Yesterday I encountered a situation where I was a participant in a meeting where someone was being so negative. Every solution was met with a problem. Every obstacle was met with an excuse. There was a lot of no, can't, and won't. It is so easy to be discouraging. To tell someone they can't takes no energy. To hold someone back, to step on others to move up, to utter words filled with hate... It's easy. Thing is, so is being kind. So is supporting one another. So is pushing others to chase those wild dreams. So is being the positive in a negative situation. All it takes is a choice. You think your influence doesn't matter, but it does. Someone is listening to you. Someone hangs on your every word and waits to see what you will do in the moment. We sometimes take for granted those times were we can lift others up. Where we can help someone hold it together while they go through a tough time. Where we can lend our faith to others. Pay attention to what's going on around you. Who are you surrounding yourself with? What are you doing to be a light in the dark? What are you doing to spread kindness and serve others? We all can, and every chance we get, we should. Take that blessing and be it. "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, but let us encourage one another." (Hebrews 10: 24-25)
Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you take your influence and use it to be positive. Use it be a beacon of hope and a light in the dark.
