We can overcome and we can become anything we truly want and need to be.  We can create positive pathways that illuminate the rooms that negativity makes dark. We can focus on the positive in every situation. We can grow and we can participate in anything and everything we want to be a part of.  Our role in that is up to us! Our character and energy will be defined by what we know, choose to learn, teach, fight for, and how we hold on to the ability to trust in faith!  These are opportunities.  Think about how many beautiful moments are in just one day.  Moments of influence, moments we can make a difference in someone's life, moments where we can make a difference in our own life.  The choices we make to be happy, to see the good, to be part of the solution can be the catalyst for someone to realize they can too.  So, take this day and make it yours!  Take this day and make your moments matter!

Are you living? I mean truly living? Do you wake up ready to experience life and all its splendor? Are you committed to pushing through any obstacle that you are blessed to grow from? Are you dedicated to the dreams you dream? Why not be stubborn in your goals?  Put them out of reach and chase them constantly!  Run them down relentlessly! Raise the bar in every aspect of your experience! Set the standard and expect more from yourself each and every day! Ask for more! Demand it!  Remember God is not obligated to give us the scenario we deem perfect. No, He gives us what we need to become exactly what we are destined to be.  We don't deserve life, we must earn it! We must earn it by facing it vulnerable, exposed, honest and true so that it can be a part of the real us! Tell people who you are, who you want to be, and why you are going to be it. Daily BITUB- “Still There”

I've tried my best and still fell short.  I've given it my all and it still wasn't enough.  I've given up, I've given in, I've lost my way.  I've stopped praying, stopped caring, and lost faith.  I've questioned God, I've pushed others away, and I've blamed others for things I've done.  Yet, despite all that, God has never given up on me.  He has continued to be there even when I wasn't.  He has put people in my life that have lifted me up, supported me, and lent me their faith until I found mine.  Even the strongest in faith sometimes lack it.  It doesn't mean you can't get it back.  It doesn't mean you can't come back even stronger.  It doesn't mean you didn't learn, grow, experience.  It doesn't mean you shouldn't share those moments so that others can see they are not alone.  They are not alone and neither are you, nor have you been.  In fact, it's in those moments we find ourselves in the dark that God gives us the ability to see even the smallest of lights.  We may not notice it immediately, but it's there.  There when we are ready to see it.  There when we are ready to allow it to remind us that even in our darkest moments there are blessings. Blessings that remind us that no matter what we have faced, here we are.  We've made it through many trials and we must believe that we will make it through this one too.

Daily BITUB- “Doors”

Sometimes it's hard to convince ourselves to open that door.  There is so much uncertainty of what could be on the other side.  Even though we may be frustrated with our current place or situation, we find ourselves asking what if it's worse?  What if we can't handle it?  What if, what if, what if?  Despite all the uncertainty of what lies beyond that door, there is also the beauty in knowing the certainty that God is right there with us as we open it.  The certainty that we have people to support us, experience to help guide us, and faith to lean on.  There is certainty, for many, that where they are is not where they want to be, so having a chance to change that is better than settling.  Beyond those doors is something new.  The chance of something amazing, the promise of a new experience, the hope that there is more!  Where are you, where do you want to go and where are you actually headed?  Only you can decide that.  Only you can take all the negative thoughts of uncertainty and create positive thoughts of possibility!  So what are you waiting for?  Sometimes opportunity won't knock, we have to believe enough to open the door anyway.

Some things are harder than others.  There are a lot of factors that go into that and honestly what may be hard for you today may not be tomorrow.  That is up to you though. You must be willing to take things on in order to develop your strengths. Train them by taking on everything that comes your way. Don't fear the outcome- Influence it! Your experience will guide you! Allow your instincts to take over. You've faced this adversity and you've overcome it time and time again. You've sharpened your senses, fine-tuned your skills and learned to function even in the toughest environments. You got this!  Believe in you and look around, you'll see how many people already do!  Remember you are not alone. The path you are on is filled with blessings. Despite where you are today, know that God has you exactly where you need to be to get to where He needs you to go.

Take each victory and use that momentum to propel you into what must come next.  There are steps that must be taken, milestones along the way, and small goals that make up the big picture.  Focus on what's in front of you, but always keep your eye on the destination!  Appreciation of what you've done and the person you are is being willing to continue with the same passion and drive that brought you here. Each step of the way you are closer to achieving the next level of you, the next opportunity, the next moment to be better!  That's all the more reason to raise your own expectations! Remember our limitations are set by us. So why set them? Why settle when we can excel? Why not want to do more? Why not trust that we can achieve it? It's your pursuit of happiness! So, make sure that you are really happy with what you are choosing to pursue and how you are choosing to pursue it!  Then gather up your blessings, give thanks to God for the opportunity, and go get it!

