You are waiting for the right time aren't you? Some say there is never a right time. I believe that there is a right time, and that time is now. That time is when you realize that you are in control. There is no excuse. There is no reason you can give. You can't blame others. You can't use things like money, time, environment, circumstances. It's all smoke screens you are letting cloud you. You want it then go get it. Work harder. Try harder. Get up earlier. Read more. Ask for help. Commit to that destination. Be confident in your abilities to achieve it. Fine tune your skills. Up the ante on yourself and be accountable to following through! Stop the nonsense of "I can't", "What if", "Why me" and be the opposite of the naysayers and the doubters. Fight! Then fight harder! The right time has always been now. The right moment is going to be created when you create it. Remember this feeling. Remember this place. Remember this day. Remember it because it will be the day you decided to be your blessings and be the biggest influence for living the best rest of your life you could live. The time is now!

Don't worry we all get tired. We all have grown weary of the fight. We've all been in those moments where we don't see an end in sight. I assure you though it's there. I know you've been told that you can't quit because it might just be around the next corner. It's hard though because you've turned so many corners already. You've been running, chasing, pulling and pushing, but that goal seems to get further away with each set back. It's easier said than done, but you must get it done. You have to dig a little deeper. It's there in you, but it hides behind fear, doubt, hurt, pain. It hides because it knows once you get it you won't stop. It knows you'll remember that feeling of accomplishment, success, and victory. You'll once again see the silver lining. You'll once again be the light in the tunnels. You'll remember that there are no unrealistic dreams, only unrealistic limitations. Limitations we set and limitations only we can lift. Don't worry we all get tired, but you are one of the few that won't stop until you do what you set out to do.

Daily BITUB- “Get Back to Basics”

Get back to basics! We get so caught up in the emotion, the confusion, the doubt, and before you know it we are all turned around. Remember your values. Remember those lessons you learned the hard way and use them to grow. Think about the countless times you said "that won't be me", and now realize it is you. It is you, but it's ok because self awareness allows you to course correct. It allows you to realize it's time to maneuver and that vision you once had starts to come back into focus. You had a dream. You had goals. You had passion and determination, but you put those down as you picked up the bad habits, the negative thoughts, the instant gratification. Time to lay that down and pick up where you left off... When you were determined to climb that mountain despite how hard it was going to be because you knew the view from that peak would be worth it! Lay down the angst, the worry, the fear at God's feet and climb into His hands. He has you in as much as you want to be had. You may think you don't know what to do, but you absolutely do! You always have. You just have to let yourself get back to basics and once again Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU! 

My prayer for you today is that you allow yourself to put those negative things at God's feet and let His Grace comfort you as you climb into His hands to get to a place where you can once again begin that journey you started long ago.

Daily BITUB- “Fool Me Once”

You think you are going where you need to go. You have even convinced yourself time and time again you are ok with how things are. You may be able to fool others, but you won't ever fool yourself. You might convince yourself of something for awhile, but eventually it will catch up to you. If you want to live the life you know you should it doesn't start elsewhere. No, it starts with you and your relationship with yourself. It begins when you stop trying to be something you are not. It begins when you let yourself realize false foundations do not last. It begins when you allow yourself the opportunity to be the person God intended you to be. Take a moment and reflect on where you are and where you want to be. Are you living up to expectations? Not anyone else's, but your own. Are you prioritizing the things that matter? Are you giving more than you take? Only you, and God, know the answers to those questions. Only you can do what needs to be done to ensure you are able to answer those questions the way you need them to be answered. Only you can get moving in the direction you need to go and it is you that must allow yourself to do so.

"The Helper, The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you." John 14:26 

Yesterday morning I was blessed to be at the chapel early to pray for our pastor. Often we talk of the Holy Spirit and the power of prayer, but sometimes we don't realize it until we allow ourselves to truly let go and let that spirit in. The emotions can be overwhelming and the feeling can lift you up higher than you thought possible. God is always present, but it's up to us to allow Him in. It's up to us to let Him be a part of our journey and a part of the life we are choosing to live. I haven't always put God first as many things clouded my judgement. What I thought I needed was simply a want, when in reality all I truly ever needed was what was in front of me. It may take many lessons to figure that out, and I'm still learning them, but God keeps reminding me that through Him is the way. That the blessings He has given me through my wife, my kids, my family, my work family, my renewed faith and renewed relationship with Him is exactly what I have always wanted, and God has always known it is exactly what I needed. 

