"One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered." Proverbs 11: 24-25
Giving of yourself is not, and never should be, an obligation. It is a privilege. Everyday we are presented with that privilege. Everyday we get to choose how we embrace, accept and use that privilege. We are blessed with countless opportunities to give of ourselves, and lest we forget it's not the capacity to which we give, but that we can and we do. Think about those moments that are ever present throughout the day. A smile for someone, the comfort of a hug, listening to someone vent, being a shoulder, lending someone your faith as they search for theirs. Big or small the opportunities are there. It's easy to want, easy to need and sometimes even easier to forget our influence in each other's lives, but realizing the beauty of being there for someone often helps us to remember all the blessings we have experienced when someone was there for us. Remember, life is an amazing and blessed gift from God. As you live it, make a conscious effort to simply give more than you take.
Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you are blessed to give and you find those moments to be exactly as God intended them to be.
