it.  You are encouraged by those who love you!  Yes there are those who say you can't, but you have learned to channel their thoughts to the energy needed to try harder!  Remember that you don't have anything to prove!  God loves you for you, and your closest supporters will always love you!  They don't want you to do it for them... Why are you waiting until tomorrow to pursue your dreams?

Sometimes we allow ourselves to get so compartmentalized we don't realize the things we have been missing. Honestly, our silos give us comfort... Within those comfort zones we can loose the passion for the extraordinary dreams we once had.  We may even start to believe they don't exist or worse we wouldn't be supported beyond those spaces.   Don't get me wrong we all have those necessary responsibilities to provide the basics for life, but those compartments we create can prevent us from living sometimes.  I've learned over the years that the many walls that we often build can be broken down.  Sometimes by ourselves, by an event in our lives, even by those who are willing to tear down wall after wall until they reach us.  Regardless of how you find a way to move beyond those walls trust that you can!  Trust there are those who will support you when you do!  Trust that the path goes on and on beyond where you are!  That is if you want to go!  The blessings will be there when you do ready and willing to hold you up, to pull you and push you, to lend you faith, to reassure your abilities, to give you the comfort you felt in that silo... The comfort that only God and His blessings can provide.  

So what are you waiting for?  

Move beyond that silo! If you are dreaming it right now then chances are it's more than worth it to start pursuing it today!

Have you ever been in a situation where you had to make a decision, but neither choice seemed good?  What do you do?  How are you going to handle it?  What if one turns out to be worse than the other?  Yes...  What if?  The worse decision in this scenario is not making one!  The reality is the longer you allow yourself to contemplate the outcomes the worse you are going to make yourself feel.  We often rely on leaning towards what we know, but sometimes relying on faith in God's plan as we venture into the unknown is what we must do.  It simply means we have no idea how things could turn out until they do, but we must focus on believing God will provide us the blessings to handle it along the way.  After all this may be the opportunity we have been waiting for to experience something we never have!  So gather your faith, say a prayer thanking God for the ability to have choices... Because there are always decisions to be made. So make them!  This may be the chance to test ourselves, to rely upon our strengths and to show that we truly do believe in ourselves and the unbelievable possibilities that may simply be one choice away.

The mountain is so high!  You can't help but question if you will ever reach that peak.  Thing is no matter how hard it gets you can't give up!  You can't stop trying!  You are better than that!  I realize it is difficult to see sometimes that you are progressing.  As much as you have been fighting you feel like you should be so much farther along!  Truth is, others see it, but we are harder on ourselves than anyone ever could be.  Sometimes though it takes a valley to push us to our peak!  As long as we don't allow ourselves to fall short for fear of the climb to come!  Think about the real progression you have made.  Look where you are today!  Your faith in God, His faith in you to handle the adversity, the strength you have built up, the resilience you have developed over the course of this journey...   It's all there, but we get clouded in our setbacks so much that we overlook our achievements.  Look at the joy around you.  Listen to the encouragement of the people who know what you have already accomplished.  Allow yourself to feel the comfort of the blessings God surrounds you with... Those blessings that give you the time you need to get back up and fight for what you believe in!  Don't ever doubt that you have everything it will take to get to exactly where you know you are capable of being!  It may not happen as quickly as you would like, but trust it is happening at the exact pace God intends so that you will understand and appreciate the beauty of that peak once you are there.

Daily BITUB- "Extremes"

Have you ever been caught up in extremes?  Over the years I have found myself in situations that created extreme emotions.  It was overwhelming to go from one state of mind to an entirely different one in a matter of minutes, but it happens.  It is draining even for the most spiritual and faithful of minds.  While I felt like it was my fight for years to understand it I realized that slowing down and reflecting on the situation helped to control the emotions wrapped up in those extremes, and then clarity followed.  The key for me was finding comfort in prayer.  Asking God for balance... To be firm yet empathetic.  To be patient, but not complacent.  To not want too much, but not expect too little.  To give me the perspective needed to see what exactly that balance in those situations we all face should be.  The real balance was understanding that God can answer prayers in many ways, but He can't do it without our faith, our strength and our ability to embrace the way He answers them... The balance of what we expect VS what He knows we need.  So as life deals you circumstances and you find yourself at extremes focus on finding your balance.  It's there you realize just how much that balance is actually the blessing you have been praying for.

