Daily BITUB- “Plans”

We know that God has a plan for us.  We trust in His way, but it is still up to us to be prepared for what comes along that way. He doesn't give us more than we can handle, but we must be willing to handle it. What we value, believe in, who and what matters most are choices we make. Will we profess our faith? Will we be passionate about what matters to us? Will we openly commit ourselves to doing God's will? What we choose to fight for, commit ourselves to, dream, live... Yes, that is us too. Though we know God is there for us does not imply we stop doing all we can to live up to the blessings, our potential, and the plan He does have in place. We are amazing in our ability to be. Be more, be true, be trustworthy, be caring, be a child of God. We have the ability to overcome limitations, to excel, and to reach heights as high as we allow ourselves to go. We tackle the adversity and the challenges all the while making decisions as best we can. As best we can with God in mind, with God as our guide, with God as our companion. We simply do all we must and all we can within the foundations of faith we have created with God. Once we begin to live up to that and see what God sees in us, then we begin to realize just how beautiful God's plan for us really is.

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you trust, you have faith, and you allow God's plan to take you exactly where He intends for you to be. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3: 5-6)

Do you ever think what you are doing won't matter? Good or bad you may think nobody cares, is watching, is influenced, but they are. What we don't anticipate is how our choices can ripple throughout other's lives and our own. We might not even realize that impact for years to come until we come across somebody we influenced... Again good or bad. Try as we might to avoid making impacts throughout our journey we are going to. It may be a family member, a coworker, our person, our children, even complete strangers. We will make people feel, think, laugh, cry, doubt, fight, trust, give.. We may be an answered prayer, a blessing, a reminder there is good in the world. We may be witness to others providing the same. We are all on this journey and how we use our influence, our time, our moments, our lives matters. God gave us those opportunities and He died so that we may live. How will you live? How will you do what you can to live a life worthy of that ultimate sacrifice? How will you be grateful? Don't ever think what you are doing doesn't matter. It has, it does, and it will. Make your moments, be that influence that creates a better place, be your blessings, and Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU.

Daily BITUB- “Help”

Why would you tackle it all alone? I know it's not easy to ask for help. I've been there. Feeling isolated, confused, worried others would think I'm weak. Not to mention you don't want to be a burden. After all everyone has problems, and you sure don't want to add yours. So, what do we do? You keep praying for an answer. Praying for help to get through the moment. Asking for strength. Asking for a moment to catch your breath. All the while telling those who ask if you are ok to just let you be. Telling them you will get through it when deep down you are screaming for help. We must realize that we all need support. We all need a fan, someone to back us, give us strength, to encourage us, to push us to continue when we think we can't. We need someone to listen, to be there and share with us back. We all need someone to remind us of what we are capable of achieving and someone willing to make us want to be better. Think about the people in your life God has blessed you with. Those are your answered prayers! Think about the ones who bring you their problems and ask for your help. Those are your answered prayers! Think about the moments you couldn't go on, but did. Those are the answered prayers we overlook! It's all how we perceive it. It's all how we let ourselves perceive it. Those answered prayers give you strength as you lean on their faith when yours is weak. They help you understand just how strong your faith can be when they need yours. They make you realize that we all have things we need help with. God put you there for them and in turn they are there for you. Trust in those blessings and remember just because it's not how you wanted it doesn't mean God didn't answer your prayers exactly the way you needed it. You don't need to tackle it alone. You never have and you never will. God is ever present. 

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you realize God is at work in your life answering prayer after prayer for you and for others. He is constant and I pray that we slow down long enough to see His beauty, His blessings, and His influence at work in our lives.

We all have a way we do things. We all have our path. We have our thought process and we've essentially developed our approach to how we deal with stress, anger, fear, happiness, good and bad situations. What I've started to understand is that we sometimes are so focused on ourselves we miss just how influential our approach can be on others. Our attitude, our drive, our character is ever present, and we are either going to be that positive influence or we are going to be the negative one. Think about how often you are given opportunities to let your light shine. Think about how that light might just brighten someone else's day. Think about how you could be the prayer someone made this morning. Sure we have our ways, we have our own agenda, we have schedules, deadlines. We have things to do, but if we just take a moment to do them with good in mind, with God in our hearts, we may just find our light brighter, our days filled with positive vibes, our circle of influence filled with positive people, our "certain way of doing things" carry us further than if we did them without God traveling that path with us. 

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you allow God to travel that path with you and as you encounter situations, people, experiences you press forward with the beauty and blessings of being able to do good, to spread joy, to create positive moments for you and for others.

