People know when someone isn't sincere. They can read it, and they feel it. That can be more discouraging to someone than simply hearing the truth and knowing someone's true feelings. Often we may think holding back real emotions is better, but in the long run it's not. Sometimes you have to put it all out there. You have to put your cards on the table and encourage others to do the same. It's how we create better relationships. It's how we become surrounded by truth, intimacy, and relationships built on trust. It's how we grow. It's how we know when we are truly doing well, meeting expectations, and reaching goals. It's not always going to be easy to share, but when you create an environment that is grounded in transparency you eliminate confusion, doubt, and miscommunication. Miscommunication filled with rumors, assumptions and toxicity. That can quickly demoralize others and create walls you can't get over. It is not an environment conducive to a healthy, lasting, and loyal culture. So, be open to people willing to allow vulnerable and real emotions. Be open to discussion, opinions, and perspectives that may not be the same as yours. Be open to listening and hearing what people have to say. Let others know it's ok to share, their opinions, ideas, truths. Then... Just be sincere in how you respond and react, and relish the opportunity to be in a place around people where you can.