Daily BITUB- “It Doesn’t Go Away”

Tackling your challenges requires you to take notice of them first. We've all done it- avoided, ignored, even pretended it was ok when it wasn't. Sometimes we may think that the easy way out is to simply overlook the adversity in our life. Reality is it doesn't go away and more often than not it turns back up at the most in opportune times.  So, instead of ignoring why not dig  in?  Plant your feet firmly on that foundation of love, trust, hope and faith you have created over the years.  Look inside at all your passion and all the experiences where you have surmounted what seemed impossible time after time! Flex your spirit and focus on the belief in you from all those that matter most in your life! Channel God's blessings that protect you and arm you for any and all challenges, obstacles and adversity that you come face to face with!  Look at who you are! See what you are capable of being! Know that there are no roadblocks that you are not fit to overcome! Quit allowing yourself to succumb to those valleys and start looking up to the peak you will be standing on soon! Remember there are no unrealistic dreams, only unrealistic limitations.  Take every moment and charge forward towards those dreams.  You already have what it takes.  You simply have to believe you do!

How often have you got caught up in trying to live up to someone's expectation? An expectation that isn't aligned at all with what's important to you.  An expectation that isn't a part of your goals and dreams.  Often we end up so focused on those people we miss the importance of those that we want to be better for- Our families, friends, and supporters! Think of all the beauty that exists in first realizing that you have found something and someone that changes your perspective to want to be better. That moment where you realize that all you are will be enough for them and it makes you want to be more for them. They are your motivation, inspiration, and share in your vision of what can be!  So stop trying to live up to other's expectations and start living up to your own!  Then you can stop focusing on the negative of people that you must live with, and instead put your energy into the positive blessings of the people you live for!

You have to find your happy.  It will never be enough if you don't have that.  There is no money, no job, no relationship that can sustain you if you aren't happy.  If it doesn't excite you, drive you, or inspire you, that void it will create can never be filled.  Think about that as you chase your dreams.  Think about it as you work towards your goals.  You might need to change your focus, and that's ok.  It's never too late to do that, and now is as good a time as any.  Don't settle for things because you are afraid of what it might take to reach your peak!  The climb will be that much more meaningful.  The obstacles that much easier to overcome.  The adversity and naysayers that much easier to push through.  If it matters to you, if you know it aligns with your values, your morals, your purpose, then go after it.  Take a leap of faith and know God will provide and you, no matter where you land, will be that much closer to finding just what your "happy" truly needs to be.

Why do you let them rattle you?  Negative people only have power over you when you allow them to have it.  Why allow them to steal your moments?  Why allow them to cast shadows?  Don't let them control your day.  Instead why not control it by being the positive influence?  Why not shine so bright that there isn't any place for the shadows to exist?  Why not take each moment that comes your way and find the good?  I know it's easier said than done, but it can be done.  There are lessons to be learned.  There are things to experience.  There are limitations to surpass, obstacles to overcome, and fears that must be faced.  Nobody promised that life would be easy, but we can make a promise to ourselves to live life to the fullest.  To give ourselves a chance to be happy.  To enjoy the simple things and push ourselves to reach the bigger ones.  To be appreciative of this beautiful gift that God has given us.  To take it and live it.  To want it and be it.  To love and be loved.  To Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU!

Daily BITUB- “Answers”

I don't know the answers.  Sometimes I don't even know or understand the question.  What I do understand is that somethings must be figured out as you go.  Sure we can take our experience, gather up what we do know, make a plan based off what might happen, and give it a go.  What we can't overlook though is that we may encounter something we aren't ready for. We may face a situation we never have.  That's where doubt, fear, and anxiety can set in.  That's when we may wonder if we need to turn back or abandon our dream.  That's when we must rely on the things we don't know and trust.  That's when we need to simply stop and pray.  Pray for direction.  Pray for clarity.  Pray for understanding.  Pray for courage.  Pray and trust.  Trust that things won't always be easy, but there will always be a comfort that God is there with us.  He is there through family, friends, a moment where we realize just how much we can do.  He is there when we lose our way.  There when we don't know what to do, and there when we figure out what we should do.  There to catch us when we realize that the next step is going to have to be a leap. A leap of faith where we can rest assured no matter where we land we will be that much closer to wherever it is God intends for us to be.  Often that is the only answer we will ever need.

Daily BITUB- “Lessons”

I understand things I never thought I would and I see things I never thought I could.  I've learned that I finally get the childhood lessons my parents said I would when I was older, and I know my children will one day too.  I've learned that I have regrets, but that's ok as long as I do my best to not have anymore.  I've learned that status depends on the company you keep, and those that really matter in life could care less as long as you are happy.  I've learned that you can forgive the things you said you never would, but it doesn't mean things have to be like they were.  I've learned that individual faith sometimes isn't enough.  That's why God created family and friends.  I've learned that a mom's hug and comfort can heal anything and works from a 1000 miles away.  I've learned that my father's approval mattered and his family's happiness was all that ever mattered to him.  I've learned that my kids have a beautiful mother and her love for us is the foundation of our family.  I've learned that hoping for things to be better is the starting point for the confidence to make it better.  I've learned that true love is unconditional, but that doesn't mean a relationship shouldn't have conditions in order to work.  I've learned that you can give your all and still be beat, but that the experience teaches you why hard work and winning feels so good.  I've learned that it's not about what you deserve, it's about what you are willing to earn.  I've learned that I have too many blessings to count, and that I need to do better not to overlook them.  I've learned that God doesn't ever go away even when we do, and He is right there ready for us when we are ready to come back.  I've learned that every day I am the biggest influence in my life and I choose the people in it, the outcome of my day and the goals for my tomorrow.  I've learned that no dream is to far fetched, and as long as I can dream it then I can achieve it.  I've learned that I still have a lot to learn, but that is the beauty of life and the opportunities it brings with it every day we choose to live it.

