Daily BITUB- "Mistakes matter!"

It's inevitable we all make mistakes. That doesn't mean we throw in the towel!  No instead we must get a hold of our place and push forward.  We must remember our life lessons and draw from experiences past.  All of us at one point have been taught right from wrong, but it is equally important to understand how to right our wrongs. The tendency may be to turn our back, to pretend it will fix itself or even ignore it.  Reality is it will still be there. However, sharing, expressing emotions, or even just listening can influence the outcome. Learning from mistakes is appreciating the blessing in being able to try again.  Realizing the power and importance of what we do and how we do it can be the difference between a good experience and a great one.  Sometimes it's as simple as reminding ourselves of what we are capable of doing.  Sometimes it's that pep talk we give ourselves through prayer and faith.  So listen and take notice in those moments!  Remember actions may speak louder than words, but it's often words that initiate those actions! So get up, get going, push, pull, exceed, excel, overcome!  Make every mistake matter and never forget just how much you do too!

Often times it's easy to be thankful for the big things in our life, and days like Thanksgiving we come together to acknowledge them all.  What we mustn't forget are the little things that often can be overlooked.  The daily gifts we are blessed with in our lives are abundant, and just taking a moment to realize them each and everyday is appreciating they are there.  Take a breath each day and notice the beauty in that breath.  In the smiles of family and friends, the comfort of their love and the blessing of loving them back.  Take a moment to realize that God is great and living His gift of life is giving thanks to Him for it.  

Happy Thanksgiving and I am thankful to all of you for allowing me to share my thoughts daily and for the inspiration many of you are to me.

Daily BITUB- "Prayers"

What if you are praying for the exact opposite of someone else?  Yes... What if?  The beautiful thing about faith and having it is understanding the outcome is God's will.  It is His way.  It's realizing that prayers aren't answered by a specific order of who asked first.  No they are answered in the way He sees fit.  I know it isn't always easy to see it in that moment.  Sometimes we even challenge God asking Him why this way, why this path... How is this what we prayed for?  Then when we least expect it He shows us. He provides us the prayers we truly needed.  He offers us the opportunity to grow, to strengthen ourselves and to build upon our foundation of faith.  Opportunities surround us each and everyday. So continue to pray.  Pray for what you want and give thanks that no matter how long, no matter where, no matter when... He will give you exactly what you need.

Daily BITUB- "The Wall"

Why build the wall?  

To keep people out?  To keep you in?  Maybe you are thinking that you are challenging others to break it down, climb over it and find a way to get to you.  Maybe you are challenging yourself to find a way out. The walls we build can have many explanations.  Sometimes we may not even remember why we put it up, and that fear of taking it down can be overwhelming.  We've all been in that place.  We've all been pushed and pulled...  So we tell ourselves there isn't a chance we will allow that again.  Thing is it's difficult to allow ourselves to be exposed like that, and honestly no one can decide that for us.  It is a choice.  It is a choice made with much prayer, thought, support and reflection.  It is a choice about what we really want and one that finds us focusing on what we truly need.  I can't offer any words that will take down the walls around you.  Only offer that I've lived behind them.  I've felt alone and thought "why me".  That is until I began to realize that my prayers weren't falling by the wayside.  In fact God was right there with me behind the wall.  He was there offering His hand to help pull me over, was there showing me ways around it.  That was ONLY when I was ready for Him!  That doesn't happen until we are willing to be ready, and the blessing is in God's understanding that being ready simply won't happen until we are.  When it comes He will be right there where He always is... Ready to take the first step in faith beyond those walls with us.

Daily BITUB- "Accomplishment"

There is a nice calm that comes over you when you realize that you accomplished something you had set your mind to.  A well earned pat on the back.  The prep, the plan, the execution and then the met goal!  Though, there is much to be said about the moments when we are in complete chaos!  The need to make quick decisions, to adjust in a moments notice, to adapt to the changing wind and still execute on the task.  The point is in both scenarios we reach the goal.  Life's funny that way sometimes.  The plan may be that we have to go outside our plan to complete our plan. So instead of questioning one another's means shouldn't we praise one another's successes?  There never seems to be enough of that.   So we simply must do our best to learn from one another, to take a moment to appreciate people's victories and then set our sights on the goals that will inevitably come next.

