Daily BITUB- “Power in Prayer”

"Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven." (Psalm 107:28-30)

Sunday at church I looked at the back of the bulletin, as I always do, to see the names of the people we need to pray for. Low and behold I see my name there. My wife had mentioned it to me that it was there before, but I had forgotten. I looked over at my daughter sitting next to me and she just looked at me and smiled. I thought about the last month and how I've had many moments I was wondering about health, schedules, budgets, and work. How I was almost spinning trying to figure out what comes next, and then moments of calm and clarity would come over me. I thought about how I was tired, but suddenly I found another gear. I thought about the diagnosis after my hospital stay and how it was, for the most part, fixable. I thought about the valley I felt like I was in only to realize it was really a peak I had forgotten I reached just sometime before. I thought about my goals, dreams, commitments, responsibilities, and felt a strength I had long sense forgotten I had. Then I looked at my name there again and realized just how powerful prayer can be, and how many people took a moment just to say a prayer for me.

I am thankful, and I give thanks to God for continuing to hear those prayers.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you know whether you are praying for, with, or need prayers God is listening… "And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." (Matthew 21:22)
