How many times have we faced a day, a moment, a situation where we begged to know where all our blessings had gone. I thought about that and realized how many times I've heard it said and how many times I've said it myself. Looking for those blessings amidst the chaos that life can deal us sometimes clouds our vision from what is right there in front of us. You know we take some things for granted. We may even try to justify it by thinking it's ok because everyone does, but that really is just a way to let ourselves off the hook. We often forget that a blessing is just that... A blessing. It may be our family, our spouse, a friend, a job, our children, a roof over our heads, a comforting gesture from someone, an opportunity to give back. Yes, blessings can be many things, but they always are constant reminders of how beautiful life is and how much God loves us. While we forget to appreciate them sometimes doesn't mean they aren't there. We simply must try to take the moments that move us, that guide us, that give us strength, hope, make us feel loved, allow us to love and give us purpose. Take those everyday moments and look closely at them! Chances are those are the blessings we've been looking for and when we begin to allow ourselves to see we realize they were never lost.
