We must hurry up and get there! We are fixated on reaching our destination! We want to be in that spot so bad. We want the top of that mountain! We want to be on the last rung of that ladder! Then we reach it... Now what? It's not high enough is it? Before you know it life has passed you by. The desire to climb made you forget why you were climbing. You missed the scenery. You missed the small victories. You forgot the lessons, the experiences, the adversity, the triumphs. You overlooked the meaning of it all, and thus the end result isn't as you thought... So, you figure it must be higher, you must climb more, it's simply not what you envisioned. Take a moment and look around you. Take in where you are on your current climb. Maybe you are about to start a new one... Great, but what did you take from this one? Maybe you are mid-climb... Look around you and assess, enjoy, experience this moment. Maybe you haven't started your climb at all... Maybe that's because you are exactly in that place you always wanted to be. Don't be so focused on hurrying up to get there!
