We aren't always going to win... But as I've said before sometimes the victory is in our ability to fight! There are numerous victories  along the journey embedded within those fights that allow us to grow into our true selves.  We all have light and being true to that light allows it to shine at its brightest when we peak in our passions!  However, it is up to us to determine what those passions will be! It is up to us to find them, commit to them and then hold ourselves accountable to the pursuit of them!  This quote reminds me how often it is our inability to be true to ourselves and what brings us real joy that has us chasing after dreams that aren't our own.  Remember we must be honest with ourselves about everything!  As it is that honesty that guides us as it lights the way.  It is that honesty that allows us to be who we are, to be all we are and to be the beautiful blessing that God intended us to be!

What's the goal today?  What are you focused on?  Are you all over the place and can't figure out what comes next?  It happens to all of us, and honestly only you can figure out what must be done!  Start by determining what is important.  You know what it is!  You know what gives you joy!  You know what matters to you!  You know what drives you!  No one can determine that but you!  No one can give you the secret to happiness... Only you know what that happiness looks and feels like to you! Maybe you forgot it because you were too busy trying to create life you forgot to live it.  Maybe you spent your time living someone else's dream and lost sight of your own.  That's ok... Because today is another day!  Now is a perfect opportunity to make the commitment to create the life you know you need!  Come on... You know exactly what it will take and with God leading the way you know you have everything you will need to get there!

Daily BITUB- "Frustrated?"

We have all done it… Been so frustrated at a person, a situation, a moment.  Especially the ones we simply feel like we cannot control.  No matter how we reason, what we say, what we do, when we do it… It always seems to get the same exact output.  Sometimes it takes a complete breakdown of the situation to fully grasp what and why things are happening.  Sometimes it takes us slowing down and assessing the entire picture to determine what is the real outcome we are seeking.  What you also come to find when you look into those moments of frustration is that you are seeking an answer that is clear-Good or Bad. Sometimes though reality is it can be neither, it is simply an answer so that you can move forward on to what can, must and will come next... And while you may not get that definite "good or bad" you are looking for in the moment you must focus on your faith that there are positive possibilities in every scenario.  We must remind ourselves that while we are frustrated sometimes... It is our ability to take that frustrated energy and create a positive energy that helps us realize exactly why we will continue to be blessed by God and His opportunities for us to do what we do each and every day.

We have all heard it or said it ourselves at some point in our lives... "Today is the first day of the rest of our life!"  We take an instance and we do our best to create a starting point.  The place where everything gets to start anew.  In that process, however, we mustn't forget about the many things that helped us have the opportunity to start anew.  Don't dismiss your experience!  Don't dismiss those people in your life who have and continue to support you!  Allow it to be part of the foundation that you built in order to reach that next level. Give yourself credit for what you have faced!  Use it... The adversity, set backs and challenges you have taken head on matter!  If this point in life marks a new beginning allow the memories of your journey to give you a head start!  You've earned that...  Through trials, through your determination to overcome limitations, through your ability to find the blessings amidst the uncertainty!  Remember God's gift of life is filled with an abundance of hope for what can and will be.  After all when you really think about it... What do you stand for?  We all stand for something right?  We all have values and priorities that shape us.  It's what we create our foundations from. It's things we build our very existence on.  It's the people we love!  It's the moments we live with them!  It's the passion, the drive, the emotions, the feeling of living and all that comes with that!  It's being challenged and not backing down!  It's fighting for what you believe in and for all those that believe in you!  It's giving your all and then giving more!  It's living the dream and then sharing it with others!  It's meeting our own expectations and then exceeding them!  It's promises to yourself to do, to be, to create, to nourish your passions and then keeping them even when it feels easier not to.  It's believing that we can stand if we truly allow ourselves the opportunities that exist all around us.

