"Stop Worrying"
Yesterday I sat down worried about something that hasn't even occurred yet. Instead of focusing my energy on influencing a situation I was channeling my energy negatively and creating unnecessary worry for myself. Mark Twain said, "I've worried about a great many things in life, most of which never came to pass." Isn't that the truth. Instead of sitting thinking about the things that might happen we must spend more time creating the things we want and need to happen. We get into a protection mode. We allow ourselves to become complacent, and even settle in some cases, instead of pushing the limits, trying things we never have, taking risks, growing. As I was writing this, I thought of how trying to avoid something often brings us face to face with it when we least expect it. It's like trying to not make noise and wake some one up, but yet you seem to create more noise then you would have if you had just done what you normally do. What if we woke up each morning and told ourselves that today we would take action? It could be anything. A project we have been putting off, a book we wanted to finish, a phone call we needed to make, a new goal, a new endeavor. What if we committed to it with that New Year's spirit that says this year I will do this? What if we viewed every day as a new year? After all each day is a new day to do more, be more, go further than we did yesterday. Stop trying to not make noise. Stop worrying about things that haven't happened and put your energy into something today that YOU make happen.
Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
Have a blessed day everyone