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you allow yourself moments with God. Moments where you can pray, let Him in, and be completely open to what He has in store for you next.

All of us are going somewhere. All of us have a story to tell. All of us have experienced things that gave us perspective and provided lessons... Even those we didn't want to learn. Some people will use it to push forward, others will get stuck, and even others will refuse to look at what is right there in front of them. We all have the opportunity to face ourselves, but we won't all do it. Let's face it, it's hard to do. You see things you may not want to see, but if you truly want to evolve then see it you must! When you allow yourself to be honest with where you are and what you are you empower yourself to become what you want to be and in turn go where you need to go. Stop avoiding your story. Stop being afraid to venture into those uncomfortable uncharted territories. It's those places that allow you to be your story, it's those places where your wildest dreams reside, it's those places where we begin to understand that the lessons we have been learning have prepared us for what comes next... And the blessing in what comes next is that it is up to us what exactly next will be.

How do you gauge the importance of events in your life? Maybe it was a turning point in your life. Maybe it changed your way of thinking. Maybe it gave you a different perspective of things. Maybe you learned a valuable lesson that helped you grow. Maybe it took away things you thought you needed, but it turned out you didn't.  Maybe it was something that wasn't at all what you expected. There are so many events that impact our lives and influence how, why and when we do the things we do. Some provide us the spark to light the fire we need to push forward. Some ground us to the reality of what matters most to us. Some help us realize the true meaning of loving, sharing, caring. Some simply provide us with the beauty of a memory and the blessing of a moment we can carry with us wherever we go. How do you gauge the importance? I've learned it's not about the event itself. It's about the blessings God gives us in the opportunities to have them, to experience them and to live them. It's about what you can take from them and make matter. It's about letting it create who we are and why we are. It's realizing every day there are moments that help us prioritize our life and appreciate those people and things that truly matter to us. When you put that into perspective... Well, you quickly realize and understand exactly what's important.

Daily BITUB- “For a Reason”

I wrote this back in 2015. Today as I was writing it popped up in my memories and as I read it I felt compelled to share it again. God is always working in our lives. He is constant and challenges us to be the same. Constant in our values, our faith, our priorities and our commitment to ourselves and Him. It isn't always clear or easy, but what I continue to find is that it matters and is worth it. God is great all the time!

There is much truth in the saying that everything happens for a reason. It's not always easy to accept that as things we didn't expect are happening, but prayer, faith and hope are extremely strong and needed in those moments as we put our trust in God and let things unfold. I've learned that the road of life often brings us back to places, people and moments we once knew. The perspective though is different as we have been blessed with experiences along the way. We recognize the scenery, but the scenery doesn't recognize us. We've learned lessons the hard way, met those who have challenged us, cherished those who have supported us, grown from the adversity, been humbled, basked in successes, climbed from our valleys and given thanks for our peaks. I've said it before- Life gives us the privilege of doing our very best to give more than we take, to appreciate our blessings, to trust that God knows what we need, to stand firm on our foundation of faith and to Believe in the Unbelievable possibilities that can exist when we simply allow them to.

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that no matter what is going on in your life you give it to God and allow Him to travel with you. For through Him is the only way.

Daily BITUB- “Perception”

Perception can be everything. In some cases it's the only thing. How do we change it though? Honestly, first we have to care enough to change it and then understand how that perception was created. Often times things can get lost in translation-What it means to one may not mean the same to another. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily. We are constantly encouraged to express our individuality. It's what makes us who we are. No matter what is said or done, how it makes us feel is how it is perceived. Happy, sad, angry, content... Every emotion lends itself to a perception. How we look at ourselves will influence how we look at others. All of it plays into the day to day perceptions we allow ourselves to have. So remember, we can think the good or bad into any situation. It's our choice!  Dark- Gives us opportunity to see the light. Adversity- Gives us opportunity to overcome. Hurt - Gives us opportunity to heal. God- Well, that gives us opportunity for anything and everything for through Him all things are possible. So as we hope to be perceived, so should we try to perceive others. "Do to others as you would have them do to you." (Luke 6:31). Have faith that even in our darkest moments there is beauty, strength and hope. That's a perception that we should allow ourselves to be blessed with each and every day.