What do you want to happen next?  What do you need to happen next?  Have you even asked yourself those questions lately?  Sometimes you have to, and you may be surprised by your answers!  You may find that you have been stagnant because you simply haven't pushed yourself enough to get to where you want to be.  Transforming yourself into what you truly are capable of isn't ever going to be an easy route.  It will take commitment, dedication and a focus like no other to make the changes you may need to make.  For some it is a tweak in their lives, for others it may be a complete overhaul, but either way recognizing what you are searching for is setting the foundation for growth to get there.  Remember that our biggest blessings started somewhere.  Sometimes they started so small there was no way we could have realized the potential they would bring to our lives... That is until they became an essential part of who and why we are.  Challenge yourself daily!  Motivate yourself by setting higher standards!  Inspire yourself by your experiences and your past achievements!  Give yourself daily feedback!  Be open and honest with areas that YOU want to better!  Thank yourself and reward yourself for the "wins" you achieve!  Most of all give thanks to God for the opportunities you have everyday to make this day the moment that set you on the path to becoming everything you knew you could be!

Daily BITUB- "You got this!"

It can get hard, but asking God to remove it from you is not the answer.  Instead ask Him to give you the strength to see His plan through.  I've been in that place.  That one of total despair.  Angry, confused and lashing out at anything, anybody, including God.  Thing is... God understood and was still there when I was done finding excuses of why I was where I was.  Through the dark, through the fight, through the fear I was better for having lived through it.  The power in persevering is amazing.  It gives you an experience to draw from next time... And there will be a next time.  Remember this... You can't and you shouldn't do it alone.  Asking God for help is often opening our eyes to see that help.  So, let others be there!  Let those blessings surround you!  Rest on them as you grow weary.  Be a part of your growth by allowing others to help you grow! Be a part of your faith by letting it lead the way when you need it most!  Be a part of the beauty in understanding that tomorrow can be better... But we must remember it starts today and it starts with us.

Daily BITUB- "Be a Blessing"

We will never truly know the trials that others are facing.  We may think we do, but often we know only what they are willing to show or tell us.  We all have experiences to share and often times those same experiences can yield different emotions for different people.  So, in speaking to groups I often challenge them to stop trying to put themselves in other's shoes and to focus on helping others to put themselves in God's hands.  After all it is there that we find comfort and often times find ourselves.  While we can't fix everything or everyone we can think about the opportunities we have to support, encourage and be there in those times of need.  We can't fully assess all the experiences that led to the moment, but we can influence that moment by being willing to be the ear they need, the shoulder they want and to lend the faith they may lack.  We have all been in that position where it is the blessings God places all around us that helps us continue the journey, and appreciating them is to be that same blessing when we are called upon to do so.

Being completely open is knowing and trusting who you are and accepting the blessing of allowing others to share in that with you. While we often get sidetracked by the negative in our lives the many positive influences that surround us shouldn't be overlooked. The smallest of gestures…  A smile, a firm handshake, a hug, a cup of coffee on a busy day, a text, an email, a phone call just to say hi, a kind word-Thank you, your welcome, my pleasure, it's going to be ok.  It may be little to you… May only take a few seconds of your entire life, but it may change someone else's entire perspective of their day, of people, of you.  There is no need to go out of the way to be an influence as we are blessed with opportunities constantly.  Tell your story and share your views as often as you can.  It matters and people listen.  Take a moment to hear a story, to value an opinion, to let someone know they matter too. Let your positive light resonate and take in the beauty of those that shine around you.  Be thankful for those people and tell them you are.  Praise your kids, your spouse, your friends and your families' accomplishments.  No matter how big or small… It will matter that you did.   Be happy for people when they reach a goal...  You have no idea how long they have been on that journey.  Bring your joy to the moment and remember that even in our darkest moments there are blessings.

How many times have you heard someone say, "It's going to get better!"  

Is it going to get better? 

Who determines that?  

Who controls that?  

Are you waiting for someone to make it better?  

Sometimes it's hard to realize the role we play in the trials we face.  Sometimes it is even harder to take it on when we would rather walk away.

Is it going to get better?

It is only going to get better when you decide you are ready for it to be!  Only when you make the choices necessary to make it better!  Only when you move forward and commit to what your definition of better needs to be!  Only when you realize that the negative in your life doesn't need to be a permanent part if it!  

Is it going to get better? 

