Daily BITUB- “Perfect Days”

In search of that perfect day? How often do we place ourselves in bad situations and then question why things happen to us? It is difficult to accept sometimes that we are the creators of much of our stress. Often our goal to have that perfect day, week, month gets derailed and instead of realizing it's ok, we throw up our hands. We have to take from our moments that which we are given and learn the lessons that God puts in our path. Stop pushing back and arguing with the moment. Instead use it to grow better, wiser, stronger. If I've learned anything through the trials I've been blessed to experience, it's that being happy is a state of mind. It's appreciating what you do have and not letting what you don't cloud your thoughts. It's being grateful for God's Grace, His infinite wisdom, His gift of life! When you start looking at life through those eyes, those thoughts, and that faith you start to realize just how perfect your day really was.

We aren't always going to win, but as I've said before sometimes the victory is in our ability to fight! There are numerous victories along the journey embedded within those fights that allow us to grow into our true selves, to build confidence, and to learn through our experiences. We all have light and being true to that light allows it to shine at its brightest when we peak in our passions! However, it is up to us to determine what those passions will be! It is up to us to find, commit, and then hold ourselves accountable to the pursuit of them! Be honest with yourself. Don't convince yourself to chase dreams that aren't yours. It is that honesty that will help guide you as it lights the way. It is that honesty that allows you to be who you are, to be all you are, and to be the beautiful blessing that God intended you to be!

"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." (1 Peter 4:8)

As the saying goes, there is a thin line between love and hate. Though, what I've found over the years is hating anything means you are not compelled to feel any good in someone or something. That type of negative energy takes its toll more on you than the thing you are hating. There is no room for that type of emotion inside of us, especially when we are called upon by God to love others as He has loved us. How forgiving God is! I for one am grateful as there have been many times I've prayed for God to guide, comfort, and forgive me for things I've done. I know that you may not like someone or something, they may press your buttons and make it difficult to forgive them, but forgive them we must. Let go of that negative and move on. Remember that the negative energy around us has no place when we allow the positive energy that resonates beyond us to be our focus. Love and be loved. All of us will be better for it.

Daily BITUB- “Balance”

"Better learn balance. Balance is key. Balance is good...  Balance bad, better pack up, go home"- Mr. Miyagi (Karate Kid)

Balance! I'm certain Miyagi wasn't just talking about karate here. In fact balance is extremely important on so many levels. We are challenged daily with finding it. It may be our work/life balance, our going out, our playing, our alone time, our family time, our development time, our exercise time. It's easy to get caught up on extremes and lose your balance. You start to forget what your real priorities are, what matters most, and why you do what you do. You can easily lose sight of the big picture and before you know it you are so off you can't figure out how you could possibly find your balance again. I'll tell you, because I've been there, it won't be easy, but it will be worth it. Take a moment and reflect on where you are. Look around you at the things that occupy your time. Are you just going through the motions? Are you letting life pass you by? Only you can assess that, and only you can make the changes necessary to start balancing out your life. Take inventory of the things that matter most and the things you must do to ensure those things are possible. Then influence the outcome. Stop going through the motions and become an active participant in making the choices necessary to give yourself the opportunities to be balanced. Today is as good a day as any to begin. You don't have to convince me if you can, I already believe in you!

Daily BITUB- “Rejoice and be glad!”

"This is the day the Lord has made;

We will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)

When you went to bed last night did you give thanks for your day? Maybe it wasn't a perfect day. Might not have gone like you planned at all. Might have been that day you were running late, missed a quota, had a flat, got let down. Maybe it was one of those days you just threw your hands up. We've all been there, but it was still a day. Still one The Lord made. You might have missed those little things in between all the chaos, but there were probably a few helping hands, a shoulder to cry on, a smile, an opened door, the laughter of your kids, the comfort of coming home. I've said it often, just because things didn't go as planned doesn't mean you should abandon the plan. God answers prayers as we need them, not always how we want them. So, as you wake up today, be ready. Be ready for whatever lesson, whatever experience, whatever blessing God has in store for you. Be thankful for another day to be alive, to do the things you do, to chase the dreams you want, to bask in the things that remind you what living is all about. Then... Rejoice and be glad in it!

