Take those moments you fail and use them to learn, to experience, and to grow! Don't just survive, thrive! Live and take in the beauty of the  journey and everything that comes with it! We must be willing to push ourselves to our limits. Once we reach those limits, then we can realize we are capable of so much more as we live through faith! Trust that within faith is God's trust that we can handle what He presents us and be better for it! The strength to be who you are lies in your ability to see what you are capable of being. Our pursuit of happiness begins with realizing what defines happiness for us. Maybe it's a family, friends, career, health... Maybe it's all of it.  Regardless, knowing is the starting point and believing is on-going as you push to achieve that happiness.  Have faith in the journey and find your purpose. Be blessed by the opportunities. Be thankful for God's gift of life and let your purpose drive your passion!

"Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it."-Confucius  

We don't know the circumstances of someone's life.  We don't know what fight they are fighting right now.  Sure the pictures on social media may look great, but anyone's life can look amazing one photo at a time. Who are we to judge? Sometimes it's that judgmental attitude that drives people away. Then before you know it you've created a void of people you wish you had back. Instead of trying to figure out the bad, why not focus your attention on the blessings of people who impact you positively? Think of all the beauty that exists in first realizing that you have found something and someone that changes your perspective to want to be better.  That moment where you realize that all you are will be enough for them and it makes you want to be more to them. That is a much better way to live life! So why not change your focus from the negative of people that you must live with to the positive blessings of the people you live for!

Daily BITUB- "Not About Likes"

It's not always in what you say or do, but how you say and do it that creates the drive behind how things can be interpreted. However, you can't allow others to dictate how you perceive things. You can't expect to make everyone happy. You can't allow other people's perceptions to change the course of your life, your feelings, or your beliefs. You must hold steady to what is inside you and what you deem important. Remember it's ok to shout from the rooftops, but you must be prepared that some will question what and why you are shouting. So be sure you know, be confident that if it matters to you then it will always matter, and is worth expressing!  Don't ever focus on how many "likes" you can get, instead focus on the lives you can touch!

There are many ways to face the day. There will be the familiar routines, the new adventures, and the inevitable unexpected. Our perception, attitude, and experience will be the difference on how our day turns out.  We must make conscious decisions on how we will approach each challenge, each set back, each success.  Happy, sad, angry or content; every emotion is a by-product of a decision we make as to how we will view something. These are all choices that we make about how we will take on living life! I know there is always something going on! Always something that can deter you from staying the course. Always some darkness of negativity that can creep its way into our moments. While it is not feasible to ignore all that happens around us it is totally possible to be the light that changes the dark not only for ourselves, but for those around us. Trust that you can be the difference, and as you reflect on how you can positively approach the day see that you can be, and are, the positive influence in the day of someone else.  Just remember there are always blessings.  God is always there. So as you face the day, why not be the biggest influence in how beautiful it can be!

Daily BITUB- "His Plan"

Every now and then we must change the course.  It's part of progression. It's part of evolving. It's realizing that where we are is only a part of the many crossroads we are destined to encounter. Reality, however, is that we are asked to change the course even at times when we are not ready. We question our place. We may even question our faith. While it may take awhile often we come to find it's our faith that we exactly should be thinking about. It's the glue that holds our foundation together. The crossroads may seem unfamiliar at times, but we must remember that no matter the obstacle the ability to remain constant in who we are should always bring the familiarity we need. So as change, choices and new things hit us, ready or not, with God, and our faith we are more prepared than we think. Focus on your faith and strength, and move forward with the confidence that while things may not fit into our plan we must always trust that it is and always will be a part of God's.

Who matters to you? 

Your friend, your family, your spouse, your boyfriend/girlfriend, your children? However they influence you, whatever they give you, whatever you give them, just be sure they know. Tell them what you feel every single day. Express your emotions. Experience life with them. Let them in and keep them close. Give them your shoulder and hold them tightly in your arms. Give them your strength. Let them witness your faith. Let them feel how important they are to you. Make sure they know the blessings they bring to your life and the hope they bring to your day. Let them see you shine. Witness their beauty. Let them be themselves. Be vulnerable with them. Tell them your deepest secrets. Let them chase their wildest dreams. Support their endeavors. Encourage their goals. Pick them up. Let them carry you. Trust them with your emotions. Give them your love. Let them love you back. Pray for them and pray with them. Believe in them and see how much they believe in you! 

Who matters to you?  

Tomorrow is no guarantee, but today, right here and right now, just be sure they know.

