It is that feeling of knowing we had to fight, and that our faith gave us the strength to go beyond our limitations. Faith... Believing when it's impossible to believe! Why? Because we know God will be there. We know there are blessings placed throughout our journey. We become better through our experiences, and every challenge puts us more in tune with our capabilities. When our dreams are aligned with our passion it creates a determination that allows us to find levels we didn't know existed. Give yourself a chance. Focus on today and on setting a high expectation for each moment, and tomorrow you will get the blessing of being even better than you were today.

Daily BITUB- “God’s Hands”

I've heard people talk about how they would handle a situation if they were in it. I've heard people question other's decisions and choices. They talk about how they would handle things, and they attempt to understand the reasoning behind those choices. We are not to judge, as I'm certain we don't want to be judged. I've even heard people say they could have done it better or they would have done things differently. For me... I would never attempt to question someone's logic when it comes to their choices. I'm not in those shoes. Interestingly enough I've found motivation is not talking about how you handle someone's life, it is realizing their path is not yours. Instead offer inspiration in the moment by listening, being there, keeping their head up, being a shoulder to cry on and a back to lean upon.  Pray with them, lend them your faith, show them your belief in who they are, and help them put their trust in God by simply being present with them as they need that blessing. Give others the good in you by realizing they can't walk your path either, but we are all blessed to help one another maneuver through them. As we are blessed to cross one another's paths remember while we may truly never walk in each other's shoes, we can all be assured we are always in God's hands.

Daily BITUB- “Turning Point”

Can you determine what your turning point was? You know the thing that struck you and made you realize that it was time to get up and make a difference! That moment where you realized it wasn't just about you, but for all those in your life that are so much a part of you. Was it a big thing? Maybe it was a series of subtle things that found you at wits end with not only the situation, but with yourself! You realized that you could do all the things asked of you, you even knew there was no quit in you, but you weren't satisfied. It wasn't you! It wasn't bringing you closer to your dreams and it wasn't helping you grow. In fact it had the complete opposite effect. Maybe you are at that point now.  Maybe you long to get there. Maybe you know it's time, but can't get yourself to do it. That moment, though, is something you must take in faith! It is a moment to embrace. A moment when all your blessings begin to take shape, become clear, and you realize that God has a bigger plan for you. You know it because you feel it, and that feeling is your turning point.

Nobody is perfect, but through the eyes of those who truly matter perfection is exactly what they see. The flaws are opportunities to grow and a chance for them to be a part of that growth. The gifts we possess are multiplied as they treat each experience as if it was the first time they've seen it. Our laugh, tears, walk, the way we sleep... All of it is a part of their life, and they welcome it. It makes their life that much more and they openly allow us to share in it with them. The journey allows us to cross paths with those individuals whose spirit gives ours comfort and provides strength like no other. Kids, spouse, family and those special friends... They are the ones that while we may not be perfect the feeling of those perfect moments only exist when we are blessed to share it with them. Cherish your relationships. Be present in those special moments. Take time for one another, and make your moments matter.

Life takes its twists and turns. It leads us in directions we sometimes question. Regardless of where it has led us it is where we choose to go next that will define us. What you will come to find is experience changes perspectives. What you once thought a dead end becomes a climbable wall. What you once thought was finally your path to happiness can change in an instant.  What you once thought impossible becomes the unbelievable opportunity you had been waiting for. Then along those enlightened paths we also find those that we once felt we could not travel without were only part of the journey not the journey. They gave us their love, support and comfort... And we did in return. God places people in our path so that we may grow from one another. We learn and we teach, but not everyone can take the entire journey with you. Its ok. You are not leaving them behind nor are they. You are simply empowering them to take a journey of their own. So cherish the opportunities to cross as many paths as God places in front of you. It's in those twists and turns you will be amazed that you find yourself exactly where you need to be when you need to be there.