Daily BITUB- “Goals and Blessings”

There are so many things we want to do. So many dreams and so many goals. Even just in our daily routine we give ourselves expectations to meet, or at least we should. No coffee today, going to workout a little longer, one more mile, I'm going to finish this project, I'm going to go after that promotion, I'm going to make a difference, I'm going to be positive, I'm going to choose happy, I'm going to be of service to others. Our biggest blessings started somewhere right? They aren't all in disguise. Some are right there in front of us, but we must look in order to see them. We must not look past the beauty of our daily blessings in pursuit of that one big one. It's the little things that carry us. It's the little ones that build us up, give us strength, create who we are. Maybe they come in a thought, a random feeling, a moment where we decide this will be our next adventure. One day you wake up and there it is. No longer a thought but a mission. It is now part of you and necessary for you to be complete! Necessary for you to be you. Necessary for you to feel alive, accomplished, satisfied. It matters to you! Well if it matters to you then chances are it matters to those that love you. Chances are they know you need to reach that goal. They know you will push, fight and commit. They know you can! You know you can, and God puts blessings there so that you will.

We can share our experiences with others in hope they will learn. We can listen to the experiences of others in hope that we will allow ourselves to be taught. We can pave ways and we can follow paths. We can lead and be humble enough to follow when we know it's right. We can trust in who we are and have faith to trust in who others can be. We can look for those moments of truth that exist throughout our day and be the example that is willing to accept and be a part of what they offer. We can carry others through their toughest moments and we can lean on others when it's too much for us to handle alone. We can smile in the face of adversity and we can push through the challenges that adversity brings. We can be of service to others, share our vision, profess our faith and be open to what God has in store for us. As you start this day remember the choices are many. The possibilities are endless. There are blessings everywhere. There is God's light in and throughout every tunnel. It's simply our choice to believe even when it seems impossible to believe.

You don't have to pick just one! Have as many dreams and goals as you like. Make them as big and lofty as you need. Throw every idea out there, speak it out loud, write it down and commit it to memory. Whatever you need to do then you do it. Go for it!  Don't let anyone tell you that you can't. No one can stop you once you dedicate your passion to something. You are in control. You've shown that drive before. Sure there will be setbacks. Sure there will be shortfalls and things won't always play out as you may have had them in your head. So what! That doesn't mean you stop. Learn from it and keep moving. If it matters to you, if it is worth it to you, if you get that feeling of determination when you think of it then let's go get it. Get up! Get ready to fight for it! Get ready to push! Get ready to do what you know you can and surprise yourself by doing more than you ever did. Dreams are meant to be realized!  Blessings are abundant in your life. So be your blessings. Give thanks to God by giving all of you to the gift of life. Live it to the fullest. Stop worrying about what could be and start creating what should be. Live it, feel it, be it!  If you really want to change the world there's no better place to start with than yours.

Daily BITUB- “Transformational Birthday Wishes”

This weekend was extremely special. So many kind words and birthday wishes. I couldn't help but think of the past year and all the experiences I've had.  I learned some things the hard way, but it was those hard ways that helped me realize the things I had to do to be better. We often live our lives with the notion that it is what it is, but in reality that's an excuse to let ourselves off the hook when we realize we aren't living the life we should be. There are countless opportunities to overlook our moments. The moments where we grow. The moments where we get to face our fears, overcome adversity, do more, be more, give more, serve more. We look past the present because we tell ourselves tomorrow we will do those things that are important. Tomorrow we will realign our priorities. Tomorrow we will start living our best life. Tomorrow isn't ever going to come. It is always tomorrow... This moment, this place, this now... Today! Today is the time. Today is when we must take hold of our dreams, be true to our plans, stand strong for our values, and live. Live like there is a tomorrow. Live with the understanding that everything we want to be starts with our our ability to want to be it. Yes, this past year was an amazingly blessed year of growth for me. This next year is shaping up to be that transformational year where God's wisdom, His Grace, and my faith come together. Together to do as His will intends.