Daily BITUB- "Why this cross?"

God why do I have to carry this cross?

How many times have you heard it?  

How many times have you said it? 

We must trust that whatever cross He chooses is the one we must carry. When we are at our weakest that's when we must lean on the strength of our faith!  The path we are on takes its twists and turns, but it's that faith that helps us see it's still our path! It is the inspiration of experiences past that illuminates those dark moments we must travel. It's realization that our true selves have a power that we might never need, but when we do it's there!  We are never alone!  God is there and always will be.  All we are and all we can be finds itself exactly where it has always been-deep inside of us. Remember that your heart knows what it needs to thrive, your mind knows what it will take to achieve it and your soul guides you by awakening the instincts of the many blessings God has given us throughout our lives. The cross we bear is simply God's way of showing us that it's our faith in Him that will allow us to see His faith in us.

Let's be honest, blessings can be hard work.  Sometimes we don't even realize the blessing until it presents itself when needed most.  Sometimes it's when we lose it or we realize without it we couldn't be who we are today. God is not obligated to present us with what we deem a perfect scenario. He presents us with what He knows we need to reach our potential.  Our ability to look at life for the beauty it is allows us to put a positive influence on the outcomes of our day and ultimately our life.  The events that we come face to face with are products of choices and allow us to develop our faith, strength and belief in ourselves and our relationship with God. Every single person, instance, moment provides us the ability to leave a lasting impression. We are not obligated to be anything either... In fact we get to make that decision daily on exactly who we are going to allow ourselves to be and become.  Some blessings are hard work, but the blessing that is life is more than worth the effort!

Daily BITUB- "Defining Moments"

We often spend our day looking for those special moments.  Those defining experiences.  The big life changing events that if we had them would propel us forward.  What exactly are we looking for?  Thing is we already have them!  We never stop having them.  We are not one defining moment!  We are many moments that make up parts of the whole.  Moments of experience that shape our character.  Moments that may even test our faith, but ultimately strengthen it.  Moments where hope was our foundation and prayer was our comfort.  Moments where the day wasn't what we wanted, but God provided us what we needed.  Subtle moments we overlooked because we were looking for the big moments... Forgetting even our greatest ones started somewhere.  We are filled with experience.  Filled with the moments that help create who we are and who we can be.  So, we must stop looking and go ahead and redefine the defining moments we have already been blessed to have.  Use them time and again to lift us up to the next level of who we are capable of being, and then trust that where we are going will be exactly where God intends us to be...  And realizing that will be a defining moment in itself.

Daily BITUB- "Negativity"

Negativity is draining! It can alter so much throughout the day and deter you from your goals. You can mask your emotions for awhile about how things make you feel, but eventually it catches up. Go ahead and feel, but don't allow it to derail you!  Remember, there are those around you who use negativity in an attempt to hold you back... Don't allow it!  Shine and live! Illuminate the path by walking in faith and encouraging those around you to do the same.  Be an example, be a positive influence, BE!  Negativity is nothing more than a diversion that can only exist if it is noticed.  Be too busy living your dreams to notice anything, but the people who are positive influences in your life.  As they are part of your foundation and growth, know your pursuit of happiness may just inspire them to be willing to pursue theirs!

What will you do now that you have it?  

You can visualize it now! The light at the end of the tunnel. The beginning of a better day. The product of all your hard work. The culmination of so many lessons, experiences, adversity and challenges you have overcome. It's that opportunity you asked for and a moment you get to define.  Will you charge forward with conviction and the determination of a lifetime of support, love, hope?  Will you fight for what YOU believe is right? Will you fight for all those who have believed with and in you?  

Appreciate the chances you have been given, the blessings that God has bestowed upon you and the unconditional belief He has in who you are and more importantly why you are! Today we honor those brave people who have served this country.  We honor them for their sacrifice in order that we may have the freedoms to live our lives as we do.  Thank you for giving us comfort and for protecting the ideals of freedom, justice and liberty for all!  To the grandpas, grandmas, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who have served we say thank you, and thank you as well to the families who joined in that sacrifice as they waited for the soldiers to come home each and every day!  We are blessed to have those who have and those who are putting themselves on the line for all of us protecting our way of life.  Take time today and be sure you let the veterans in your life know just how much you appreciate them!

Keep your eye on the prize!  

