Daily BITUB- "Always Present"

I've planted my feet firmly on the ground and stood strong, and still got pushed back.  I've walked tall through the toughest challenges, and still been humbled. I've given my all, and still fell short.  I've tried my very best, and it still wasn't enough.  I've stumbled, been weary of the fight, missed goals and let myself down. Yes, I have.  I've had life deal me blow after blow before, but it's when it dealt me the biggest of them and I was put on my knees that things became clear. There, in my darkest moments, were faith, hope, love, family and friends. Through honesty of who I was, wanted and needed to be, I gathered the strength to once again stand stronger, walk taller, give more, try harder!  Remember, even in our darkest moments there are blessings.  It's within the darkest ones we are able to see the beauty and the light of those blessings we may otherwise overlook. Always there and ever present!  So today I give thanks to God for the opportunities, the challenges, and the adversity... Thankful for the ones I've faced and the ones yet to come!

Daily BITUB- "A Perfect Scenario"

Remember, God is not obligated to present us with a perfect scenario. Though over the years what I've come to realize is that He does! He presents us with the exact scenario He knows we need.  Yes, it's difficult to see sometimes.  We challenge the notion this is our life,  our reality... We ask God why this is happening? When will it change? How could it change? Then we cross a path of someone who needs our thoughts, moments, and lessons.  We venture into a situation where our memory takes over and we realize we are equipped to handle this moment.  We start to see the possible in the impossible. Then we get it!  We realize the blessings we missed.  We start to understand God gave us the scenarios He did to prepare is for what may come before us today, and trusting in Him and His way fits us perfectly.

It's going to take dedication and commitment!  It's going to take perseverance and confidence!  It's going to take imagination and innovation!  It's going to take you and your ability to believe!  You want that dream!  You want to excel beyond limitations! Then get after it!  Push yourself to reach beyond the normal of a moment and make your moments matter!  Make the impossible possible!  Look at the places you've yet to go... That is where the "wildest" dreams reside! Remember there are no unrealistic goals or dreams, only unrealistic limitations we set upon ourselves.  The easy road is the most tempting and ironically the hardest to live in. It's there our mind fights us the most as it knows what we truly are capable of doing! Your "wildest" dreams are waiting, and they aren't so wild once you realize that it's YOU who has the ability to realize them!

One of my favorite quotes is "Believe when it is impossible to believe!" How inspiring is that?  It's truly a call to action for us!  It's a reminder to lean on that faith you talk about!  It's easy to do when life is going well, but real faith is doing it when it isn't!  It's up to us to trust in God and stay the course!  It's up to us to take charge and progress forward. Let your faith carry you!  Let it provide confidence amidst the crossroads of life. Let it grow through each decision and strengthen your foundation each and every step of the way! Be open, be honest with yourself, be true to your path and allow others to share in your journey!  Let them know where you are going and invite them to be a part of the beauty that exists within each moment. Its a blessing to push towards your dreams!  It's a blessing to make each moment matter!  It's a blessing to share it with those that matter most in your life! Daily BITUB- "Life Keeps Going"

Our commitment to life is on-going.  It can't stop when we are busy, when it gets hard, or when we face adversity.  It can't stop because life doesn't stop being lived.   It keeps moving with or without us! Sometimes we miss how much opportunity exists for us to achieve, to succeed, and to reach higher!  Sometimes we miss the people motivating us to do more, the ones who inspire us to be better, and the people that support us and believe in us.  However, all that is not near enough unless you believe that your dreams, goals and the roles you play in life are worth living. It's not fair to hope or expect those around you to push and pull you if you are not willing to do it with them. Life will create struggles and tests that can push you down.  The questions you should be asking are if you are willing to get back up?  Are you willing to let others help you get back up?  That is a choice that YOU make.  It will take longer sometimes, but your acceptance that life and the world around you moves on with or without you is the beginning of understanding your place in it.

They are God's reminders that He is always there.  It's those inspirations that make life such a beautiful journey. It's the small things they do that feed our soul daily and the big things that nourish our passion always! They give us the ability to focus on our real strength. Daily BITUB- "A New Day"

Can you remember a day when you felt like you were under attack?  The morning started out miserable and then it only got worse from there.  People didn't get you, the car wouldn't start, the kids didn't cooperate, it rained and you forgot your umbrella, somebody made sure your alarm clock didn't get set and of course you are catching every red light!  That wasn't even the half of it as your clothes didn't fit quite right, your head hurt and they decided that today your favorite coffee would no longer be on special.  Work was horrible, your lunch was undercooked, your drive home took forever because everyone forgot how to drive in the rain.  All you want is to get home, shower, get in bed and start over tomorrow!  

Exactly... And there it is! 