Character is always a factor in life's journey. Attacking life is not ok if you are attacking people along the way. There is no comfort in standing a top a mountain only to look down on all the people you used to reach higher. Instead appreciate those that provided comfort, support, hope, and faith. Appreciate them by giving back, by pushing harder, by exceeding expectations and by believing in them, and others, as they have believed in you. Be of service. Live a life of it. Offer your skills, your mind, your guidance when you can, and be aware of those offering the same to you. Be mindful of who you are, why you are and all the beautiful blessings that surround you day in and day out. Take inventory of the special people along the path that want nothing more than to be a part of the journey with you. Realize they find part of their happiness in experiencing and sharing yours. Life is better lived when you take others on that journey with you. Remember there is no joy in life's successes if it is ever at the expense of others, "and do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." (Hebrews 13:16)

Step into that place. The one where all is exactly as it should be. Where the moment is defined by you. Where the ones who give you that lift reside. Where you hear words of encouragement and your motivation is at its peak. Where the light shines brighter and the path is that much clearer. It's not so much your happy place as it is your sanctuary. That place where you know what you want and have the determination to get it. Where you feel loved. Where you remember that look your mom would give you across the room that made you feel special, safe, and content.  Where the unspoken words of your dad made you know he was proud. It's where God's blessings resonate and urge you to push forward because you know through Him all is possible. It's that area where your dreams are closest to reality and your faith is at its strongest. Where unconditional love is real and unbelievable chances matter. You know that place. It's in you. So, step into it. Let your heart be the path, your mind be your guide, and God be your constant companion.

Daily BITUB- “Points of View”

We all have our points of view. Those views have been cultivated over time. Unfortunately we sometimes get stuck on a view due to past experiences and are unable to move forward. It causes issues in relationships, issues with trust, issues with ourselves. Thing is as we grow our views need to grow with us. We can't restrict our access to what we know. The only way to get better, to change our perspective, to realize there is more out there is to seek it. Seek it vigorously! Push yourself past the limited view of what was and allow yourself to realize the potential of what can be. As you begin to realize new experiences you will have learned from the past what works and what doesn't. I've said it before you will recognize the scenery, but the scenery won't recognize you. You aren't the same and your ability to interact and influence may be what someone who shares that same hesitation needs. They may need reassurance of what can be, the good, the perspective, faith... and you just may be that blessing and the view they have been looking for. 

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you allow yourself to see through eyes of experience, through eyes of wisdom, through eyes of love. So that you may see just how beautifully blessed life and the journey through a view filled with God's love can be.

Daily BITUB- “Friend or Enemy”

"Words from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses." (Proverbs 27:6)

You've heard the saying we are our own worst enemy. As I was reading I came across this verse and thought, wow, how often do we do this to ourselves. We convince ourselves that what we are doing is ok. We say I'm giving enough, I'm listening enough, I'm doing all I can. We are very convincing giving ourselves those pats on the back when deep down we know we are capable of so much more. We know that we aren't happy, aren't reaching our potential, aren't seeking out our calling. There are more people settling because that's easy to do, and we have an ability to convince ourselves of anything! We are afraid to put ourselves out there because we don't want our shortcomings to be exposed. That's really self demoting isn't it? Stepping out of the shadows and taking a risks is living. To do nothing is being disrespectful to yourself and to all those who believe in you. Which honestly is more people than you often allow yourself to realize. Allowing yourself to go through the motions to avoid opportunities to fail will only prevent you from realizing how beautiful God's blessings really are. It's ok to realize your wins, but hold yourself accountable and challenge yourself often. Be a friend, open and vulnerable, and trust yourself enough to be honest with where you are and where you want to go.

Daily BITUB- “Relief”

Relief? Relief from a person, place, a feeling, doubts, fears. You keep telling yourself that you need a breath or you are going to throw in the towel. You are simply lost in this storm and don't know where to go next. Guess what?  It's still going to be there if you don't face it. It's still going to be a thought that will often show up when you least expect it. Relief? Walking away won't solve it! You can't run away from it! In fact you must do something you may not realize you can. Slow down. Slow down for a moment and let it all catch up. While it does give yourself the time to pray and talk to God. Ask Him for wisdom, strength, clarity. He already knows what you are going through and knows where you are going to end up. Trust in Him and allow yourself the opportunity to catch your breath, rejuvenate your spirit, lean on someone's faith if you must. Allow yourself to gather your strength and find your fight! It's there! Then, don't just move on, but move forward and through it. Handle what you must so that you gain the blessing of experience. Could there be hurt, frustration, confusion? Of course, but that's all part of it. It's part of being an active participant in ourselves and what matters most to us. It's learning about who we are every day and building upon those foundations. Relief? The relief will come as we begin to realize how we are better for this storm, how strong we can be when we must to weather it, and that our faith in God and His plan says we can face anything if we truly allow Him to guide us. In that, we know through Him, we will never be lost.  

