How often have you sat and thought that if you could just talk to your younger self you would tell them what not to do? It's funny how that works. I've talked to many people that despite the tough past they had, would relive it rather than face the future. Not necessarily to undo, but because if the familiarity of it all. It's the uncertainty of the future that scares people sometimes. The thought of making more wrong choices, of missing out because they overlooked something, the idea that what lies ahead they must face alone, of simply choosing the wrong path. Truth is we can't change the past, only reflect on it, learn from it, and grow. We can take all those lessons and use them to equip us when we walk into those uncharted areas of our life. If we knew what lay ahead as we know what we've already faced, then we wouldn't need faith. Faith is the light that guides us when it seems impossible to believe things can be ok. Hope is the beacon in the distance we can lock our trajectory on as we move forward. While we can't determine what may come, one thing will always be certain- If we walk with God then we will never be alone, we will never be lost, we will never be on any path He doesn't intend for us to be on. "For we walk by faith, not by sight." (2 Corinthians 5:7)