They say the truth sets you free. The truth is that freedom relies on your ability to be completely honest with yourself first. Pretending things don't exist won't eliminate them. Facing, understanding and bringing things to the forefront sets things in motion. The complete picture is what enables that sense of freedom we are looking for as it allows us the opportunity to deal with all the issues. Truth? Truth is we have the ability to convince ourselves of anything! It's being willing to expose ourselves completely that we will find that "anything"also includes facing ourselves and being open to who we are and if it's who we want to be. The truth WILL set you free... Only when you realize that you are the only one that is truly capable of holding you captive.

Daily BITUB- “Crossroads”

You are at a crossroads. You have to make a decision between moving forward or moving on. You know what you want, but the road lately has been riddled with setbacks, obstacles, and doubts. Your mind tells you it's time to give up on this pursuit and go back to the easier path, but your heart is telling you that there is no pursuit without this dream. Stop thinking about how hard it is and start thinking about why you started it in the first place. You bet it's a choice! You bet it's on you to decide. Yes, you can be certain there is more adversity ahead, but you knew that when you started the journey towards living, being, and becoming your dream. Remember that excitement when you first made the decision to chase it? Remember the emotions, the passion, the motivation that came from within that helped you take that first step? Think hard because it's all still there. You are at a crossroads. One path is straight and narrow, the other is going to require you to leap. So go ahead and close your eyes, picture the destination, take God's hand, feel that faith and jump! As I've said often no matter the landing you will be that much closer to your dreams.

Daily BITUB- “Focusing”

Focusing on those things that matter most to us creates a different perspective. There are less distractions. Words like "I can't", "boundaries", "I don't know how", don't exist in those places where we are determined to do, be, become more. Determination is real. It exists in those places where we know there is more to be done, where there is a higher bar, where our next level exists. Realizing what we want and what is necessary for us to feel complete gives us reason to reach within to find strength we didn't even know we had. That's true in all facets of our lives. It's inevitable that we face obstacles. There will always be limitations that we condition ourselves to accept. It won't be easy to overcome those doubts, but it will be worth it when we do! It's there, in those moments you will realize there isn't anything that is truly out of reach if you trust in your faith, in the path God has for you, and in your ability to go after it with all the blessings that exist right here and right now.

I was hurrying out yesterday at lunch to run an errand before my next appointment and before I got in my car I just stopped. I stood there just to take in the sunshine. It was a nice day and the temperature was perfect. It was quiet except for the sounds of the cars on the highway and the birds that were on the tree by our office building. It was peaceful. It was simply one of those moments that you realize how great God is and how blessed you are. Blessed to be alive. Blessed to experience God's beauty. Blessed to feel the wind on your face. Blessed to be there at that moment that God said pause and appreciate what's around you. No matter what is going on, sometimes we have to let ourselves feel the moment. We have to appreciate that we can. We must listen to God as He tells us we are exactly in the place we should be at the exact moment we should be, and then give thanks to Him for it.

I hear people say they don't like Valentine's Day. I get it. Though maybe those who don't like it just look at it all wrong. While you may or may not want to celebrate this day why not use it to remember to cherish all your relationships? It can be a day we put focus on those people we are blessed to experience year round. It is a good day to better understand the significance of that love. Whether it's in our friends, family, children, husband, wife it's a blessing to be able to fully embrace the unconditional love that carries us through life. While the day may spark a reminder of what that love means it's holding on to it and allowing it to be a part of us in all we do each and every day that makes it real. So, use today to send, to show, to give that love to those that matter most, and embrace the beauty in allowing others to love you back.

Daily BITUB- “Negativity”

Yesterday someone asked me how I stay positive. I laughed and thought to myself I'm not always positive, but more often than not I try to be. Maybe it's enough to matter to those who I'm blessed to interact with. Maybe I hide it well when negative moments find me. Think about how often we encounter negativity. Honestly, if you let yourself, you can find negativity anywhere and everywhere. That's the key to it though. If you let yourself. If you make the choice to see it, to allow it to consume you, and to influence your day that's on you. Don't get me wrong, even on my best day there are moments when negativity finds its way in, but I work hard to push it out. There is no silver bullet to that though. You have to find your way, what pulls you out, what moves you forward. For me it has been the comfort of friends and family, the promise that God is with me, faith that His Grace is greater than anything we will endure. So, maybe that's just it. It's not that I don't see or feel the negative around me... It's just that I choose to focus on the positive that surrounds me.