No one else determines what better truly is to you! No one gets to choose your priorities.  No, that belongs to you! It's your responsibility. Your ability to influence the outcome. Your desire and passion.  Your ability to see the beauty in life! Your blessings!  Your faith!  Your love for God and your trust in His way!  You make it better.

In life we are sometimes given opportunities to prepare for what can come our way.  Sometimes, however, we are blindsided and before we know it are in uncharted territory.  Even there it is our ability to draw from what we know that gives us the power to persevere!  Deep down exists an extinct that we may have forgotten that pushes us to be ready in those moments we must.  We won't always know what's coming, but having faith helps us know that God will give us what we need as we travel throughout this journey.  He will provide those people willing to march into the unknown with us.   He will help us realize that it's ok to reach higher than we ever have because He will reach out and pull us up when we need it most! God's gifts are limitless, but our ability to use them as He intended is what cultivates and nourishes our soul. Take the steps necessary to move forward, and never accept anything less than what you set yourself out to achieve. Transform yourself into what you want.  Use the foundations you are building to jump forward, to trust yourself and to draw upon your faith in God to believe that no matter what comes your way... You experience your limitations daily, but you should never allow yourself to give into those limitations. You should acknowledge them only to assess how far you have surpassed them!  Use them as the bottom rung to your ladder that takes you to new heights!  Get your footing, find your strength, lean on your faith and climb!  Pause only to reflect in the experience of each lesson learned through each step.  Each step is one closer to that dream...  Every single victory along the way strengthens the foundation for the many things yet to come.  Throughout it all remember that we determine what matters, who matters and what we will give ourselves to.  We will decide why we want it and more importantly if we truly need it!  It's our choice!  Limitations, adversity, challenges are simply part of the journey, but as we grow so does our ability to determine how much of us it will take to overcome it!  Be blessed that we have that opportunity to fight and that we can acknowledge our challenges. Daily BITUB- "Believe in it!"

You believe in this dream, but you feel like your efforts sometimes go unnoticed?  I mean you are trying to do your best.  You are focusing on becoming a better you.  You are trying to get yourself motivated, but there are so many set backs!  Why are there not enough hours in the day it seems?  Why is the pressure of achieving so overwhelming sometimes?  Why?  We've all heard nothing worth having is ever easy, but there is more to that story.  Take a look at what your fighting for.  Look at why you are fighting for it.  If it didn't really matter to you then you would have abandoned it long ago.  You wouldn't subject yourself to all this if it wasn't crucial to who you are!  You wouldn't push, struggle, or feel the urgency of the moment if it wasn't something that was important to building your life.  Sometimes the harder the adversity, the more it hits us when we face those challenges, the more we feel when we reach that wall...  Well, that's when we realize the more meaningful, passionate and a part of us this experience really is.  That's when the effort doesn't need to be noticed because we know exactly what we are doing!  That's when we understand that despite everything we face we will find it within to continue to push until we make that dream our reality!  That's when we see that through God, through our faith, through the promise of hope anything is possible, and we are determined to show just how much we believe in that!

Daily BITUB- "Defeat"

Don't downplay your defeats... We all have them.  We all experience setbacks.  We all deal with disappointment, hurt and fear of what else could happen.  We all face those moments that push us to our limits, but it's what we do with those moments that matter.   Slow down and take it all in.  Take from those defeats the lessons you can learn.  See the blessings within the opportunity to learn and grow.  Use them to be better and then get on with it!  Feel the power of the many prayers that surround you.  Use your faith and the faith of others to get up and get moving!  Don't you want to show what you are made of?  Don't you want to realize the true nature of your character? Don't you want to create a foundation that you can build from? Remember that the dark exists only in those places we don't allow our light to shine... So what are you waiting for? Use this battle to motivate you!  Use the momentum of getting back up to push yourself forward!  There is always going to be adversity in our lives, but there is also always going to be God's grace, His love and the many people he puts in our lives to take the journey with us.  So whatever comes remember we are not alone, we are strong in faith and we can allow today's adversity to become tomorrow's blessings.