That thought that eluded you all day.  The one that might have helped you laugh a little more, notice the good things (there were some, but you missed them) and realize that you do have tomorrow!  Not to mention the blessings of your warm bed, your kids, your coffee, your job, your shower... The most miserable of days can be awful and draining, but often we forget that we are living and not long ago we had a perfect day.  Each and every day finds us experiencing the gift of life and the blessings of being a part of it!  God has a goal...  That we are forever carried by faith in all we do and are blessed even when we think we aren't by the hope of a better tomorrow and the beautiful dawn of a new day!  

So if your morning didn't start right then the good news is YOU still have all day to finish it right!

Daily BITUB- "Influence It!"

Sometimes you get blindsided by things.  You may have suspected something was coming, but you thought maybe it wouldn't happen to you, or definitely not now.  Usually when that happens you start to point fingers at anything and anyone you can...  After all it couldn't possibly be something you did!  More often than not it is exactly something you did.  While accepting our role in things can be difficult, it takes that realization to understand just how impactful we are both good and bad in our lives.  We don't have to accept anything for what it is though. We don't have to settle for where we are; just as we influenced our current place we are capable of influencing what comes next!  Think about that and you'll start to see just how many possibilities are right in front of you.  You'll see how many outcomes there can be and how many more roads there are still left to travel!  So get moving once again!  Pick yourself up and have faith that yesterday, today, and tomorrow we have only to remember "nothing will be impossible with God." (Luke 1:37)

Daily BITUB- "Reminder"

Frustrated?  Angry? Confused? Tired? Lost?  Some days we feel like we are going through all the negative emotions we can.  You get bogged down and even prayer escapes you.  You can't find the words, nor can you find a break to catch your breath!  We've all been there.  Some people are there right now!  As hard as it may be, pause and look around you.  Find that one blessing that grounds you.  That one that reminds you of how great living life can be.  Maybe it's your spouse, your kids, your family, your career, your friends.  Maybe it's simply knowing you have another day to make count.  Use it to remind you of what you do have, that light does exist in the dark, that as bad as it gets there is always something God does to remind us He is there!  A reminder that we are going to get through this as we have so many times before.  A reminder that it isn't about what we don't have, but about what we do.

Daily BITUB- "Grudges"

I was talking to someone yesterday about grudges. All I could think about was the burden those bring.  The burden is usually on the one holding it though.  I've probably held three real grudges in my life and as hard as it was to let go that was exactly what needed to happen.  That negative energy did nothing more than linger there, creating unproductive thoughts.  Taking that energy spent holding on to those grudges and applying it to moving forward, to creating positive outcomes, to learning from mistakes, and to growing from experience was time much better spent.  So, if you are harboring your own grudges...  Set them down and put them behind you.  Forgive where you can and forget what you must.  Focus not on what has been, but on the beauty of what can be.  "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."- Ephesians 4:32

Daily BITUB- "Valentine's Day"

It's Valentine's Day! What does that mean to you?  Funny how today can represent different things for so many people. I know those that dread today, others that can't wait for it, and still others that think of it as just another day.  I remember as we were growing up that my parents always gave us a little something on this day. The candy, card or even just a dinner together made it special.  It was such a small gesture, but it mattered as I still remember it today.  For me, my memories make today a nice reminder to say "I love you" to those we cherish, to express our feelings in appreciation of all the relationships in our lives, to say thank you for our blessings and to be truly grateful for having them.  It reminds me that even a small gesture can make a lasting impact and that I am blessed to be able to have those moments now with those in my life.  So, regardless of how you view today, maybe you simply take it as an opportunity to express your love for the people in your life that matter most.  Let them know, as you should everyday, that you are grateful God blessed you with the beautiful opportunity to love and to be loved.

I wonder how many things could have happened if someone hadn't given up on their dreams, though it is better to think about the ones who didn't!  The ones whose pursuit of happiness took them to levels that inspire and motivate others each and every day.  The athletes, the inventors, the scientists, the teachers,  the architects, the entrepreneurs... The list can go on and on of those who didn't stop when the road got tough.  The ones who refused to give in because of the adversity.  The ones who didn't allow others to control their destiny, but rather trusted in God and His path and pushed themselves onward!  The ones who cared enough to dream, to complete their dreams and make it possible for us to remember... To remember if we want it then we must be willing to persevere, commit, and be determined to go get it!