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you find the relief you are looking for through the comfort of prayer and the faith that God is with you and is the relief you need. Put it at His feet and let  Him in. Let faith be your strength.

Daily BITUB- “Why Change?”

If you want to change something you can't just say It. That's not enough! Telling yourself I'm going to change won't be enough unless you understand why you want this change. It's always the why that makes it matter. Are you doing it to have a healthier lifestyle? Are you doing it to have a better relationship with your person? Are you doing it to create more meaningful interactions? Maybe it's to spend more time on you and your pursuit of those long awaited goals and dreams. Maybe it's to be an example for your kids? How about because you want to be a better leader, a better person, a better listener, a better mother, father, brother, sister, friend? Maybe it's because you understand that without this change you can't level up. Regardless of your reason understanding the why creates the level of urgency, focus, dedication and commitment you will need to do it. As cliche as it is change is inevitable. Controlling what and how we change, how we react to it, and what it really means... our why... ,s on us.

Take in your moments. Remember the impact they made on you and those around you. The good and bad all have the ability to influence who and why you are. Let them resonate enough to give you the experience so that you may draw from them the lessons they were intended to provide. God places us right within that place where He knows we need to be. It won't always be where we think we should be, but it will always be where faith, hope and love reside. It will always be where the memories of our most influential moments bring us the strength, the guidance and even the necessary adversity to help us grow. It will always be where the challenges do nothing more then solidify just how solid our foundation of faith can be. It will always be where our supporters carry us the most, our dreams are the wildest, our goals are at their highest and our ability to Believe in the Unbelievable moments push us to excel beyond anything that says we can't. So... Take in your moments and make those moments matter.

Daily BITUB- “Progress”

There are many different ways to identify progress. However, each of us will identify it in our own way. Each of us will have our own benchmarks. It isn't always going to be as simple as moving from here to there. What may seem small to one person may be leaps for another. Everyone's situation, everyone's story, everyone's perspective is different. It may be in the way you approach a situation. It may be that you can even approach it at all. It may be in your outlook of what is going on in your life. It may be in your attitude and how you are able to control your emotions when faced with adversity. It may be in the ability to overcome your fears to go beyond limitations. Those limitations that once prevented you from reaching your goals. It may be in how you challenge the day and your determination to be better than you were yesterday. It may be that you got out of bed today because yesterday you felt you couldn't. It may be the way you appreciate a sunrise and slow down long enough to thank God for the sunset. It may be that today you are glad to be here and yesterday you weren't. It may be the smallest glimmer of light that you couldn't see before. Whatever it is, however it is, whenever it is that's your progression. There are lessons, experiences and beautiful gifts from God along the way. If we must look back those are reminders of where we have been and more importantly how blessed we are to be able to continue the journey to wherever we are willing to go... And no matter how long it takes for us to move forward find the blessing in each and every step.

Daily BITUB-“Missing”

Yesterday I was sitting in my car and had this overwhelming feeling of "missing". That's the best way for me to describe it. Missing what I wasn't sure. Though it started to grow... I started missing my family, missing Georgia, missing friends, missing those we've lost. I was feeling lost actually. It was a strange feeling because I'm a very upbeat person and life is amazing, but this feeling was overpowering those good thoughts. Now, say what you will, but suddenly my mind filled with my cousin. All my thoughts went to him, who passed years ago, and my heart made my mind smile. I started seeing old times, remembering crazy moments, repeating old conversations. I realized that missing feeling had dissipated and my tears turned to laughter thinking of some things too crazy to repeat... LOL.  I started to feel calm. I felt the sense that for some reason he felt me heading down a path and wanted to remind me of the beauty of the one I am on. I once heard the quote that angels often come disguised, but this one didn't. I heard you loud and clear JC. Comfort comes in many forms. As my wife often says, "Don't he sad because it's over be happy that it happened." I am and continue to be. So, if you are "missing" take comfort that you are never alone. That God is ever present and He has so many people, places, and things that remind us of that.

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you realize that God's presence is in all things. Sometimes He simply places subtle reminders in our path, but it is those reminders that often help us realize just how blessed we really are.

