Daily BITUB- “The Ministry of Presence”

" There were no promises made, was no long conversations being had, nothing, just her presence. The ministry of presence. Sometimes that's all you need to offer a person who's in a situation like that. Just to be present. And she was present for me at a time when I didn't deserve to have nobody in my life."- Shia LaBeouf"

"The Ministry of Presence"

If you haven't heard the interview with Shia then I urge you to find it. He was in rehab and talked about the ministry of presence. He had nothing to offer, and his person showed up for him. I've watched it several times, and recently rewatched it. (Tough language so beware) This had been on my mind a lot lately. We claim to be there for others, but are we really? It's a real question. Is it an obligation? Is it a burden? Yes, tough subject. Yet, at times when we need each other the most it seems that comfort isn't what we thought it would be. Don't be angry. Don't regret it. That's not how it works. Shouldn't we be grateful for what is given to us in those moments? You don't know what season someone is in. What they give you may be all they have, yet they are still giving it to you. How often are you at your limits, but understand the importance of presence? So much that you find another level of you. Just to be there. To listen. To care. To let someone know they matter. There are no limits to being kind. There are no limits to being present for someone. There are no limits to understanding how much your presence can impact someone's day. God put in us a light. It doesn't matter what we believe it to be. The smallest sparkle can be the brightest light someone has seen in a while. Don't underestimate your own presence. All of us have influence. What we do with it will be up to us, but God has given all of us the ability to make it matter as much as we allow it to matter. The ministry of presence. Be present, and give thanks to those who take any moment to be present for you.

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is for a heart full of gratitude. For any moment that brings you comfort. For any situation that gives you balance. I pray we accept God's presence in our lives. For He is there always, waiting for us to be present with Him.

Have a blessed day everyone.
