While everyday God provides us something to be thankful for...  It is on this day that the overwhelming feeling of gratitude is present in us all. It is a day where you might reflect on the past year and how things may have not been exactly as you had hoped. You may think about the challenges you faced, the set backs, even the moments you felt that today was the day you gave up on that dream.  It is in those reflections though you get to see yourself as so many others do.  You see the undeniable gifts that God bestows on you as you come face to face with someone who has overcome, who continues to fight for their beliefs, who inspires, motivates and is surrounded by blessings that lift up and hold tight as you progress through your journey.  It is a reflection that shows the support of so many standing with you, the love of those that matter most and the beauty in a life filled with the abundance of God's unconditional love.  A love that provides opportunity to be your blessings, to pursue your goals, to love and be loved, to share, to create, to persevere, to dream...  A love that lets you stand back and give thanks for this day.  Another day the Lord has made.  Another day where you get to be glad and rejoice in it. Another day to be thankful for everything this life has already given and has yet to offer.  Another day where you realize just how thankful you truly are and how so many are thankful for you.

Daily BITUB- "Questions"

So many things happen around us that can cause us to question why.  There are constant battles that ensue that challenge our faith, that attempt to diminish hope and that bring darkness into our lives.  Try as we might to avoid those experiences they will happen.  They will happen and the answers we seek aren't going to come so easily.  So what do you do?  I've often said that we must do our best everyday to simply give more than we take and that while we may not change the world we can be strong in our values, our morals in our foundation so that no matter what happens around us we don't allow the world to change us.  So today I simply am pausing to pray for those that need it most, for those that need help believing and for those that need the strength of our faith while theirs is being challenged.  

Today I ask you to pray with me for it is through Him all great things shall come. 

Our Father who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy Name. 

Thy kingdom come. 

Thy will be done, 

On earth as it is in heaven. 

Give us this day our daily bread. 

And forgive us our trespasses, 

As we forgive those who trespass against us. 

And lead us not into temptation, 

But deliver us from evil. 

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory, 

for ever and ever.

Daily BITUB- "Why not?"

Stop thinking about the bad in it!  Why put yourself in that place of doubt?  There is so much already there, and so many people who look at a sitiuation and see nothing but negative.  They find everything they can to say no, I can't, I won't, I don't believe.  They shy away from the challenge because it is easier then stepping up and accepting that they may have to go to a place within they have never before.  Isn't that the beauty in a challenge?  Isn't that what makes us who we are?  Think about all those people who have reached beyond themselves and found those places they never knew existed.  Think back to yourself and those moments as a child that you rushed into the unknown confident that whatever it was you wanted it to be!  It's still in you!  That passion, drive, the ability to be determined that you can and the positive thoughts to be confident that you will.  Yes it's there!  Now is as good as time as any to find it again!  

So...  Why not start by thinking the good into today?

Take the moment and savor the blessing.  Make it a memory.  Make it one of those beautiful times that you draw from when things get tough...   Those times when things aren't going as you had hoped, you wonder why it's happening and question when it will be better.  Use it to remember when it was better, how it felt, what you faced to get there and how it will be worth it to get there again.  Take the moment to rebuild your strength.  To pause, pray and be thankful for the good in your life.  Let it be a reminder of your faith and the gifts that God has given so that you may endure the challenges, overcome the adversity and persevere through the obstacles so that you may reach those places that you know you can.  Those places where your dreams live, faith is your foundation and hope resides to help you see all of today's opportunities...  Today and everyday where you'll once again have the blessing of making your moments memories.

Daily BITUB- "Greener Grass"

Sometimes you can't help but notice the greener grass on the other side of that fence.  In fact you stand in awe of it thinking about what it would be like to be there.  You imagine what it will be like.  You tell yourself to climb the fence.  You convince yourself it will be worth it. You have to take that journey sometimes.  You have to experience it for yourself.  It make take years to understand what the real priorities are.  It may bring some of the hardest moments you'll ever experience.  All of it though is what makes up who you are.  Remember...   The journey is long and it is a blessing to be able to take the long way around and to be able to take all of God's beauty in.  To see the things you must see.  To feel the things you must feel.  All of it is part of the path that often brings you to a place where once you slow down long enough to look around you may just find the grass you are standing on is greener than anything you have ever experienced...  

And you realize it is this place where you are exactly supposed to be.

Everything about you matters!  You are a child of God.  You are someone's everything.  You are someone's motivation.  You are someone's inspiration.  You have things that you want to share and you should!  You have dreams that you want to pursue then you must pursue them!  Whatever you are willing to put into life I assure you it can take it!  Remember there are no unrealistic dreams...  Only unrealistic limitations.  Limitations that are set by others.  Limitations that do nothing but create excuses and allow us to say we can't do it before we even put forth the effort...  Effort that provides an experience so we understand exactly how much we truly can do!  There are so many blessings in life...  Be those blessings!  Take the day, embrace the moment, trust in faith and believe in all the unbelievable possibilities that reside within you!