Have faith that whatever will be is in God's hands.  We've all heard it, and chances are we've said it too. That doesn't mean that you mustn't do your part.  It doesn't mean you don't have to try, prepare, study, and do things as best you can.  Faith isn't something that allows us to do as we please expecting God to let us off the hook when our actions put us in places we shouldn't be.  We are responsible for our choices, for our attitude, for the things we say, the situations we create, and we must hold ourselves accountable to all of it.  While there are many definitions of faith, for me, faith is believing when it's impossible to believe.  Faith is knowing God is there with us. Faith is taking all we are, doing all we can, and trusting God to do the things we simply can't.

"Two things define you: Your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything."- unknown 

You know that it doesn't matter the money you have, the job you are doing, your education, your success if you don't have the right attitude about it.  Attitude matters in every aspect of life.  It determines how we approach each obstacle, how we perceive each milestone, how we get back up after we fall short.  When our attitude is in check we often find it within ourselves to reach higher, to refocus our energy on the right things, to dream without limitations, and to create the fire we need to take on things we maybe once thought impossible.  It's a choice.  We can allow our attitude to hinder us, or we can use it to ward off the negative around us and let it surround us with the positive we need to shield us as we take on whatever comes our way!  Think about where your attitude is as you move throughout your day. You can either allow it to define you or you can define it!

"There is no shortage of doubt, it is the abundance of belief that often gets overlooked."- DC

You can't focus on what you don't have.  Often that is what keeps you from reaching higher and pushing yourself. It clouds your ability to see your dreams, to realize your potential, to believe in the possibilities of what can be.  It's easy to overlook blessings when life gets tough.  It's easy to forget the good around us.  It's even easier to let ourselves off the hook by giving excuses of why we can't do something instead of finding ways that we can.  Take that negative energy and apply it to all the blessings in your life. Move your focus from what isn't happening to all the things that are happening.  Look around you.  Pay attention to all the beauty God is placing in your path. It won't always be easy to see, but I assure you it's there! It's there, but we have to have faith that it will present itself not when we want it, but when God knows we need it.

Daily BITUB- "What and Where"

What's the point?  What exactly are you trying to do?  Where are you trying to go? What's the commitment you are trying to meet?  What are you hoping to accomplish?  I think about these, and many more questions, often.  Over the years, the answers to those questions have evolved.  They evolve because our priorities change.  What mattered years ago may not matter at all today.  Sometimes our focus changes because our lives change.  Other times we realize we are capable of reaching higher or chasing bigger dreams.  Sometimes we simply realize that our lives revolve around different things than they used to.  When I find myself a little lost, confused, or in a place I don't want to be, it's because I haven't asked those important questions, or even because I haven't been honest about what really matters.  Maybe you are there.  Maybe you know someone who is.  Regardless, take a moment to figure out where you are, what and who matters most to you right now, and chances are you will begin to see a clear path to where you want to go!

I don't always say or do the things I know I should.  I don't always live life the way I know I want to live it.  I've made wrong choices, said hurtful things, lost my patience, doubted my faith, and lost my way.  Life won't always be perfect, nor will we be.  We are all works in progress.  We all have opportunities to be better, to try harder, to change the things we don't like about ourselves, and to develop our mental, physical, and spiritual selves into the people we want to be.  Maybe we never get there, but not putting any effort to right wrongs, to be better than yesterday, and to give more than we take won't put us any closer.  Every moment that we are blessed to be here, every opportunity that God gives us, every blessing in our lives matters.  It matters in as much as we allow it to matter.  God gives us the gift of life; what we do with it is up to us.  We are, and should always be, works in progress... Progressing to reach the potential of what we can be and being blessed to have the opportunities to be it.

At some point the stand you take will be challenged.  The reality of that challenge isn't in the resistance of others, but in how strong you feel about what you are standing for.  Doubt is created when we fail to trust in those things we know, and nobody knows us better than we do!  We know the things that hurt us just as we know the things that motivate, inspire and bring us joy.  We are aware of what matters and we are aware if we are willing to stand for a belief despite the adversity we will face. Your faith in the values and dreams you have created will be the foundation you dig your feet into through each obstacle that presents itself.  Life will be full of challenges, but we mustn't forget it is also filled with God's blessings. Blessings that surround us, and if we allow them will stand right along with us through anything and everything we are willing to endure.

Daily BITUB- "Start Doing!"

There are so many things we want to do!  So many dreams and so many goals.  Even just in our daily routine we give ourselves expectations to meet. No coffee today, going to workout a little longer, one more mile, I'm going to finish this project, I'm going to go after that promotion, I'm going to make a difference just by being positive. Our biggest blessings started somewhere right? Maybe in a thought, a random feeling that became an endeavor! One day you woke up and there it was, no longer a thought but a mission.  Part of you and necessary for you to be complete! Necessary for you to be you!  Necessary for you to feel alive, accomplished, satisfied. It matters to you!  Well if it matters to you then chances are it matters to those that love you!  Chances are they know you need to reach that goal! They know you will push, fight and commit! They know you can! You know you can, and God puts blessings there so that you will!  

