"Blessed"
I'm blessed. My son and I sat at church Sunday while my wife and daughter worked. I'll be honest I woke up thinking maybe I'll just watch on line, but my son wasn't having it. We went and just enjoyed the moment. We laughed, we talked, and he reminded me how he is so much like his mom. I felt blessed. He's 15, but still my baby boy. I think often as my kids grow that every single experience should matter. I missed that being on the road early in their life, moving them so often, chasing things that today seem trivial. I've learned even the smallest moment creates a memory. Well, as the week went on my wife and son were away at band camp- creating their own moments. My daughter asked if I wanted to watch a movie. It made me smile, and I was so happy she asked. I made us dinner and we watched. She went to the store before and brought me some of my favorite snacks (Yes, she remembered all of what I like) We laughed together, made fun of the movie, and she reminded me of how much alike we are. I felt blessed. She's 18, but is still my baby girl. Thing is life is fast. Our kids grow faster. I'm 51. My parents remind me every day in their own way that I'm still their baby boy. Yes, I'm blessed.