Every sunrise has promise, but it begins with a promise to ourselves. A promise to use our eyes to see the beauty in the new day. A promise to use our ears to stay attentive so that we may hear the opportunities that knock as the day unfolds. A promise to say the important things to those that matter so that we have no regrets. A promise to feel with our heart and allow those emotions to be expressions of who we are. A promise to take in each and every moment that gives us reason to be, reason to know we are blessed, reason to take life in all its splendor, and then share it. A promise to give thanks to God for He truly is great! A promise to appreciate the day He has made by living it with the blessings He has given us. Daily BITUB- “No Self Destruct”

Why would you hit that self destruct button? Sure you had a setback. Ok, you made a mistake. Maybe you are feeling a little self doubt. Do you think you are the first? Do you think you'll be the last? Look around you at all the people that have tripped up, but got back up. You don't need someone to give you the motivation. All you've done, all you've experienced, everything you've grown from, given, dreamed of, lived for... That's the motivation! You don't need to self destruct, rather reconstruct yourself into something better. Learn from each moment God blesses you with. Talk to others. Listen to those wise people that God has surrounded you with that have been there and are better for it. In as much as you are blessed to be you are equally blessed to become... To become the person you want to be, the person you need to be, and most of all the person God intends for you to be.

When things go bad we often think we must have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. We can't help but focus on the negative of it all. Maybe it caused pain, confusion, hurt. Maybe the fear of what comes next is overwhelming. It's ok to feel, but then you have to get on with it. You have to stop letting your mind think about all the bad. Ask yourself, why would you think that way? Don't you believe in God's plan? Don't you have trust that God won't put anything on you that you can't handle? Isn't that faith? Isn't that believing in the unbelievable? As hard as it is to push forward you must. You can't change the things that happened. Instead you have to influence what comes next. You have to take the experience and use it. Use it to help others, use it to help yourself, use it to grow, use it to be better. Then, when you start to really look at the opportunity before you it starts to look different. You realize, that maybe you were actually in the right place at the right time.

Daily BITUB- “Opportunities”

When an opportunity presents itself we may jump at the chance to have it. We may think it's our only option. We look for signs from God as to what we should or shouldn't do. After all we have been praying that an opportunity would present itself, so clearly it's the one. Maybe though, because we have been starved for opportunity we think it's the best thing out there. Maybe we haven't really looked. Maybe we feel it's best not to take a chance and wait for something else. I mean what if nothing more comes our way? The question should be what have we have done besides waiting for the opportunity to present itself? Shouldn't we go out and create one? Remember God answers prayers, but it's up to us to realize our role in those answers. What is important to us? What sacrifices are we willing to make? Not just for us, but for the many in our lives that rely on us to make those decisions. There will always be opportunities. You must trust in God, trust in faith, and believe that which ever opportunity you take God will be there every step of the way.

Daily BITUB- “Motivation”

I came across this quote this weekend and It made me think about how we are in constant motion towards being better, to growing, to finding our next level. That is of course if we are up to the challenges we are faced with each and every day. There will always be something to push us, but it is up to us to face it, to not back down, to fight for what matters. Are we willing to accept that we can do more? Are we able to not question God's plan for us, but rather embrace it? Are we going to set the bar at new heights each day? Will we allow ourselves to be inspired, to find strength in adversity, to have faith in what God has in store for us, and trust it is good for us? It's a choice! A choice to face the challenges that we are blessed to face, and as the quote says, there is still plenty to be motivated by... That is of course if we choose to allow ourselves to be motivated.
