Daily BITUB- “The Full View”

As we draw on experiences we tend to think about how a situation was resolved. We go through the steps we took, the decisions we made, the people involved. Essentially we think about the who, the what and the how. As of late, as I reflect on those moments I am intentionally looking at my actions. I am focusing on my intentions and my reactions. Did I instigate? Did I create negative situations? Did I react with emotion before I thought about my role in things? Did I take accountability for my decisions and the outcomes of those decisions? We can talk about the things we learned by how others acted, but I know I have personally failed to look at myself first. It is simply easier to point fingers. Easy to blame others. Even easier to ask God over and over again, "Why me? Why this? Why now?" I think of all those situations where I couldn't understand why people acted the way they acted. Why they said things they shouldn't have. Why they reacted as they did. All the while oblivious to myself. While I don't always remember to check myself in the moment, I am trying to reflect on myself as I go. Trying to be more aware and honest with what I could have done better. Being intentional in doing my best to influence the outcome and be a light in the tunnel.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you find the lessons in your moments, and you see that even in our darkest moments there are always blessings.

Have a blessed, safe and healthy day everyone.

Daily BITUB- “Transformation”

Reinvent continuously. Transforming constantly. Intentional changes in our lives. Everyday we are blessed with moments to realign and reengage our commitment to our goals, to our ourselves, to our family. We get to maneuver through obstacles to determine the best course of action to achieve our vision and to create a life consistent with our priorities. Our journey is transformational if we allow it to be. As I reflect on moments past I see so many moments where my selfish and self-serving heart took me to places I didn't want to be. My focus was skewed and my desire for instant gratification took me away from my values. I couldn't find satisfaction because I kept building false foundations. I am a work in progress, but self reflection and a desire for self development are things I have come to appreciate. That's part of my daily affirmation. It's part of my vision to do what I can to give more than I take. Living purposely creates a path. It helps us understand the importance of why we do things. It brings people into our lives we want to do it for. It gives us direction and drives us to reach higher than we thought we could. Then it allows us to help others as we have been helped. It gives us a perspective that demands we make each day count. We all have blessings we overlook, but there are those moments we cling to them and we get the chance to be our blessings. We get to love and be loved. We get to listen, show kindness, believe in those unbelievable moments. We get to pray for and with others. We get to be positive influences when we can. We get to give all glory to God and be grateful that He allows us to have another day... Another day to simply do our best to be better than we were yesterday.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you take today and make it count. You put all of you into it. You bring your light into the world. You count your blessings and you remember that you just may be the blessing someone prayed for today.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy week everyone.

Daily BITUB- “Balancing Act”

"Whole life have a balance. Everything be better." – Mr. Miyagi

Are you balanced? That's a broad question. It's broad because it means different things to different people. In fact it may even mean different things to you at different junctures in your life. How you relate to it is more than likely what is happening in your life right now. Work and life balance. Balanced diets. Balance between principals and passion. Balance between faith and science. Yes there are some tough conversations, choices, reflections going on right now. Balance... While we may want to change the world, we mustn't let the world change us. We have to determine the balance we need to continue to do life and do it in away we feel comfortable doing it. We have to balance our opinions with facts and then be willing to allow others to do the same. Let's be honest, character influences character. You see it all the time when people post things and the comments take over. How the responses come determines the direction the rest of that post will go. Sometimes even losing sight of what the original post was even about. Our expectation of others is a balance in itself. Yet we can't expect to find that if we aren't willing to exhibit the behaviors we would expect from others. Now, more than ever, our entire existence is a balancing act. Everyone believes their way is the right way. Just as I believe to let God lead the way. That's where I find in a world of chaos I can rest, I can breathe, I can find comfort, I am balanced. In His hands everything is better.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you are able to find the balance you need to live. In today's world we must put our faith in God and know that He is the way, the truth and the light.

Have a blessed, healthy and safe day all.

Daily BITUB- “Keep The Faith”