Daily BITUB- "You are worth it!"

Isn't it worth the fight?  Aren't you worth it?  Just because it's out of reach today doesn't mean you give up on it!  When you first set the goal you set the path, and you wouldn't have if it didn't matter.  Isn't it worth you pushing yourself beyond limitations?  Think about all the words of encouragement you give those in your life! Think about the times you told someone they can't give up!  Remember those moments you prayed and asked for strength...  Remember what it felt like when it came?  What about the promise you made to live life?  What about the dreams you said you wanted to dream? What about your commitment to the task and all the sacrifices you've already made?  You knew it wasn't going to be easy, but that didn't stop you from realizing it was important!  You knew it would get hard, you knew you would reach this wall...  You've been here, and you've overcome before!  

So I'll ask again.  Isn't it worth the fight?  Aren't you worth it?  Just ask those people standing by your side.  They already believe in you so it's time you started to Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU!

Breathe...

Take a step back and look at it with fresh eyes.  Give yourself a moment to adjust to the situation.  You need to evaluate where you are, where others are and assess where you want to be.  Take away the anger, the frustration and the negative and refocus your emotions where they should be.  

Get ready!

Breathe...  

Say a prayer.  Ask for guidance, for clarity and for the ability to do the things you know you can and to say the things the way you should.  Take control of the situation and put it into perspective.  See what you need the end result to be and the path you must take to get there.

Get set!

Breathe...

Gather up your blessings.  Take notice of the positive that surrounds you.  Remember the strength of the foundation of faith you are standing on. The task, the challenge, the obstacle...  It doesn't matter what it is you are equipped with whatever you need and the rest trust that God will provide along the way.  

Now, take a step back and look at it with the eyes of experience and a heart filled with faith.

Breathe...

Faith is believing when it's beyond reason to believe.  Sometimes, though, the challenges of life can bring you face to face with so much doubt that you call your faith into question.  You've been there, I've been there and chances are some people are there right now.  Faith though is ever evolving.  It isn't something we think about sometimes... It is an integral part of who we are and plays a role in who we will be.  In fact it's the moments when you feel like it's at its weakest that faith often exists at its strongest. Maybe you don't realize it, but faith is there.  It exists in the blessings that God surround us with. In family, friends...  All those people and things we lean upon.  It is faith others have in us! It is our belief in others!  It is there deep in our hearts and strong in our minds!  It exists in experiences we have lived and in all the prayers God has answered!  It is embedded in our journey as we overcome adversity and it is the blessing of waking to the opportunities of a new day!

It is there.  

It is everywhere.

What did you learn yesterday?  

How blessed we are in that we get to learn something new everyday.  There are an endless amount of lessons in our lives.  Some so subtle that we don't even understand what we learned until it strikes us as we reflect upon the day.  Some life changing that give us perspective and call upon us to do things differently in our lives. These lessons help us create, imagine, set goals and dream the dreams that push us to places we never thought we could or would go.  They help us to gain perspective, to appreciate, to take notice of our role and our ability to impact and influence the outcome of our lives and the lives of others.  There are lessons that can change our outlook on the direction we are headed, alter our priorities and give us new ones.  Lessons that strengthen our faith, give us hope and remind us simply that God is ever present and the beauty in the opportunity to learn is simply another blessing He puts in our lives.

Now is the time!  Not tomorrow, not next week...  Now!  Pick up the phone, visit, text...  Whatever you can do then do it!  Let those that matter to you know they do. Let them understand their place in your life.  Tell them they bring you joy!  Tell them they have motivated you!  Tell them they inspire you to be better!  Tell them you appreciate the blessings they bring!  Tell them thank you for believing in you, for supporting you, for caring and letting you care back!  Pray for and with them. Thank God for those people that you live for each day.  Tell them you value their thoughts, their spirit, the good within them!  Tell them thank you for expressing their faith and showing you the importance of that!  Tell them you love them and you feel their love for you!

Daily BITUB- "Focus Your Energy"

We can overlook opportunity.  We can miss all of the possibilities that lie within a moment.  We can become so focused on our past, on adversity, on negativity, on all the things we wish we had done that we simply let life pass us by.  I've said it before... Focusing on what you don't have often leads to overlooking all the things you do.  It can lead to forgetting what you have worked for, make you lose sight of the path... Even make you stop pushing yourself to achieve your dreams.  Sometimes it's easier to say "I can't" then to push yourself beyond the doubt and through your limitations.  

Step back and focus all your energy on the blessings that exist right here and right now!  Look at the foundation those blessings create.  Allow yourself to move beyond your comfort zone and to open up the doors that are presented to you each and everyday.  Take the opportunities given and create the momentum you need to reach beyond yourself to the dreams you've long sense forgotten!  Start focusing on all the beauty you do have and soon you'll realize everything you need God is already providing it each and everyday!