If you are willing to stand up and chase your dreams get ready because you will be met with adversity! The obstacles are plenty, but rest assured if it matters to you, then you will find a way! Every obstacle, every roadblock, every setback demands we pull more from ourselves! If you want it then you have to go get it. You have to commit and dedicate yourself to whatever you want to achieve! Your circumstances can't be excuses. Your environment can't be an excuse. Your time, or lack thereof as you may feel, can't be an excuse. You determine the next steps. You are in control of the moment! There is no greater influence in how you perceive what lies ahead than you! Look at life. Look at the journey! Look at where you want to be! Let God's wisdom help you handle life as it really is. Take ownership of it and have faith that what you need God will provide, and then get after it! Chase that dream down! Settle for nothing. Be grateful that if you want it you have the power, the opportunity, the support, and the faith to achieve it!

Daily BITUB- “Thoughts”

What if people could read your thoughts? Would that be a good thing? That probably would make for a long day in some situations. I know it would for me. Sometimes it's hard to be positive, to be open, to be vulnerable. While that may be true, you must know that God already knows your thoughts. He knows your struggles, your challenges, the trials you are in, and the ones yet to come. While our mind often tells us one thing, our experience, our heart, our emotions may lead us in a different direction. You have to trust that God already knows where we are headed, but it is still up to us how we will choose to be while on the journey and how we arrive. Being human means the possibility of frustration, fear, disappointment, anger, confusion. It means we will misstep, we will lose sight of our purpose, we may even lose faith at times. In that we grow. How we grow is going to be our choice. We either grow closer to our family, our friends, our faith, to God... Or we don't. I wonder often where my thoughts may lead me, but I don't wonder if they will lead me far away from what I believe, what matters to me, who I am, who I want to be, those that matter most, and God. So, as I go into my day today I ask for help and I pray, "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." (Psalm 139: 23-24)

We all have our strengths. The gifts we are given are unique and while certain things will come easy there are other things we must work for. Those things, however, are often the most rewarding. When you are backed up against that wall, when you are faced with the choice to back down or to fight, when you know you are at wits end, when you know the next step is uncharted territory... That is when you realize how much those blessings from God truly are influential in your life! When you understand what it means for Him to walk with you! When you begin to appreciate the journey and your experiences. When you realize that "no", "I can't", "it's too hard" simply won't do! That's when your commitment to be better and your instincts to push on take over and create a passion for you to build upon. The path becomes clearer and the faith to walk it is stronger than ever. The harder it gets the more it matters. Remember without the valleys the amazing peaks of life simply wouldn't be as beautiful.

It's glaring sometimes... The issues.   Though the glare itself can blind us from seeing the entire situation. It can cause us to jump to conclusions, cause us to overreact, cause us to make it worse than it originally was. We will never be able to "get it right" all the time, but that is exactly what helps us to evolve and become better.  It is experience of the moment that creates the beauty in believing for the next time, and there will be a next time! So, pause for a moment in the situations where you are unsure. Assess the moment, ask questions, be open to feelings, be honest with yourself, admit mistakes, stand your ground when you should and always pray! Pray for guidance, for focus, for clarity. Pray that God continues to instill in you His faith and you continue to be blessed in yours.

I am blessed to work and interact with a lot of different people day after day. I find myself thinking about their development constantly. Not just what they can learn, but what they can teach. So many people have such brilliant minds they just need the confidence to share! How we take each moment in and use it matters. Look around at all the good things happening. Pay attention to the potential of others. Take time to encourage others! Take time to listen! Take time to share, to care, to give, to serve! It may take years to reach that person's potential, but that is why they call it an investment! Every person has that switch. Finding it will take time, but that passion exists within us all. It drives us and helps us understand that we are all capable of reaching our personal and professional goals! Sometimes people just need us to be the catalyst to start that fire that takes them to places they never thought possible! Just think of all the moments someone did the same for you! Everyone deserves an opportunity to reach their peak. There is opportunity for those willing to pursue, dedicate and commit themselves to those opportunities! Remember we don't climb mountains because we have to, we climb them because we can! That's part of the blessing of realizing that anyone can achieve it, and all of us would be better by helping each other climb those mountains together!

