Why are you questioning who you are? 

Is it because you don't like the things you are doing?  Is it because you are afraid of where you are going?  Maybe it's because you have no idea where you should be going?  Is it because your heart isn't in the goals you have set?  Are you questioning your dreams?  

Think about it... 

Think hard and focus enough to be clear and honest with yourself.  If something doesn't feel right then it probably isn't.  Trust your instincts and then do what you must to make things right!  Confide in those you know will help you and pray for the strength and courage to change the course you are on if that is what you feel.  You know exactly what you want to be pursuing, where you should be, what you want to be, and God knows exactly what you need to get there.  Trust the path and take the one your heart is telling you to take.  Then the question won't be about who you are... It will be about how far you can and are willing to go!

Who are you thankful for? 

Sometimes we just have to think about that to truly understand how much there is to be thankful for.  So as you go about your day take the time to tell someone...  Thank you for smiling today.  Thank you for giving me a helping hand.  Thank you for laughing with me.  Thank you for letting me cry.  Thank you for helping me realize how blessed I am.  Thank you for reminding me how to live life.  Thank you for making me stop and take in the beauty of the sunrise and the satisfaction of a completed day in that sunset.  Thank you for giving me so much each and every day.  Thank you for my family.  Thank you for my friends.  Thank you for letting me have the opportunity to be better.  Thank you for giving me hope and supporting my dreams.  

Then while you are at it... Why not remember to say thank You for strengthening my faith with each new challenge.  Thank You for never giving up on me even when I doubted You.  Thank You for the gift of life and the possibilities that come with living it.  Thank You for answering my prayers and never turning me away when I ask for more.

Where to now?

You should never be afraid to open doors.  Beyond those doors is possibility. The chance of something new, the promise of experience, the hope that you can achieve more! The true possibility of tomorrow is realizing it today!  Where are you, where do you want to go and where are you actually headed?  You already know!  Follow the path!  Deep in you is the will... Let your faith be the way.  Don't deny yourself a chance by feeling you don't deserve it. The battles you have fought, the lessons you have learned, all the things you have experienced, good and bad, have given you this chance!  It's up to you to take hold of the possibilities and create the moment!  Be honest with yourself about what you need and your heart will create the desire necessary to achieve it!  Focus on priority. Focus on the things that make you better! 

Where to now?  

Wherever you are willing to go!  Stay constant to who you are, have faith in what you want to become and trust in God!  Chances are the path you are looking for is right beneath your feet.

Have I ever been discouraged?  

Yes.

Defeated?  

Yes.  

Lost?  

Yes.  

Challenged?

Afraid? 

Yes.  

Have I ever known what's it's like to be at rock bottom?  Yes, and I hit it very hard. Thing is at that bottom is where I found my "rocks".  The same ones that had always been there for me, but I couldn't see.  The ones I braced myself upon so I could stand back up!  The ones who lent me their faith while I doubted mine.  The ones who believed in me when I couldn't.  The ones who wouldn't give up on me no matter how much I wanted to quit. The ones that simply prayed for me and with me.  The bottom sometimes is exactly what it takes to find the foundation of people, experience and faith...  The foundation of God's ever present blessings that give you exactly what you need to begin to build up to what and who you are truly capable of being.

What are you waiting for? 

Things aren't just going to happen.  If you want change then why not influence that change rather then waiting for it to change you?  I know you are praying for guidance and asking God to help you.  Look around!  Pay attention to the blessings He is putting in your path.  Think about the moments you feel that strength, the times you feel the courage to act, the moments where the path is clear... He is with you, as He always is, but it is still up to you to take those first steps.  It is still up to you to be willing to progress and to leap in faith!  Every opportunity in life brings with it lessons, experiences and the chance to grow and develop ourselves.  We are blessed in our ability to create who we want to be.  We are given the gift of life, the beauty of this new day and the endless possibilities of what it can bring.  It's all there for us when we are ready and willing to accept it.