Sounds like an easy thing to do...  That is of course if you know exactly what the prize is for you.  Sometimes we lose our direction because we lose focus.  We forget why we do what we do and more importantly who we do it for.  Passion for a goal stems from our understanding of the impact that goal can have in our lives and what we are willing to do to reach it.  Remember passion with a purpose will push us beyond our limitations.  Though, we must own it! It must be a part of us each and every day!  All the great successes in life originated from the same place- Inside of us.  The moment it matters is the instant it becomes that prize.  So today-Realign! Refocus! Reevaluate! Assess your priorities, trust in you and as always make sure God is front & center.  You may have the desire and the ability when it's all said and done, but knowing through Him all things are possible gives you that focus you may have lost... And that is a prize in itself.

Daily BITUB- "Discovery"

All roads eventually lead to self discovery.  It is a journey of reflection, as well as, finding the path to that next level of you.  Fear of "real life" though can cloud the true picture. Once exposed things may not be what we thought, and our conclusion may be a perception that everything is wrong. Thus we find ourselves overlooking the parts of life that are right - Having God in our lives, faith in our heart and having the people that matter most to us bless us, need us and love us. As we begin to find our true way we understand without those blessings we can never be complete.  Even understanding that we often hesitate...  Scared to let those closest to us down.   Self discovery is a must and chances are once you truly find the "you" that you are searching for... You will realize it's impossible to let down the people who love you most. Yes I've been tired. Yes I've been afraid. Yes I've hurt. Yes my faith has wavered. Yes I've failed!  Yes, but giving up is not an option no matter the obstacle.  There are too many people who fight for us...  We must continue to be up for the fight! I trust in faith and leap knowing I have blessings in my life that will catch me. I don't ignore the negative shadows, but the positive that surrounds me is too bright to allow those shadows to last. I know the path is long... I'm grateful to take the long way around. I know that through God all things are possible, and it's His love that allows me the ability to see beyond the impossible making His vision clear. I know there are limitations others will set, but those aren't my limits.  I am simply someone that believes that we are all destined and capable of finding the unbelievable within!  We are capable of reaching those wildest dreams.  

Remember, you never have to convince me... I already Believe in the Unbelievable that is you!

You have plans for the day.  You have it all mapped out and ready to go.  You'll finish and accomplish so much!  Then something happens that changes the entire course of the day.  It happens more often than not!  We all have plans, but sometimes life has other ones.  You don't know who will come into your life, who will go, what events could happen, which ones could be delayed. You may wake up feeling that you have so many obligations and expectations that you are left in wonder of how can you do it all?  Thing is... You can, you have and you will.  Start the day with a prayer.  Give yourself the momentum of faith and the reassurance that you aren't facing anything alone.  Look around at your family, friends and all the blessings that help you balance the moments that come.  Planned or unplanned you already have what it will take to face anything and everything that comes your way.  Remember the more weight on your shoulders you may just find the more balanced you become.

Our greatest achievements exist within us and play significant roles in how we perceive life.  We tend to forget them sometimes when we have moments that aren't the life we dreamed. It's those moments we must remember that adversity more than likely came before those achievements.  Our ability to go beyond, our faith to stand strong and our passion to push forward are blessings!  They aren't always easy to see, and sometimes they are not always easy to accept within the moment.  Yet when we least expect it we are reminded of those blessings as we realize where we are and the progress we have  made.  We are reminded as we make choices to better ourselves...  Choices to travel those paths we never thought we could to get to those places we always knew we would.  The beauty of life comes in realizing how much we want and need to do, and then trusting in ourselves that we are capable of doing it in pursuit of our next great achievement!

Don't let anyone tell you how to live life. 

No one truly can explain how to walk a certain path. They can provide insight, but no one knows you like you. Every individual is unique in how they progress through the journey. What motivates one may not motivate another. Priorities, wants and needs are different even when on the surface they may appear to be the same. As we move forward toward our destination it's all the wonderful experiences along the way that nourish our spirit. The bad and the good provide levels of emotions that we will draw from later in life... Things we hold tight and things we know to let go.  Each level brings us closer to where we want to be and makes us stronger so that we can continue to reach for what we need to be. It's your path... Walk it with the faith in God that no matter where you go you will find yourself exactly where you should be at that moment you will need to be there.
