"Give to those who ask, and don't refuse those who wish to borrow from you." (Matthew 5:42)
It's not always easy to give is it? Especially when you may feel you have nothing left to give. I hear often people talk about what they "have" to do. It was many years ago I changed my perspective and realized the blessing of seeing things that I "get" to do. People along our paths are going to ask us for help. It may be monetary, it may be a simple word of encouragement, it may be physical labor. Inevitably it will be in those moments we don't have the money, the time, or the energy, but it is in those times we get to find it within ourselves to help any way we can. We get to find ways to serve. Our servant heart will always guide us if we allow it to. It may not be a grand gesture, but even the smallest gesture can make the biggest difference in times of great need. Don't underestimate that, and don't NOT give because you think it isn't enough. Give what you can when you can. Remember the story of the widow in the Bible?
'Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on."' (Mark 12:43-44)
It's not how much of you that you give. It's the beauty in the opportunities that present themselves in which you get to give all you can… and it will be enough.
Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you know that in giving of ourselves we glorify God. For it is through Him we are able to.