Keep the faith. You hear it often, but why should you? I once sat in a room afraid of my reflection. I was afraid not because of what I might see, but because I knew what I would. I would question my ability to overcome things because I wasn't really sure I wanted to. That would mean facing my fears, dealing with my short comings, admitting my wrongs. It would mean that I would be exposed for the things I tried my hardest to hide. While I was hiding it from others, I couldn't hide it from myself, and the more I talked to God the more I understood I shouldn't. Our journey is often one of faith. As we take on new roles, experience new chapters in life, new careers, parenthood, marriage, relationships, moving to another town, the ups and downs of life we don't know what awaits us, but we know that our faith can carry us. It has before even if we didn't realize it. As change surrounds us I see people struggling to accept that there will be real changes needed and honest conversations with each other and ourselves about how we can positively influence that change. Just like many things before we don't know what lies ahead, but we know we don't walk it alone. We know God is with us. We know that faith has held us before. We know prayer is a powerful agent of support that resonates beyond us. We know that anything worth living for is worth the things we may have to live with and live through. Life isn't always easy. For many it has never been, yet they continue to fight for a chance to live. They give thanks for the opportunity to make their lives a little better by lifting others up when they can't lift themselves. So, yes, keep the faith. The journey will take you where God intends you to be. You will arrive there exactly when He intends for you to. Remember... "Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls."
(1 Peter 1:8-9)

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you lean on it, leap in it, trust in it, and keep it... Faith. Believe when it seems impossible to believe.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day all.

Daily BITUB- “VLOG- Relationships”

Relationships matter. Being intentional in those relationships matters even more. Every opportunity we get to cross someone's path, good or bad, we are blessed to learn, grow, and take things away from those relationships. Romans 12:2 states, "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind".  We are presented moment after moment to do just that. As I discuss the SERVE model often, it is the "R" that tells us to reinvent continuously. Transforming and renewing ensures that we continue to evolve in our way of thinking, our pursuit of appreciation for the people God puts in our life, and the blessing of being able to have the relationships we do.

Hope you enjoy the video and thank you all for the continued support, kind words, and the role you play in my life.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day week everyone.

Daily BITUB- “Vulnerability”

Are you able to share your thoughts with someone? Are you afraid because you've been hurt? Maybe you have trust issues because of it. Maybe you are letting the beauty of real intimacy pass you by because of it. If you can't be vulnerable with those closest to you, then you may want to reconsider why those people are close to you. That vulnerability creates accountability. I have people in my life that know what matters to me. I know what matters to them. So we push one another. We realign and redirect when we see the other getting off the path. It's important to have supporters and you can't do that unless people know what they are supporting. It comes down to the relationships you are surrounding yourself with. Take an inventory of who you let influence you. Pay attention to why and how they do. When we put ourselves in circles of negativity we inherently become negative. In turn the opposite is true. Fighters, goal setters, achievers, dreamers, servant leaders help influence others by their example. Those are the people we want in our lives. When we allow ourselves to fall into a lull where we isolate our thoughts and don't have people willing to take the journey with us we create blind spots. We miss opportunities because we don't allow ourselves to broaden our perspectives and see beyond ourselves. We don't listen or allow others to help us, to guide us, to be a part of us. It's ok to be vulnerable with those we trust and those that trust us. God puts people in our lives that are there to make us better, to teach us lessons, to help us grow. We just have to allow ourselves to trust there are reasons God put them there in the first place.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you pay attention to the people God intentionally puts in your path. They are there for a reason and it's up to us to allow those reasons to take shape by trusting that God is in control of everyone and everything we are blessed to come in contact with.

Have a blessed, healthy and safe day all.

Daily BITUB- “A Season”

Everybody talks about what they are going to do. They weigh the options, but sometimes spend so much time doing that they let things like fear, anxiety, and doubt creep in. It happens to all of us. I remember deciding if I wanted to come back to Texas over 6 years ago. I was scared, because the risk of losing all I had worked for was going to be put on the line. We were leaving dear friends, we were leaving a comfort zone, and we were unsure if what we were doing was going to make sense. There was an easy road for sure, but we took the other one. There have been times over the years we questioned if it was the right move. Times we were struggling to bring our lives together. It wasn't until years later I figured out something. I realized what I had worked for wasn't my career, my house, my car... It was my family. It was my relationship with them, with God, with myself. I wasn't giving up anything. I was removing things that made me forget why I worked, why I pushed, why any of it mattered. It grounded me in a reality that my foundation wasn't built on things we had; it was so much more than that. The relationships we built, the values we had cultivated, and the memories we had made were the real things and we were taking that with us. Recently in reading Ecclesiastes I came across 3:1. "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." The more I read that the more I realize all we are, all we do, all we have comes as God commands it to come. Whether we choose to embrace it, to appreciate it, to become it is on us. How we live in each season, good and bad, is on us. As we trust in faith that there truly is a time for every activity under the heavens... That's on us too.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you find comfort that whatever season you are in God is there with you. There is no journey He is not willing to travel with us.

Have a blessed, healthy and safe day all.

