“Lift Others Up”
It costs nothing to lift someone up, but it could mean everything to the person who needs it. One thing life continues to teach me is that we never truly know what someone else is carrying. The person smiling beside you may be fighting a battle they haven’t told anyone about. The person who always seems strong may be exhausted from being strong. And sometimes the person encouraging everyone else is quietly hoping someone will stop long enough to encourage them. That’s why I believe so deeply in lifting people up. Speak life into them. Remind them of their worth. Celebrate their victories without comparing them to your own. Encourage them when they stumble. Stand beside them when life gets heavy. And when they’ve forgotten how strong they are, remind them. The world gives us enough opportunities to tear each other down. We don’t need to add to it. God didn’t put us here to compete over who shines the brightest. I believe He calls us to help each other shine. I’ve been blessed throughout my life by people who lifted me when I needed it most. Sometimes with a prayer, sometimes with a phone call, sometimes with a hug, and sometimes simply by saying, “I’m here.” Those moments matter. And I want to be that person for someone else. Because lifting another person doesn’t diminish our own light. When we help someone else rise, we rise with them.
So today, look around. Someone needs your encouragement. Someone needs to hear that they matter. Someone needs to know they haven’t been forgotten. Someone may simply need you to believe in them until they can believe in themselves again.
Be that person.
Lift people up. Love them well. Give grace freely. Pray for them. Celebrate them. And leave people a little stronger than you found them. Because at the end of the day, one of the greatest measures of our lives won’t be how high we climbed… It will be how many people we reached back and helped climb with us.
