It is still surprising to see the reach a post on social media can go. Even more motivational to know someone across the globe found meaning in a blog post I wrote recently. Often times I write very consciously. I write what I feel in full expression of how I feel it and my beliefs around why I feel it. I learned long ago that being transparent around my values and my goals in life is how you create a circle of people that understand who and why you are the person you are. It also allows me opportunities to be around those that don't think like me, but we value expression and the ability to attempt to see points of view. I know they don't always agree with my view, and I don't always agree with theirs, but that's ok. Circumstance and environments influence that, but it doesn't mean we stifle our words. That is hard sometimes when someone is shouting from the rooftops the complete opposite of what we are shouting from ours. Going back to the beginning of this. The person above was extremely agitated with my post where I included this Bible verse; "Don't forget to do good and to share what you have because God is pleased with these kinds of sacrifices." (Hebrews 13:16) They felt that I was saying we must sacrifice everything to be in God's good graces. The entire post was about noticing that others may need us: our kindness, our ability to listen, a healing hand, our wisdom, a shoulder, faith. Sharing ourselves comes in many forms through service, monetary when we can, volunteering our time, and many other ways. In all things, everyone takes from things that are written what pertains to them. Their interpretation may be different than yours or mine. Regardless, as I often say, if you believe it to be about you, for you, for someone else God intends for it to be. It is motivation for me to touch others, to provoke thought, to give something of myself and to share what I have to give. For me, what I have to offer are the words I am blessed to write, and to continue to share with all of you.
Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you share your talents, your skills, your thoughts. Express yourself in the ways you are able. "As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." 1 Peter 4: 10)