Daily BITUB- “God is Certain”

Many of my life's journeys didn't happen the way I expected. Some chapters of life weren't even planned at all. Life just happened, and there were times I wasn't happy with the way it was playing out. Like most people, I challenged the notion that I had anything to do with it when it didn't go right. There were arguments with God, finger pointing, and fear. Fear of the unknown and the uncertain. As life goes on, I'm still on that rollercoaster. I realize my role in things sometimes and other times I still question it. Someone once told me the first time you do something you're not happy with it's a mistake and hopefully a lesson. The second time, though, is a choice. That resonated with me. We all have opportunities to be better. We all have moments to find beauty in the experiences we face. We all are blessed to grow each and every day we are blessed to have another day. We get to choose what we are going to do with it, and if we will leave things better than when we got there. Seems easy doesn't it? Thing is, we often don't see things in the moment. Life has to play out sometimes. The chapters that are written we can review and reflect on. The ones that aren't we get to decide if we are going to be an active participant in or if we are going to let it pass us by. God is our certainty in uncertain moments. So don't be afraid to embrace it. "Some of the most beautiful chapters in our lives won't have a title until much later." (Bob Goff)

Believe in the Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you have faith in God's plan for you. There is no place God will not go with you if you let Him in. Through Him all is possible.

Have a blessed, healthy and safe day all.

Daily BITUB- “The High Road”

I'm telling myself to take the high road. It's not always easy. You see someone stooping to levels that amaze you. You see someone refusing to look in the mirror at themselves. You see someone abusing their power and manipulating their way around. They take credit for things they didn't do and point fingers at things that don't go right. You can't judge though, because you've been there. You've done it. Yet even in this moment you question yourself. You look at your flaws, your opportunities, your role in all of it. You wonder if they will get it like you did. You wonder if they will see the error of their ways before it's too late and they are left standing alone. You know how it goes because you were almost that person. As you reflect, you realize it's not on you. You can only control yourself. You can only work on yourself. You have to be honest about what you influence and then influence it. It's all perspective. The truth is at some point they will expose themselves beyond repair. You see it happening now. However, it won't stop you from praying for them. It's what you do. It won't keep you from wishing them well. It's who you are. It won't prevent you from doing all you can to pick up the pieces they leave behind because people matter. They matter. Even if they feel like you and others don't.

Yes... I'm taking the high road. After all, it's pretty open up here.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you don't allow someone to steal your joy, passion, love for what you do. Keep doing it and be grateful that you can.

Have a blessed, healthy, and safe day all.

Daily BITUB- “Faith”

"If you lose faith, you lose all." - Eleanor Roosevelt

When you say you trust in faith, then you trust in faith. That means trusting in all of it. It means trusting in the moments that don't go as you had hoped just as much as the ones that do. It's taking a step back and looking at the big picture that exists. Then taking that big picture and being blessed by the ability to look at all the parts that make up the whole. It's knowing that God has His hand on each and every piece along the way. It's understanding that faith can waiver, but God does not. It's believing when it seems impossible to believe. It is accepting that our faith will inevitably be tested. That's part of life and our journey. There will be leaps and there will be falls, but those are all part of the beauty of experience and the privilege of the lessons that come from those experiences. We will lean on faith. We will hold others up in faith. It is faith that carries us, faith that leads us, faith that gives us strength and faith that helps us see that even in our darkest moments there are blessings.

Yes... When you say you trust in faith, then you trust in faith.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you realize that's it's ok to simply close your eyes and leap in faith. God is already at your destination ready to catch you.

Have a blessed, healthy and safe day all.

Daily BITUB- “Improve Yourself”

What are you doing to improve yourself? Are you eating better, working out, going to bed earlier, reading more, communicating better? I talk about leadership often and talk specifically about servant leadership. Part of that means service to yourself so that you may better serve others. Self evaluate often. Where are you vs where you should and want to be? What are you doing to positively influence the outcome? Are you bringing solutions or are you accentuating the problem? Every opportunity deserves the full you. The you that learns, experiences, shares, grows. The you that is beyond self orientation and is committed to lifting others up. It doesn't mean you avoid conflict, it simply means you work to make things better around you by being part of the moment instead of insisting you be the moment. Keep working to be better than yesterday. Learn from your mistakes. Share what you learned. Be vulnerable and intimate in your relationships. Be intentional in your motives and be the one that helps others realize they can succeed. The world has enough negative influences. It has enough people trying to trip others up. It has enough attention seekers. You don't have to contribute to that. You can grow by serving others. You can win by helping others reach their potential. You can lead by example... An example where you are lead by a servant heart and God is at the forefront of all you do.

