"Adversity"
I have been thinking of the last year and a half lately. There have been many turning points for me, and a lot of self inflicted adversity. When I've faced adversity, it has rarely felt like an opportunity in the moment. Most times, it felt heavy, unfair, and exhausting. It was like I was carrying more than I could handle. But looking back, those same struggles became some of the most defining chapters of my life. Each obstacle forced me to slow down, to see myself more honestly, and to recognize strengths I didn't know I had. The pain taught me patience, the setbacks taught me humility, and the persistence it took to keep going taught me resilience. I've come to realize that the very moments I thought might break me were actually shaping me into someone stronger, wiser, and more compassionate. I still have a lot of work to do to get back to myself. Though, part of that is realizing the importance of those moments. Adversity didn't just test me. No, it grew me into who I am today in this moment with a better understanding of not only where I've been, but where I truly believe I can go.

"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."