"A journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step." -Chinese Proverb 

This past week I talked a lot about transformation. Sometimes we think about where we want to go, but it seems like it is so far away. We think about all the adversity we may face, the obstacles that are inevitable, and the feeling that we won't be able to finish what we started. I think those feelings are a natural part of growth. Understanding it won't be easy sets us up for the fight we know we are going to have. It allows us to ground ourselves in the reality that tough times are ahead. Then it provides us something we often overlook. The realization we are not alone. That we don't have to face it by ourselves. That the transformation that's coming isn't just for us, but for all those who have been and will be on the journey with us. We learn who we are, we learn what others believe we can be, and we learn that we are capable of being it. We will pray, we will hurt, we will fear, we will pray some more and we will find strength, joy, and faith. We will see that God provides what we need exactly when we need it. Even when we don't see it, like it, get it! He is still giving. He is still present. He shows us the way, and through Him we realize it's the only way. Transformation begins within. It begins with a vision about what it will mean to reach that 1000 mile, and the courage to take that first single step.

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is you find it within to see the possibility, to find the courage, to have faith that whatever transformation is in store for you, you believe that you can do it and that in the end it will be worth every step of the way.

As we evolve and grow people will come in and out of our lives. Some will leave impressions that we never want to erase and some will leave lessons that we wish we could. Some will grow in our heart and others will touch as deep as our soul. There are those that will make us reach our potential and some we will strive to go beyond our limitations for. There are those we want to be better for and those we are better with. There are those we will hold on to with all we are. Then there are those we will marvel at their free spirit. There are those that we fight for and those that we are simply blessed to experience. There are those we must live with and the special ones we live for. As people come in and out of your life even today... Remember that each and every opportunity we are blessed to have is another life God allows us the privilege to touch or be touched by.

I wrote this years ago and today its meaning once again finds its way into my heart. 

Things happen and when they happen to us it is natural to think of how things may have been different. We ponder the things we could, should and would have done. The reality is you can't change how things unfolded sometimes. It's the aftermath. It's the promises you make to be better. As much as we say "we promise" it doesn't matter unless we commit to it and see it through. It may not be something you do overnight. It may not be something big. It may be a small moment, like smiling, calling, talking, laughing, telling stories, remembering the past, hugging longer, cherishing an instance you simply find joy in. For me, I have made promises to myself before I didn't keep.  Promises to be a better friend, to remind my family how much I love them, and need them. Promises to my friends to be honest even when it hurts, to watch out for them, to look them up when I'm around and to hold them up when they are down. Promises to simply be appreciative more of the life I have and to share it each and every day with as many people as I can. Promises to not be so busy creating life I forget to live. Promises to myself that can still be kept. Yes, chances are we all have promises we haven't been keeping and things happen that remind us of them. Maybe we just put them aside, but it's always a good time to pick them back up. Always a good time to start keeping them and to ensure that we live our lives in appreciation of the beauty God places before us each and every day. That is one promise we should all make, and then do our best to make it a priority to keep it.

You know the choices we make we are responsible for. Try as we might to not believe that we must if we are going to move forward. You can't blame a circumstance, other people, your environment. Thing is people experience the same things, but not everyone's reaction is the same. It's easy to get caught up in the negative. Easy to feel sorry for yourself. Easier to throw your hands up instead of facing what is in front of you. Things aren't always going to work out, but that doesn't mean we quit. As hard as it may be in the moment to see, there is good in all things. Experience, lessons, growth... Whatever you want to call it there is a blessing there. There is something that we must see because God intends for us to take hold of our blessings and make them matter. We put ourselves here so we hold the key to move us from here. What will you do? What is your next choice? What will you take from the moment and use to create a better you? You get to choose. You get to matter. You get to be your blessings. We are responsible for the choices we make, and we shouldn't want it to be any other way.

Daily BITUB- “Regrets”

We reflect on what was. We think of what could have been. We have regrets. We have fears we didn't say or do all we wanted at those moments. We may even wonder if we were so busy searching we didn't even notice the moment at all. We say that it may have been different if only we had done it this way or that way, but we didn't. So now what? What are you going to do about what was? You can dwell on it. You can sulk in the thought you allowed something to pass you by, or you can change that focus to what happens next. What matters is our now. Now is always the most important thing. Learn from what you didn't do and use it to experience what you will do. Our ability to influence our today is simply the start to our pursuit of what is to come. What we did will never be as influential as what we do. How we attack our dreams, pursue our goals, create our happiness matters. What could have been is as close as what can be.The beauty is that you already possess all you will ever need to achieve it. Yes, you do. It's in you. It always has been. God put it there long ago. Faith, Hope, and Love... Trust in God's plan. Have belief in all that can be. Have belief that you can, you have, and you will.