Believe In The Unbelievable that YOU and my prayer for you today is that you let yourself be a positive influence amidst the negative that may exist in your life. There are many moments to be kind, to be better, to spread joy... Embrace and appreciate them today and everyday.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy day all.

Daily BITUB- “Stand Up”

"Being able to admit you're wrong is important, but so is standing up for yourself when you're right." — Suzy Kassem

What if you had a chance to help a lot of people? What if you had the opportunity to make a difference? Would you do it? Would you have the courage to stand up when others couldn't and wouldn't? Life is full of moments where courage matters. It's full of experiences where we can stand down or push on. It may be the hardest you have ever fought. It may cost you everything you have worked for, but it won't cost you your values. It will be a defining moment. It will be a line drawn in the sand. The repercussions may resonate for a lifetime, but you'll know the things you held dear stayed intact. So often people talk the talk, but walking the walk is different. Standing up for your beliefs, having integrity, believing in what you live will always be faced with adversity. How you deal with that is what matters. How you weather the storm will build character. You will set something in motion that may end with you standing alone, but you will be standing. Standing up for what's right. Standing for those who can't. For the ones afraid, for the ones without a voice, for a culture, for service, for faith, for the opportunity to show that what matters really does. No matter who tries to take that away from you your beliefs and your integrity will be intact, and it will matter to someone.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you have faith in your journey. That you know God hears your prayers. While He may not answer the way you want, He will always answer them exactly the way they need to be answered.

Have a blessed, safe, and healthy week.

Daily BITUB- “Intentional Growth”

Leading. Intentional service. Heart and mind thinking. Servant hearts. As I continue to study and learn about leadership, I find myself seeing more and more that it is a special trait for people to be truly lead by a servant mindset. The balance is difficult, and without the true passion and desire to do it, well, it doesn't work. As I progress through my spiritual and mental journey of self discovery, I realize how often I miss the mark. What I deem essential isn't. What I believe I'm doing I'm not. It's so easy to throw up a quote, to say what you should do, to give advice, but in the moment do you live it? Is it part of you? Is it important to you? Is it reflective of every relationship you experience? Are you vulnerable to the moment in that you are open to learn, to grow, to listen, to see the opportunities to be better? As I am being intentional in the things I put my energy into, I'm finding some things, and some people, who drain the moment with no intent of giving back anything in return. One of my favorite words is reciprocity. You get what you give. If you are expecting a certain outcome then you have to evaluate what you are putting into it. People overlook that. I have, and I've learned the hard way how disengaging that is. You can't ever be disingenuous when you are building a culture, a relationship, a foundation, a life of service. At the end of the day we are all a work in progress. The differentiator is the level of work people are willing to put in starting with themselves. It starts with us. It starts with a true and honest reflection of who we are and who we want to be. If you are a leader of any capacity at home, work, your church, a team, then remember it's not about you. "Great leaders genuinely care for and love the people they lead more than they love leading itself." (Rick Warren)

Believe In The Unbelievable  that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you follow whatever calling God lays out before you. That you invest in those blessings and give thanks to God for the opportunities to have them.

Have a blessed, healthy and safe day all.

Daily BITUB- “New Adventures”

The new adventures in our lives come after a chapter of life closes. Sometimes though, it's the unfamiliarity of those new adventures that finds us stagnant and unwilling to close the chapter we are currently in. We find ourselves allowing things to linger, and as a result we never truly allow ourselves the opportunity to move on. I realize it is easier said than done. I've been there, and what I have found is the false starts to new beginnings happen. They are all a part of our growth and the process needed to develop the strength and confidence to close those chapters. It will happen when we are truly ready. It may take what we deem to be catastrophic events. It may take hurt and truth to bring real clarity to the situation. It may take a sense of accomplishment that motivates us to want and need more. It may take that realization we mustn't settle and that we don't have to. Make no mistake it's going to be something we must commit to or we won't follow through. We have to have faith in God's plan. Faith that we are strong enough for what can come next. Faith that we are not in it alone. While we should reflect on our previous chapters, as it gives us perspective, we mustn't dwell there. We have to give ourselves the blessing of a fresh start sometimes. A look at new horizons and new peaks. Take your experiences for what they offered, embrace the memories, good and bad, and then close it out and continue on. Continue on with a belief in the possibilities that exist in progression, and remember that each chapter will always have a familiar start- You, your faith and God as your guide.

Your next adventure awaits.

Believe In The Unbelievable that is YOU and my prayer for you today is that you have the courage to dream, to reach higher, to move forward. That you have faith in God's plan and trust in it enough to close your eyes and leap.

Have a blessed, healthy, and safe day all.