Life can quickly spiral out of control. It can leave you hanging looking for answers as to why and how you ended up here. Well, don't look too far because often times it is the decisions we made that created our circumstance. Guess what? You can't do anything about what you did or where you've been, but you definitely can influence where you are going. Be open and honest with yourself. You can't pretend things don't matter. You can't act like you don't care. You do! You want to live the dream, then live it! You want to learn more, teach more, then do it! You want to take the trip, find a way and take it! You want to give more than you take, start now! You want to treat people better, then do it! Don't lay waiting for a blessing, look around and start noticing just how blessed you truly can be if you allow yourself to be. Give thanks to God for His Grace! Have faith in the moment and leap knowing you are always going to land exactly where you should! We all have our own experiences. We all carry our cross. Sometimes it's heavier than others, but trust it's ours for a reason. You want to stop the spiral? You want answers? Start asking the right questions. Start giving yourself a chance to be what you know you can be. If not you, then who? If not now, then when? Each day is a beautiful opportunity! It's another day The Lord has made. Be glad! Rejoice and Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU!

If you see something great then acknowledge it! If you see someone exceed expectations praise them! If you know someone has a personal goal, and reaches it, take notice! If you know someone needs your smile, hug, friendship, a helping hand, your shoulder, then why not give it? If you get the chance to encourage someone do it! If you get the opportunity to help someone reach beyond their limitations then cherish it! If you know someone needs a little more strength to reach the light at the end of the tunnel then be that light in their tunnel! If you know someone simply needs to feel the power of faith why not lend them yours? If you know that someone needs your prayers then slow down long enough to pray for them and with them! If you know someone is having trouble seeing their blessings then let them know just how much of a blessing they are to you! If you know someone that loves you, then let them know what it means to you, and then love them back! If you know someone that is lost, assure them that God knows exactly where they are and where they are going. If you know someone is unbelievable, then tell them they are!

Whose reality really matters? People spend lifetimes trying to be something they are not. They wear the clothes, work the jobs, live the lives they think they are supposed to. The real reality will be one of regret if you are not truly pursuing the dreams and passions that exist within you. Life is too short to chase things others want you to chase. Your ability to find that person, that place, that dream isn't going to be determined by anyone but you. It is by your commitment to those things that you know you need, and being true to yourself about things you don't. Make the conscious decision  each day to bring yourself closer to your reality. It's there you are at your best. It's there your faith takes the lead. It's there you are YOU! Remember to live life! Don't spend so much time proving to others who they think you should be that you forget to focus on who you want to be!

Let it show us exactly what we are made of and why we are made of it! Life is such an adventure! It is twists and turns, joy and pain, happy and sad, but it is life and it is worth living! How beautiful is the opportunity to fight? How blessed are we to face adversity with the faith to overcome it? How wonderful is it that all we are, all we've experienced, all we've grown is put in to play? Only you can answer those questions! That pursuit will find us growing, maturing, and learning. It will lead us in directions that provide us those life lessons that later in life we reflect on.  Every step of the way enlightens us to what we as individuals have the strength to endure, and just how much, how often, and why we are willing to endure it! Daily BITUB- “Obstacles”

It never ceases to amaze me how God knows when and where to answer a prayer. This popped in my memories from three years ago and reminded me of where I am and where I need to go. God is great!

Every obstacle we face gives us opportunity to put our strength to the test. It provides us the spring board to call our experience into play and to take a firm stand on the foundation we have built. Now we get the chance to find out what we are made of and more importantly how much we are made of it will take to persevere! You don't need to know every step along the way, but you must trust in God and your faith in Him that you can and you will have what it takes to make that first step. Understand the adversity you overcome daily, big and small, creates passion and drive! It elevates you, and as you grow and evolve so shall your expectations of who you are and what you are truly capable of being!

Value your place in the moment. Your opinions, values, thoughts, emotions... All of it matters, and it just may be exactly what someone is needing to hear! Take your place in the big picture! Your contribution is part of the foundation needed to grow!  Don't underestimate your strength, your influence, your heart, your faith.  Let your light shine! Let it illuminate the path that negativity attempts to make dark! Remember the shadows only exist when you don't allow your light to shine! So allow it to radiate!  Allow it to be the light in the tunnel!  Allow it to be the beacon of hope!  You are a blessing, you are a child of God, you matter, and someone is thanking God right now that you are in their life, that you are part of their journey, that you motivate them, that you care, share and give more than you take!  Allow yourself to be you, and you just may find that in doing that you inspire others to do the same!