Daily BITUB- “Get Yourself in Order”

Get your self in order. If you are spending your time lashing out at others, talking about what they do, looking at what others have then you are missing a lot. You are missing it because all things you start with you.  If you  aren't reaching  your potential then look within first. You wondering why you got overlooked for the promotion? Stop asking why someone was picked and start focusing on why you weren't. You want to grow, then be willing to take risks. You want to learn, then be willing to teach what you know to others and then study. Surround yourself with challenges, higher standards, lofty goals. Embrace the commitment it takes to achieve and put your energy into what exactly that means. You have gifts. We all do. What are you doing with them? Are you putting them to the test? Are you developing them constantly? Are you using them to do good? Are you making the best out of your skills? Are you helping others along the way? You have purpose. God bestowed all those things to you... Are you being those blessings? Are you serving His purpose by finding ways to appreciate and utilize the gifts you have been given to do more, be more, give more? It's easy to squander our moments, and as hard as it can be to make our moments matter that is what living and being grateful for the opportunity to live is about. You already know, and it's on you to do what God put you here to do. Get yourself in order.

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you are able to realize the beauty in the blessings God has provided through your skills, talents, and gifts. That you use those to reach your potential and to share that potential with others.

Daily BITUB- “Doors”

It's not about one door closing so another can open. The doors we open will always be open. Try as we might to close them we have already made the choice to open and walk through them. So instead of using energy to close those doors we must take that experience and move toward our next one. It won't be far... In fact there are doors everywhere around us each and every day. Ones we want to go through. Others we need to go through. Some we want to avoid, but they are still there. Others we keep walking back and forth through hoping for a different outcome. Truth is there isn't a lack of doors in our life, but we must be invested enough in ourselves to be willing to climb the walls that hide some of those doors. We must embrace the experiences, the adversity, the passion we bring along with us through each and every door that provides us the strength to reach the next. We must trust that we have created a foundation that will sustain them and believe that every one is a choice and a chance. From the ones we know to the ones we don't. The unfamiliar doors are but another part of the path, and faith tell us there will always be the familiarity of God through each one. So, take the chances you must, be blessed as you open that next door today, and Believe in the Unbelievable possibilities that exists on the other side.

Daily BITUB- “Thank You”

I saw a post yesterday that said our first thought in the morning should be "Thank You!" Simple and so much truth. We all know there are no guarantees to life and having that next day. There are no promises. So we shouldn't make them. The things that we must do, must say, must feel we should... Today. Give thanks to God by living life and give all you can to it. Live the dream, chase the goal, take the trip, call the girl/guy, hug tighter, laugh louder, cry on that shoulder, offer the helping hand, read the scripture, live The Word, love and be loved. If we stop and take pause we will notice the blessings that surround us. So do it. Take a moment to appreciate what you have going on. No matter how things are right now there is something there that reminds us of the light even in the darkest of moments. So give thanks, and as you begin your day with a "Thank you", why not go ahead and end it with one too.

Daily BITUB- “Lost in Translation”

We've probably all had situations where we said one thing, but it was completely misinterpreted. In these days where text and emails happen more often than actual face to face conversation it's completely possible we misinterpret something more often than not. Things are always susceptible to getting lost in translation. Maybe that's why we find ourselves questioning God at times. His text, The Word, gets lost in translation for us. We wonder where our answered prayer is. We are searching for answers as to why something happened. We get frustrated that things aren't happening the way we planned for them to. Yes, I believe we often miss that God doesn't make mistakes. His way is the only way, but try as we might there are still those moments when His message, His answered prayer,  His calling to us simply is confusing. The thing is it may take us days, months, years to understand what God is telling us, but rest assured when it is time, His time, it will be abundantly clear. Clear that God's interpretation of  our prayers, where we are, where we are going, what we are to become is beautifully translated into exactly what He intended it to be.

Daily BITUB- “Good Deeds”

Someone asked me if I ever get down on myself. Often, and honestly, we are harder on ourselves than anyone else can be. We put limitations on ourselves that others won't. We sell ourselves short because it's easy to do. What I've realized is that I'm flawed in many respects. I've made mistakes, bad judgement calls, taking things for granted, used and hurt others. I could go on and on and beat myself down over and over, and I have. That fear of self examination is daunting at times because we know the things we know about ourselves other people don't. What I've stopped doing is hiding the fact I've fallen well short of being that perfect person and doing what I know I should as a child of God. In that I've also realized God doesn't remove His Grace, but that's not an excuse to sin more. Instead it's opportunity to be better, to try harder, to grow, to believe, to have faith and to profess it. It's opportunity to realize the good we have done. The moments we've done His will and have given more of ourselves than we have taken. If you are opening yourself up to the wrongs you've done you must also see the right you have done. All of it encompasses who you are and gives you the chance and opportunity every day to simply be better. A better person, father, mother, coworker, son, daughter, friend, mentor. Yes, I get down, but as it is written, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is you realize that through you God is at work, and in us all there is good deeds ready to be bestowed upon others.