We often hear it.  We often begin with that very thought... Focused on the day and hopeful it will be a great one.  Thing is just like anything it may not go as we had planned, but it's still a decision of whether or not we will allow ourselves to have it.  Who do we let decide it though?  Too often we allow the negative person, the naysayer, the frustration of a moment to make that decision for us.  We let things control the environment and thus we allow those things to influence our day.  We completely overlook the smiles, the laughter, the positive, the encouraging and happy people that are all around us.  The ones that made their choice to focus on the blessings in their life and the beauty of the day.  Think about those people... Think about which one you are in the lives of others.  I know it's not always easy to have that great day, but if it's a choice... Make it yours!

What is your heart telling you?  

How often do we suppress that in fear people won't understand, support or allow us to feel what we feel?  We spend so much time trying to make everyone happy we forget that happiness can't exist in a place where honesty isn't part of the foundation. Those that matter most to us often find happiness within the same place we do... In knowing the other has found their happiness.  Trust your heart, be open to the possibilities of experiencing life and allowing those you live for to share it with you.  Express your feelings, shout from the rooftops, profess your faith, follow your dreams and do it with all of you all the time!  God's beautiful gift of life is all a part of those we love, in the places we cherish, within the blessings in our lives and in the unbelievable moments we allow our heart to experience.

It's hard sometimes.  You get worn out, tired and that struggle can be overwhelming.  You even think that you can't get through this one.  You aren't prepared for this!  You never expected this would come... This moment wasn't supposed to happen to you!  

It happens to all of us and thing is you are prepared! 

You've been preparing all along.  That preparation has been happening throughout your journey in everything up to this moment!  You really don't know just how prepared you are.  You don't realize that God has been giving you the experience you need.  It's when you are down, afraid, lost and when you have no more in you that yet your determination, your will, your faith takes over.  It's when you can't find the way, yet you go exactly where you should.  It's in the boundaries you challenge, the limitations you surpass, the adversity you overcome. It's in the darkest places that you understand that you are surrounded by light... That you have support, comfort and you are loved! 

It's hard sometimes, but trust in God, Believe in the Unbelievable in YOU and know that you are more than prepared for anything and everything in God's plan.

The day to day routines can find us forgetting exactly why we do what we do.  We get so busy in our attempts to create this picture of what we want our lives to be we don't take notice of the life and the blessings we are experiencing right now.  People will tell you all the time they wished they would have done this, said this, took some time to understand, share, laugh, love, be loved... There shouldn't be a different you in the many areas of your life. Sure, we may act a certain way at work vs. home or with acquaintances vs. closest friends, but our values and morals must always stay intact. That part of us should never be a compromise.  Who we are should never be called into question amidst different company. Be true to you. Be open, honest and transparent. Don't go through the motions, don't fake it, don't act.  People will notice, and honestly you owe it to yourself not to do that. There shouldn't be any fear in allowing people to know you have faith, you have emotions, what you are passionate about, what your priorities are and what direction you are headed in life. Who you are is important, and those you share life with should know what is important to you.  Ultimately... It's your ability to be you in all areas of life that lets others know where they stand in yours.

A sign of some sort?  A phone call from a friend?  A smile from another?  Getting the job?  How about not getting it?  How about a safe trip?  A good night?  Getting healthy?  Finding your lost keys?  How about getting through a tough situation?  How about strength while you are in it?  Is it no rain on a vacation?  What about rain for a long drought in summer?  Is it blessings for your family and friends?  Is it a great day?  Is it simply waking up in the morning?  Is it the laughter of kids?  How about the quiet of them?  Is it your favorite team winning?  Is it to find love?  To give love?  To be loved?  

Yes...  Yes it is.

It's all those things we might not even remember saying "God please... God help me... God why me... God give me this... God take this away..."  

An answered prayer comes every moment of everyday.  Don't miss them because you are asking for more while the ones you've been asking are being answered.

So for now my answered prayer is that I am blessed to say "Thank You God... Thank You for all the times You answered and I didn't notice."

Daily BITUB- "Obstacles"

Every obstacle we face gives us opportunity to put our strength to the test.  It provides us the spring board to call our experience into play and to take a firm stand on the foundation we have built.  Now we get the chance to find out what we are made of and more importantly how much we are made of it will take to persevere!  You don't need to know every step along the way, but you must trust in God and your faith in Him that you can and you will have what it takes to make that first step. Understand the adversity you overcome daily, big & small, creates passion and drive! It elevates you, and as you grow and evolve so shall your expectations of who you are and what you are truly capable of being!