You may succeed, achieve, reach your goals by doing the things you do.  You may win all by yourself in certain aspects of life, but there will be those moments when you are not enough.  It's ok.  While you may win alone you shouldn't ever lose alone.  There are too many people that want you to succeed!  The ones who cheer for you, back you, support your dreams and wait in the wings to catch you and to hold you up when you need it most. The ones God places in your path to help you stay true to your path.  They encourage you to move on and push back when you push them away. The ones who demand you never feel abandoned. Are you going through the motions?  Don't really feel it?  That goal seems far, but you are just not that worried about it?  You wake up thinking you need today to be different?  You fall asleep wondering what you did all day and if it even mattered?  Remember - If your dreams don't ignite you then chances are it's not your dream!  We can get caught up in living other's dreams.  Doing what we think we should rather than living as we know we can will eventually catch up to us.  Don't allow people to hold you back!  In fact think about the people in your life today.  Think about your priorities and responsibilities.  We all have responsibilities and the people in your life should be a part of the magnificent transformation involved in you reaching your peak!  Bring those that matter with you! Why aren't you being yourself?  You can't change because you think it's what people want.  I've tried it and it doesn't work.  Change is necessary in certain situations.  Sometimes you need it to move away from a place, person... You need that change.  Sometimes you have habits that aren't good and so you must change that.  Some change comes when we least expect it and even when we don't want it.  Regardless of when, how and why you must not allow it to take away from you... The real you!  Being you is testimony to your values, beliefs and all you are.  It's embracing the beauty of your individuality and the gifts God has given you to share.  We are all unique in who we are and in how we approach life.  The same things bring different emotions out of each of us.  The moments we share give us all a different perspective of that memory.  Finding the unique in one another, embracing the blessings those differences bring to our lives and facing change together allowing each person to bring their blessings to that moment is what makes life so beautiful.  I've heard the only constant is change.  Well I've said it before... Change is inevitable, but the constant can and always should be you! You being you!  You and your ability to go through life growing, experiencing and allowing yourself to be better, but never losing sight of the beauty that is you.

Thing is it may be all of it and truth is it can be.  I hear people everyday say they wish they could, I should have been this or done that, I could if I wanted to!  

Well then why not now?  

Why not you?  

Realizing what our real calling is takes looking within, past our doubts and past the limitations we may have set for ourselves some time ago. It is understanding that we are not required to accept the role we currently play if it isn't the one we feel destined to be!  God gives us so much to choose from and so many blessings to help us as we make those choices.  Remember that true happiness can only come from a honest understanding and acceptance of who we are.  It is being clear with our own expectations and not lowering those because the path gets hard.  Have faith in God's plan and use it to push yourself to the possibilities of what you can accomplish!  Live the life you are capable of living and allow those around you to witness your strength, example and passion as you focus on being the blessing that is you!

Perspective and perception are powerful things.  Every moment gives us that opportunity to assess how we will see it.  Experience, our environment, the people involved all can influence what we see and what it means to us. Yet, often we can overlook the obvious that should matter most... Us.  What does it really mean to us? What role do we play in this moment?  What is the significance?  What do we see when we really look at all the pieces that make up that big picture?  What perspective do we bring to this moment?  I've heard perception is reality, but it is our perception that allows us to shape that reality. It is our focus on the day to day things that we deem important, necessary and crucial to our lives that matters. Everyday we will choose the way we want to begin the day, we will determine how we take it on as things happen throughout it and every night we get to assess exactly how we perceive we did. Perspective! If you are looking at life and wondering what you see, and if perception truly is reality... Then make sure you see that God, faith, the ability to live our lives, the blessings within and the many opportunities to reach our goals and dreams are always present if we allow them to be! Present no matter when, where, or how we choose to look at life today.

God's blessings come in many forms.  Sometimes we ask ourselves how this possibly could be a blessing... Those are the ones in disguise.  It may take days, months, even years to realize them, but when we do the impact in our lives often provide perspective.  It gives us clarity and helps push us on our way.  Then, there are the other blessings.  The families we hold dear.  The children who become our lives.  The friends who become like family.  The opportunity to smile through tough situations and to cry through those same ones.  The quiet of a moment and the answer of a prayer.  The blessings that aren't in disguise, but we may forget they are there.  Not because we don't appreciate them, but we just sometimes need to remember the perspective they bring as often they may not push us, but rather walk along side us every step of the way.  Yes... God's blessings come in many forms, and faith tells us no matter how they come we can trust that they always will exactly at the moment God knows we will need them most.

Daily BITUB- "The Storm"

They say there is a quiet before the storm, and often we don't notice that blessing until the storm hits.  Reality is no matter how hard we try storms will hit.  That is part of living life and experiencing the good and bad of it all.  I have come to learn that there is also a calm within the storm.  That eye where we get to catch our breath.  Sometimes it is big and sometimes it is subtle.  It's hard to notice sometimes as it manifests itself in the form of a friend, a helping hand, a smile, a shoulder… Comfort, help, encouragement and even frustration from others that we are not living up to our potential.  Sometimes it is simply the quiet of prayer as we do our best to make sense of it all.  Then there are the big moments where sometimes it takes losing the things we think we want so that we may find the things God knows we need.  The only way out of that storm is through it, and through it is exactly where God, your faith, your strength, your family and friends, your prayer will be... With you every step of the way.   So catch your breath if you are in that storm, gather your blessings and let's get to the other side.

Daily BITUB- "What are you going to do?"

What do you truly want out of life? What do you truly need?  Maybe you want success.  Maybe you are still defining what success means to you.  Maybe you want riches.  Maybe you want kids, marriage, to teach, to travel... Maybe you want and need all of it!  Then maybe all you want is to feel good about you.  Regardless of the reasoning behind why you want/need those dreams the fact you are dreaming is the first step to achieving your potential. The next step is to determine exactly what it is that will create the desire and commitment necessary to overcome everything along the way to get there.  Our dreams are always well within reach.  Look at the ones that are unfolding right before your eyes!  Look at the ones you are living right now!  It may not be exactly where you want to be, but appreciating the blessings in the place you are now... Well that's God creating the moments necessary to build foundations for the next step of the journey.  So, ask yourself... What do you want and need tomorrow to look like?  More importantly... What are you going to do about it to get there today?