There isn't an obstacle we shouldn't be willing to tackle. There is a instinct deep within us that gives us the ability to persevere.  We just have to let ourselves realize it.  We have to allow ourselves to understand that God doesn't pick and choose randomly who gets what.  He gives it to us because He knows we need it! Our doubts may be multiplied by fear, but a focus on faith can quickly provide the strength to overcome those fears. Control the moment.  Give yourself a chance to excel by allowing yourself opportunity!  Obstacles, adversity, pain, doubt, sorrow, fear will inevitably come.  It is through those opportunities we push ourselves that we build the foundation we will need to do, to be, and to become whatever we need to, whenever it does comes!

It's amazing how life can change in an instant. Everything you had, were living for, felt is no longer there.  The tendency may be to look around for the explanation.  You may try and understand what and why this happened.  Stop! Give it to God! There is no power in looking for excuses.  There is no value in blaming, finding ways to dismiss it, looking for ways to let yourself off the hook.  Life is about living and those willing to live get to experience all the things that go with it.  It won't always be great.  It won't always work out.  There will be good and bad, happy and sad, joy and pain.  You have to take all of it and use it to be better.  Reflect on the growth of it all and the blessings embedded within each moment.  That's where you find clarity.  Once you begin to look through eyes of appreciation you realize each instance you are blessed to experience is opportunity!  Remember, life does change! We grow and evolve! What must remain constant is our faith. Faith that while life is lived and plans will change it is still part of God's plan. Knowing that makes it easier to hope for the next opportunity in life.  The opportunity that comes with each new day to have, to live, and to feel... No matter what comes our way!

It's too early in the year for adversity, isn't it?  Thing is, adversity has no idea that it's a new year!  It doesn't know that we have plans, goals or that we may doubt we can face it!  Adversity is always ready to challenge us!  It needs no time frame, no moment, no perfect time.  It is there and can overpower us if we let it!  It's our ability to realize that we are ready to handle it that creates the difference.  It's our ability to see how strong we are, how much experience we bring to the table, and that no matter when the challenge comes we are ready to take it head on!  Maybe it's perspective.  As hard as it may be, let it be a blessing.  Let it be a lesson.  Let it be a catalyst for growth!  Let it give you something to overcome early on so you can begin to build your strength for the year!  God knows exactly what day it is and what time it is.  He knows exactly when and what we need to grow.  He knows why we need it and has faith that we can and will handle it!  Remember through Him all is possible!  It's those unbelievable moments He gives us, the amazing things we have been blessed to experience, our most crowning achievements that we forget often started with adversity.  So why not have confidence that you got this?  Whether it's now or later, adversity will come, so have faith in your ability

 to handle whatever comes your way!  Have faith in God's plan.  Have faith and Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU!

I hear it so often.  People wanting things to be different, but yet they aren't willing to do anything to make things different.  Nobody is asking you to change.  Nobody is going to make you change.  If you want things to change then you change it.  You control the pace, the outcome, the reason for that change.  There will always be choices.  If you don't like your current situation, change it.  If you don't like how you are living life, change it.  If you don't like the choices you are making, then change them.  So often we allow others to change it for us.  We allow others to dictate our next steps.  Then before you know it you are living a dream that isn't yours.  It doesn't need to be a New Year resolution to matter.  If you want it to matter then it does.  If you want more, want better, want to chase down your dreams, then be the catalyst for whatever you must change to do it!

Happy New Year!

As we close out 2017 it is so easy to think about everything we didn't do.  Easy to focus on days we think we squandered.  Easy to remember the moments we didn't make better and decisions we regret.  So we walk into 2018 carrying all that.  Of course, we have a choice to make.  We can carry it or we can simply set it down.  We can focus on what lies ahead.  We can put our energy into making things happen.  We can influence the outcome of this year simply by allowing ourselves the opportunity to believe we can.  We can focus on faith.  Faith that God has us.  Faith that He will guide us through this next year just as He did in 2017.  After all, no matter how bad it was, you found your way through it, didn't you?  You pushed past the dark and let your light shine bright enough to put you here in 2018.  Where today you get to start the journey into making this the best year ever!  Where you get to take the beautiful moments, the lessons, the growth you experienced in 2017 and use it all to propel you into 2018.  A 2018 that promises to be whatever you promise yourself you will let it be!  Here's to Believing in the Unbelievable that is YOU and to a blessed year!