Daily BITUB- "The End Result"

Sometimes it's difficult to see the end result.  Sometimes as we move our way through one obstacle after another we wish we knew where it would finish.  Then again, if we did, we may not be so apt to jump in and push through.  Then we think of those times when we fought the good fight, only to reach an ending we didn't want.  Try as we might, we look for the answers, we look for the wrong turns, we look at others to blame, but we don't realize we mustn't look too far.  We simply must look in the mirror.  If you look hard enough you'll see the blessings in the opportunity to fight.  You'll see the light in the darkest moments.  You'll see the experiences, the lessons, the supporters...  You'll see God right there by your side reminding you, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

"Let your heart set the path, faith be your guide and God be your companion."- DC

There are no shortcuts.  There is no cutting corners.  Sure we may get relief for a moment by taking the easy way out, but long term we will come to find we only did ourselves a disservice. At some point all the "kind of" did it will catch up to us.  We don't get to hit the reset button and back up to do it the right way, but we sure can start now.  We can take down the false foundations of doubt and fear, and rebuild them with determination and perseverance.  It's the lasting, most trying times that create our character, that give us strength, that guide us when the waters get rough.  Pay attention to what you're doing...  Are you looking for the shortcut or are you embracing the blessings in taking the long way around?

Daily BITUB- "Familiar"

Where do we go from here?  It seems sometimes we get to a place where that is the only question left to ask.  You wonder if you should venture down the unfamiliar road and if you are equipped to handle the unknown you are about to walk into.  You wonder if you take the familiar road if you will become complacent and miss the opportunities along the way.  The thing is that even the paths we have been on before aren't exactly as they were.  It's all unfamiliar as the people, the places, the situations that may arise are different.  Sure maybe some similarities, but even you are different.  You are more equipped than you think.  You may recognize the scenery, but I am betting through the experiences you have faced the scenery won't recognize you.  You know more, yes, but more than that you are willing to learn more.  You are willing to take the good with the bad.  You understand with joy may come pain.  You know that either path you take will be exactly the path God intended you to take, and knowing He is there makes the unfamiliar familiar pretty quick.

Daily BITUB- "Decide!"

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eyes upon you."- Psalm 32:8

Decisions, decisions, decisions!  We have to make them.  Every day we are faced with one after another.  Deciding do we do this or that?  Do we pick that person or the other?  Do we take this road or that road?  Sometimes it is best to simply make a move, to be confident in what your heart is telling you, and have trust in your experience.  Pray for guidance and trust no matter the outcome you will at least be moving forward rather than standing still looking for answers.  You will be creating resolutions, new doorways, loftier goals, bigger dreams!  Yes, you may face opposition.  Yes, you may face doubters, naysayers, and problem people, but don't allow them to distract your focus.  Don't let them dilute your attempt to raise expectations! Remove the anxiety in deciding by stopping yourself from waiting for the perfect time or the ideal move; be part of the solution and chances are the right choice will be in the realization that you made one!

Daily BITUB- "Take It On!"

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."-  1 Corinthians 13:13 

How often have we resisted our trials?  We push back and we avoid as best we can, only to find that we are simply delaying the inevitable.  Over the years I've learned to stop running away from the challenge and to, instead, embrace it!  That's not always easy to do, and sometimes it is way bigger than I anticipated.  Bigger, but not impossible!  After all, isn't anything possible if we believe?  Isn't this trial what God wants us to face?  Faith says yes.  Hope says we will be ok.  Love says we will not do it alone. So stop hiding, running, avoiding and start realizing that whatever comes your way is exactly what is supposed to!  Believe you can and chances are you will!  So say a prayer, look for the light in the dark, and run right at that knowing God is going to be with you every step of the way!

Daily BITUB- "Take Charge"

How often do we have a bad day, only to decide that we had nothing to do with it?  We either make the determination someone did this to us, or we just mope around feeling sorry for ourselves.  Neither of those scenarios are going to change where we are.  Often, they simply pull us in deeper and make it that much harder to get ourselves out of the place we put ourselves in.   Let me say that again...  The place WE put ourselves in!  If you want to be better then take  charge of the situation.  Give yourself a fighting chance by deciding, and committing, to fighting!  Think about the choices that put you here only long enough to assess where you are and where you want to go!  What's it going to take?  It starts with realizing you made the choices that put you here and now you get to make the choices to move you from here.  How motivational is that?  That you have so much influence over your place, your attitude, your mood, your situation! You get to determine the next move! I'll give you the first two.  One, trust that God is with you!  Two, take ownership of what is and be blessed by what is about to be!

Daily BITUB- "Faith First"

Sometimes the only way to truly accept what is happening is to trust in God...  Not sometimes, not a little bit, but always and fully!  We can't wait for the right moment, we have to be willing to put ourselves out there in faith.  We can't always hold everything in, instead we have to be willing to give of ourselves every chance we get.  We can't live by running away from the challenges, we live by taking God's hand and running faith first into them!  We can't settle on doubt, we must build on trust.   Everything happens when God intends for it to happen, but sitting and waiting, wanting, wishing isn't going to get it done.  We must always be pushing, always be working, always be engaged in traveling the path before us.  No matter what is on that path, what challenges await we must believe... "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." (Isaiah 43:2 )