Today I take a moment to say thank you to all the veterans.  So many of our grandfathers, grandmothers, brothers, sisters, moms, dads, friends and family have served and provided us with our freedoms.  They have sacrificed so much so we can have the opportunities we have to do all the things that freedom allows. They are heroes without ever asking to be.

You tell others what you are going to do.  You want support.  Then you are tougher on yourself than anyone could ever be. You let the naysayers create doubt.  Thing is...  You forget that your biggest supporter, your greatest asset, your biggest fan should be YOU!  There is enough doubt around us... We don't have to contribute to it.  Why not use that negativity to fuel the drive?  Why not instead of focusing on the bad you focus on your strengths, have confidence in your abilities and have faith that all you are and all you can be is, and always will be, up to you!  You've set the dream in motion the moment you realized it was your dream!  You have goals!  You have aspirations!  Think about why you are doing it.  Think back to what first sparked the pursuit and find the passion that motivated you day one!  You are blessed by opportunity.  Realize that blessing and be confident that the support you need to achieve it is already there in the one place you often overlook...  In YOU!

Daily BITUB- "Spiraling"

"My life is spiraling out of control!  I can't stop spinning and I feel like I'm just falling over and over."

Sometimes the emails I receive make me think of those moments I felt exactly the way someone is describing themselves in that email.  It takes me to those places when faith wasn't an option and my belief in the light or even a tunnel was non existent.  It wasn't easy to stop that spiral, the spin and rock bottom was nowhere in sight...  In fact I felt I was in a bottomless pit destined to spin out forever.  That was until I reached out beyond my doubt and took God's hand...  Don't get me wrong.  It wasn't easy and it didn't happen overnight!  In fact it would be years before I found the confidence to continue on the journey.  It took prayers, reflection, helping hands, more adversity, anger, fear, praying, the faith of others and the belief they had in me for me to see me.  Life simply gets hard sometimes, but it's in those moments we are reminded just how beautiful our beautiful moments are.  It reminds us we are not alone in this journey.  It reminds us about the power of prayer, the strength of hope and the blessing in having faith.  We can't always put ourselves in others shoes to understand what they are feeling, but we can pray that we all realize we are in God's hands...  And that foundation is enough to stop any fall.

Did you pray this morning to start the day?  Did you ask God to look over your family, friends and all those that may just need your prayers?  Did you thank God for the opportunities that await you?  Did you tell Him how grateful you are to be able to go to work, hear your kids laugh...  To wake up.  Did you show an appreciation for your blessings as you went through your morning routine?  Did you slow down long enough to bask in the cool wind, the light of the sun, the quiet time as you got ready for the day?  Did you remember to say "I love you" to your loved ones, to say "have a good morning" to those you passed, to smile at the person stuck in the same traffic you are?  Did you give thanks for this day... This day that the Lord has made?  Did you rejoice in it and the beauty of knowing you can do as much with today as you are willing to allow yourself to do?  

You just never know what awaits you...  You never know if tomorrow you get the chances you are given today.  You never know what will be, but you always know exactly what is...  That is the beauty of living in the moment and appreciating this time, this place, the people in it and the blessings God provides every step of the way.

You've heard it and chances are you've said it...  "Doesn't God know I already have so much going on?"  The answer is yes.  Yes He does!  He knows and that is exactly why something is happening now and why He is right there in your life.  Life's valleys don't come at our convenience...  They come when God knows we are ready to handle them.  Believing that is faith!  Go ahead lift up yours prayers, go ahead and ask others to pray for you and with you...  He is listening and He never gives you something you can't handle or something that won't make you better.  I know it doesn't always feel that way in the moment, and it is often within those moments we tend to forget it... It is in those moments our faith is challenged and we begin to tell God what we don't want instead of thanking him for giving us what He knows we need.  Remember the more weight God places on our shoulders the more balanced we may become!  Instead of questioning "why" take a moment to pray that when it's time you will understand not only why, but that you will be able to take it, use it to strengthen your foundation of faith and to grow in that faith so that no matter what comes you know that in each experience lies your next blessing.

Daily BITUB- "Blessings"

We are surrounded by blessings.  I write about it often.  I speak to groups about realizing the amazing gifts God presents us with and the beauty in realizing those gifts as we progress through the journey.  Today as I was sitting thinking about the weekend I thought about how we sometimes are surprised by those blessings in disguise.  The ones that seem to pop up exactly at the moment we need them.  The ones God puts in our path so that we may experience them to pick us up, lean on and carry us when we need it most.  As my mind wandered more I found myself in awe of the blessings that are in my life now.  I thought about the ones that aren't disguised at all... The ones that everyday are simply there...  The ones we may have a tendency to overlook simply because they never cease to be blessings.  It's easy to find the light in the big blessings in our life, but it's the smallest ones that reside in our minds, hearts and our souls every step of the way.  The smallest ones that at our darkest are the brightest parts of who we are and the answers to prayers we made long ago.  

Today I simply wanted to give thanks for ALL the blessings God bestows upon us.  Grateful and thankful for today and everyday.
