Faith is believing when it's beyond reason to believe.  Sometimes, though, the challenges of life can bring you face to face with so much doubt that you call your faith into question.  You've been there, I've been there and chances are some people are there right now.  Faith though is ever evolving.  It isn't something we think about sometimes, but it's always an integral part of who we are and plays a role in who we will be.  In fact it's the moments when you feel like it's at its weakest that faith often exists at its strongest. Maybe you don't realize it, but faith is there.  It exists in the blessings that God surround us with. In family, friends and all the people and things we lean upon.  It is faith others have in us! It is our belief in others!  It is there deep in our hearts and strong in our minds!  It exists in experiences we have lived and in all the prayers God has answered!  It is embedded in our journey as we overcome adversity and it is the blessing of waking to the opportunities of a new day!

It is there.  

It is everywhere.  

Faith...  Believing when it is beyond reason to believe.

Either we have it all or we have none!  

Either we do it or we don't!  

It's my way or it's no way!  

We've all said those things and honestly it's easy to fall into extremes when we are faced with ever changing landscapes in our personal and professional lives.  When things aren't going as we had expected then we shift and sometimes it's simply too much.  We often over compensate for things and before you know it we are completely on the other side of where we were.  I'm guilty of it and finding the balance is way easier said than done.  To realize there is a middle ground and our ability to find it will always be there, but it will take work!  Take a step back and take inventory...  See where things can be tweaked, what you may have missed and most of all where you may need help.  Chances are you have people surrounding you ready to lend a hand, ready to be there as you go through that changing landscape and most of all ready to help steady you so that you can find balance long enough to realize that you have.

Don't forget what started it all.  The small things that caught your attention.  The people that sparked that inner fire and motivated you to get up and get going.  Think about the long journeys where you wondered how you would reach the peak standing so far down in the valley, and then you did!  Think about your prayers and how God answered them time and time again.  Remember the pain of those moments and the satisfaction of overcoming.  Think of the joys a long the way... The happiness you experienced with others.  Think of all the people that offered their hand to pull and push you!  Think about the inspirations that wouldn't let you give up!  Think about the smallest blessings, and how today, right here and now those blessings have become the biggest parts of your life.

Such a beautiful thing is a memory of joy.  

Remembering the warmth of a vacation by reminiscing it in your mind... You can hear the laughter of the children and the shouts of friends and family. You can see the venues, taste the food and drinks, feel the air on those late night walks, even hear the stories that were told again and again.  From the first until the last day when you wished it would continue you remember.  The absolute feeling of that memory though is what tells you how very blessed you are that it happened, and you have it whenever you need it.  

Such a beautiful thing is a memory of adversity!  

The way you felt pulled down at times.  The feeling of exasperation as you wondered when would this end.  The countless hours of work, push and challenges you faced.  The late nights, the early mornings, the extra time you put in learning what you needed to progress.  The vigorous and long schedules.  The setbacks and naysayers.  From the first until the last day when you wished it wouldn't continue you remember.  The absolute feeling of that memory though is what tells you how very blessed you are that it happened, and you have that too whenever you need it.

Every day we encounter a blessing, but we don't always realize how blessed we are.  Sometimes we don't fully grasp how that blessing inspires us or how much and how often it influences our actions, our decisions, our lives. God why did You answer that prayer that way?  It wasn't what I wanted.  It wasn't what I had in mind.  Why would You not do what I asked for?

Why?  

Many times throughout life I've asked that time and time again.  Even though faith tells me to trust in God I found myself at times asking the questions anyway.  There are moments when we all call our choices, our situation, our place in life into question.  There are moments when the trials, the challenges and the adversity wear us down.  It's those moments, however, that provide us with a deeper sense of appreciation for the blessings of life.  They help us to notice what we do have instead of what we don't, and as we stand in our darkest places they give us the ability to see even the smallest bit of light.  

I've said it before...  Just because God doesn't answer our prayer the way we want doesn't mean He didn't answer our prayers exactly the way we needed.

What's next?  Is it your responsibility?  How often we run across a moment when that question must be answered. Take a deep breath.  

Concentrate.  

Focus.  

Imagine the steps.  One by one. Think about the journey.  Picture the path.  Remember the bumps in the road... The mountains... The valleys.  Draw from those moments that which you need to realize how much you have done.  Use it to understand how much you can do!  Ask yourself who determines your limitations.  You are the one who knows what you are capable of achieving!  You know better than anyone what it will mean to you once you reach your potential, and then you will realize how much more potential you are capable of.  You have a goal!  You have a mission!  Visualize the outcome and allow yourself to influence each moment!  Give yourself the confidence you deserve!  Allow your life to be everything you need it to be!  Don't doubt yourself!  Take a stand right here and right now!  Commit to your future!  Promise yourself that you will do all you can to chase your dream...  And then focus on keeping that promise.

Daily BITUB- "Believe"

We don't believe because it's an obligation.  We believe because we can.  We believe because we know God is with us.  We understand that every moment comes to us through His hands.  We trust in our values and we are blessed in our ability to have faith in who we are and where our journey will lead us.  The road is long... The path has valleys... But all that is worth the beauty in living life and all that comes with it.  Even within the doubt, the fear, the unknown we are strong because we know that we are never facing it alone.  We are surrounded by God, by family, by friends and the experiences we have been blessed to share with them and the ones still to come.

Daily BITUB- "Forward"

You've prayed about it.  You've talked about it with others.  You've asked God for guidance.  So now what?  You can sit and think about the outcome over and over, but at some point you must make the decision to set things in motion.  The crossroads we encounter throughout life are important, but we won't always know the impact of our next step until we make it, and reality is we may not always end up where we thought we would.  Sometimes it's the missteps that shape us.  It's our reaction, our perception and how we handle those missteps that matter most.  Remember we made the choices that put us here and thus we are empowered to learn, grow and to make the choices that will begin to move us forward.  

Forward... One decision, one step, one misstep, one leap of faith at a time!