There are so many things we "want" to do. So let's stop "wanting" and start doing!

So, what's next?  I know you thought if you get past this obstacle, this challenge, this adversity then you'd be home free.  You had no idea on the other side of that wall was another one.  So, what's next?  You've come this far haven't you?  I know you are tired.  I know you are worn down.  Yes, I get it, but as we face each challenge we develop the experience to transcend doubt and limitations. We create focal points to draw from as we evolve into what we are truly capable of being. We strengthen our foundation and we provide support through all we know to face the unknown! We have the opportunity and are blessed to be our own testimony to the ability to trust in ourselves and leap in faith. After all we have done it before! There are no limitations unless we allow them to be! Limitations we set on ourselves! Boundaries that we create! Chances are on the other side of this wall is another!  Only one way to find out.  Only one way to reach what you want and to be what you need to be.  So, what's next?  I say let's go find out!

We've all done it.  We've all questioned why this, why us, why now!  We go through the events in our head looking for understanding.  We want meaning.  We want a purpose. We want someone to point a finger at if things aren't well.  It's taken years for me to grasp the realization it's not my timing that matters.  That real faith is understanding He is in control. Sure we will question, but searching for answers can take years.  I'm still waiting on a few to come, but in the meantime I can only lean on that faith we all talk about.  I can give thanks to God for the opportunities in front of me and the blessings He continues to give that we can overlook if we are so focused on the things we don't have instead of those things we do. The beauty is in the lesson, and often those answers, those moments, present themselves when we least expect it, but exactly when God knows we need them most.

Everything we come in contact with is a byproduct of something we created. It was a choice we made, a road we took, something we said or something we did. In essence where we are today is where we put ourselves, good or bad. We must never forget that we are in control of our environment. We determine it's influence on us. While fate brings us face to face with our destiny it is our impact once there that makes the determination of how wonderful it can be. Our trust in our ability to positively impact it is our strength!  Along the way it is our choice to do as we will and to have faith that God is with us, that He is our guiding light, that He will give us the path, and be there when we need Him most.  Understand life allows you the beauty of being in control of the life you want to live and only you can determine how you are going to live it!

Daily BITUB- "Shine"

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."-  Matthew 5:16

Why do you hide it?  Why do you let others take it from you?  Why do you let the negativity put shadows on it?  Let your light shine! Your light can change lives. It gives hope. It strengthens the foundation of others. It creates a bridge for others to cross. It gives reason to break down walls. It allows others the comfort of walking into the unknown. It gives a truth like no other. It is love. It is a shoulder to cry upon. It is a helping hand. It is a kind word. It is a smile. It is a hug. It is a glance of understanding. It is you being you and saying it's ok for them to be them. It's comfort and support. It's part of someone's life and it's someone's entire world. It is priority. It is a big part of who you are and a bigger part of why you are. You are the light at the end of someone's tunnel and you can be the light in yours. God has given you the blessing of living through the gift of life! He ignites our light and appreciating it is allowing it to shine! 

So shine away!

Daily BITUB- "Fear"

 "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4) 

Fear is a powerful thing.  It can paralyze you, it can make you doubt, it can control your emotions, it can render you helpless, it can change your thoughts, alter your path, and create negativity in places you'd least expect.  Thing is, what we often overlook, is that fear can also motivate when we take that emotion and use it to propel us into places we've never been.  When we take our fears in faith then it changes. When we face them with God at our side those fears subside. Those emotions become motivators, the doubt becomes hope, the feeling of helplessness is replaced with a feeling of support as we realize the blessings around us.  The negativity is nothing more than a shadow that can't survive as we allow our light to overtake the room.  Fear exists.  It's part of a balance of what is, but faith, if we allow it, can tip the scales.  You have but to simply have faith, live it, trust in God, and believe. Believe in the possibilities that live beyond those fears and Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU!

Daily BITUB- "Appreciation"

Our greatest achievements exist within us and play significant roles in how we perceive life, yet we have achievements still to come! Though, what we mustn't forget is all the people who contributed to those achievements.  Success, reaching goals, exceeding expectations...  I assure you doesn't happen alone!  Think about those people in your life who were instrumental in your ability to reach higher. The ones who supported you, who gave you guidance, who provided words of encouragement, and those who helped behind the scenes, wanting nothing more than to watch you succeed.  How are you appreciating them?  How do you thank them?  Sometimes it's as simple as appreciating what you have, rather than what you don't.  Sometimes it's thinking about what you've done and how you can share that with others. Sometimes it's helping others and thinking of them before yourself.  Maybe it's realizing it's not about what you think you deserve, but what you are willing to earn each and every day to ensure those successes continue.  Maybe it's simply saying thank you, I appreciate you, you matter, and thanks be to God for putting you in my path.
